[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE] Record Club debuts on the Feed with “Mind Melter”!
-How long have you been creating music?
We have been creating music as Record Club since 2020, but Dan has a background in drumming and has been producing since 2015.
-What do you use to make your tracks?
We use Ableton as our main DAW
-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
I went to Imagine festival in 2017 with a few friends and my one buddy wouldn't stop talking about the fact we had to go to the Dirtybird Player’s Stage. Safe to say the music I heard at that stage was a catalyst in our journey as Record Club.
-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Dan: Collaborating with Eprom would be awesome; his song “Regis Chilbin” gave me the realization that you need to take creative risks in music even if it might be a polarizing sound (or song)
Alex: Kyle Watson would be my choice. I’m constantly listening to house sets where I’ll hear a song that I’ll end up looking up and more often than not it's a Kyle Watson track.
-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
Dan: “Making 5 Million Songs Everyday In My Head”
Alex: “Getting Comfortable Being Uncomfortable”
-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Dan: Hard Summer 2019 seeing Anti-Up
Alex: EDCNY 2012 First festival I attended. The music, atmosphere and production blew me away and made me realize this was an environment that I wanted to be a part of.
-What species of bird best describes you and why?
Dan: A Dalmatian Pelican because they might look intimidating (largest species of pelican) but are extremely graceful and majestic. Also, their flocks fly in perfect synchronicity (similar to being syncopated as a drummer).
Alex: Mockingbird because of their ability to adapt to different environments and showcase a variety of skills.
