Thank you! We spent way too long trying to load our new machine after the sample roll ran out. You made it make sense!

How do I take off the blue things off the film when I open it out of the box, I can’t even get them off to load it

I think you have the EZ load rolls, in which case you do not need the roll bars. Here’s the link to what I think you have: www.gbc.com/p/laminating/laminating-supplies/laminating-film/gbc-ezload-blue-end-cap-laminating-roll-film/ You can remove the roll bars and drop these right in without using the roll bars at all. Just make sure to place the film rolling in the right direction. Hope this helps!

I threaded it wrong. I accidentally had the bottom roll unrolling from the top and now I have a big jam around the bottom heat roller. How do I fix this mess?

Cut the film free from the roll, then grab the film that is wound around the roller the wrong way. Close the lid so the machine will run, then put the machine in reverse while you grab the film and try to pull it free of the roller before the machine heats up too much. Not having seen a picture of the problem, this is my best guess about what might work.

The machine MUST be hot before pushing the threading card through, as per the owners manual. It will most definitely jam on you if you do it this way

Thanks for chiming in. I have done it when it was not hot, as in the video, with no problems. I don’t always have time before a class comes in to let the machine get to full operating temperature. However, if you are changing the rolls for the first time and are apprehensive, following the manufacturer’s guidelines and letting the machine heat up all the way might give you more peace of mind.
