He’s right, growing up in a chinese household we didn’t know what they were, they were just there and they were delicious! Brings up so much nostalgia seeing these again!
To give an idea of how traditional some of these are, I'm 41 and also grew up on all but one of these (also, it was before individually packaged Rice Krispie squares, my Poh Poh made them.)
As a Filipino it's kinda neat how I can relate to having these snacks as a kid. The haw flakes, the white rabbit, the sunflower/watermelon seeds, rice crispies... As in, I didn't even have to ask for these, they were all just available at home somehow and I just inhaled each and every one of them. No questions asked. The Chinese snacks in particular stand out to me. I guess it's just another example of Chinese influence on the Philippines?
Southeast Asia / Asia have those snack, especially white rabbit. It's childhood Asian snack. BTW I'm from Malaysia. You can compare the price of those snack. Also haw flakes is my favorite. Actually Asian foods are same, got influenced but people called those snack by their country
@@geminiwoman8264 those snacks are imported from China. It's Chinese. Just because you call it something different doesn't means it something else. lol
This man is spreading his culture wherever he goes. Love it. He makes me wanna have the mentioned Childhood snacks again. Oh my god White Rabbit Candy, Sunflower Seeds, Hawthorns, Rice Crispies and Frosted Flakes. I just love everything he likes!! 😩😩😩
The way this man describes things! If he decided to write a novel, he'd be a best-seller overnight. "It's like you don't see your family member, like your aunt, your uncle. You don't travel with them, you're not with them every day, but when you see it, you just feel home." The poetry he just wrote over a snack!
White Rabbit is so good. There was a small Chinese restaurant near my grandma's house and they had this. The first time I had this, my mind my blown...so good.
I used to work in a chinese supermarket and all these items were available so seeing these products on mainstream youtube channel kinda makes me happy. Loved all those products specially sachima. It's so good food, if you eat 3 or 4 of them while you're hungry it would fill your belly up.
Whenever he promotes any food it looks like it tastes really good, maybe because he is also a lover of that food and really enjoys it. Even though we are from different countries, I am no stranger to the food even since I was a child. There are sweet, fresh and cruncy.
He's so charismatic! I really find him personable and funny. The way he speaks about food is a bit poetic. I had a smile on my face watching the entire video.
While I grew up in the Caribbean, we had Chinese influences and the only authentic Chinese snack that I identified with was the Hawthorne tokens that we called Chinese sausage. Only recently I found them again and only realised what they were made from.
You can find most of these items in any mid to large city, particularly if they have a Chinatown or large centralized Chinese population. In LA, you can find White Rabbit easily.
Check out his Magic Man album, it’s a recent album and completely different from all of his previous work, one of the best albums this year + you will be blown away by his mvs
Oh my God! I loved the snack from 0:12 when I was a child! I'd eat it everytime I went to a chinese restaurant with my familiy. Unfortunately, the restaurant stopped giving away the snack and it's difficult for me to find them because I never got to know its name UNTIL NOW! I'm gonna make sure to buy them. Thank you, Jackson! 😭
mmm jackson sure has taste!! white rabbit candy and haw flakes are literally the best childhood snacks, they’re so good! also definitely check out magic man it’s so amazing it’s ✨magic✨
Jackson is everywhere! I’m loving it! He’s actually introducing me to so many different YT channels that I wouldn’t have otherwise noticed or known about
Classic rice krispies are an underrated treat. They have been at the top of my favorite snacks list for forever. Jackson has my full trust in food recommendations
1:50 in the philippines we eat these too but instead of sunflowers, we eat pumpkin seeds :3 plus ! white rabbit candies are popular here in the ph too !
After I came to China, the first thing I looked for is the white rabbit Candy, unfortunately I couldn't find it at the supershop, so I ordered it online, It will arrive tomorrow. I am so EXCITED!!!!!!!😁😁
The white rabbit candy is no joke! I get them at the Asian grocery stores. Also those squares (the flour ones that look like rice crispies but isn’t) are SOOOO good!
I'm a Filipino but i grew up eating most of the snacks, and i love those until now. I also so so love Jackson, it's nice watching his videos and feel nostalgic together. Fighting Jackson and love you again 💪💪💪❤️❤️❤️
I’ve had white rabbit before, it was yummy even though I’m not a big milk fan. He’s so right about rice krispy treats too, incredibly addictive. My sister always has them so I’m always eating them when I’m at her house. I love homemade too because I can add peanut butter!
This brings back so many childhood memories. We had the "White Rabbit" candy with the clear rice paper wrapping and the Haw Flakes too. Gosh, I need to go get me some now!!
Those white rabbit candies and Chinese Rice Krispy blocks were everything 😍😍😍. My grandma used to always have those red token candies in her house and I hated them haha.
Okay now here's something I get behind Frosted Flakes. Love those all the time I've had variations I've had the one with the tiger on it, I've had the one with a polar bear on it. I just love frosted flakes.
We have the sunflower seeds too :D And chocolate with puffed rice...our puffed rice cakes are savoury or unsalted and normally eaten by people on a diet instead of bread...
If there's an East Asian supermarket near you, they will probably sell White Rabbit candy and Haw flakes. I would suggest haw flakes over candy - they are not as sweet and have a fruity taste.
I used to occasionally get the White Rabbit candy at the Filipino and Asian grocery stores, loved it despite being a bit of a hard chew. Rice Krispies treats are also awesome.
in malaysia we would also eat this too, since we are a multiracial country, all of these snacks are so good i remember eating them growing up, would buy them at small shop across the road.
Thumbs up if you want to eat snacks with Jackson!
