- Explosion from Two vents in the summit crater, lava fountains and lava flow.
This is what the activity more or less looked like also during the evening of 22 Dec 2018 when later on, a part of the cone collapsed and caused the deadly tsunami on the evening of 22 Dec 2018 on Java's west coast.
We were witnessing an Amazing Volcanic Phenomena on September 2018 as our Expedition To Krakatoa arrived on the afternoon!

How is a volcano that normally erupted dacite and or rhyolite, erupting so effusively, aka lava flows. but that's neither rhyolite. That's likely basaltic andesite, or low silica andesite being erupted here. Only three daus before collapse/tsunami and a weeks long Surtseyan eruption.

Lot less than the half. Most of it remained, and continues to rage. Anak is set for another global disaster in few decades or century at most. Unfortunately this landslide was just a hiccup.

Is in the magma type currently being erupted by by Krakatoa basaltic ansdsite?
