The VXL system in my Stampede 4wd VXL has the RARE 3355X esc, not the 3355R most have. The motors you all have are 3657 size, not far off from a Hobbywing 3660. So no real massive torque change there. The 3s VXL 3355X & 3355R are both 200 amp constant ESCs , not 120amp.constant like a MAX 10. So the VXL 3s 3355" has a higher amp rating, no real gain there, actually a loss. The MAX 10 120a has a much higher burst amp rating but that is counted in seconds and only used if the motor calls for it, this motor in this weight of a vehicle simply will not ask for that burst rating. My Stampede and my Rustler both were set up for handling FIRST so when I changed out the Rustler's running gear for a Sidewinder 4 and a 5750kv Purple, hand wound, inrunner JET MOTOR it already has better shocks, turnbuckles, hubs and was shimmed and balanced with toe and camber set, so it NEVER FLIPPED OR ROLLED OVER! @@dardenoakley8432 there's a lot of confusion on the MAX10 battery combo on here. Assuming you're talking the EZRUN 3660 SL G2 Brushless motor (or it's little brother, 3652), the 4000 and 4600kv motors are NOT 4s rated. Per Hobbywing, the 4600kv is only 2s rated and 4000kv is only 3s. Basically you risk overspeeding the motor. kv refers to RPM/V, so if you have a 4000kv motor with a 2s LiPo (nominal voltage of 7.4v), it works out to be 29,600 RPM (7.4 * 4000). Now put a 3s LiPo (11.1v) you're pushing that motor to 44,400 RPM. Put a 4s and you're hitting 59,200 RPM. That's when you start having magnets separate and gears exploding. (I used to design electric motors coupled to turbo chargers spinning up to 125,000 RPM for F1). At the end of the day, motors are dumb and are only current limited in that you can only push x amount of current until things melt. Increase the voltage, and you can pump more power at the same current (P=I*V), which in a motor's case equates to higher speed. Now all this said, you MAY get away with it if Hobbywing has a big safety factor on their design and in fact can handle 60krpm. I would air on the side of lower kv and increased gearing, while actively managing the increase in motor and ESC temps associated with it. As a general rule, I don't trust specs on Amazon, I go to the manufacturer.

velion motors are good but terrible at the same time I went through 2 of them in the span of 3 months. and if you went with hobbywing you would have to buy the combo as the motor is not compatible with the velion system. and the difference is the max 10 can do 4s @120amps and if u get the 4000k motor its much faster I recommend not going over 17tooth for general bashing for your pinion. let me know if you have any other questions.
