It should be noted that 32 gigs of ram is NOT enough to run the latest version of CE. I have installed it on a Lenovo with 32 gigs of ram and the CVM won't start with the default config. It says that there is not enough ram to start it with JUST the OS installed and running. If I force the CVM down to 8 gigs, it will start but is super flakey. I'm getting 64 gigs in a week or so, but this is going to be a huge source of frustration for anyone that's trying to deploy 1 node CE on 32 gigs. You can straight up forget about it with 16 gigs. If you don't have the resources to get a bunch of ram, you're better of spending your time learning something different like ProxMox.
Hi Nutanix University. Please create an video of advanced networking (best practices are always good to refer to). The first two episodes where really helpful for me, thanks.
At 2.46 where you edit the iscasi Data Services IP , is it the one that needs to be 10 / 25 gbit for better performance of the cluster? If not which IP correspond to the communication between clouds? I suppose like other hypervisors prism's ip is the management one (AHV I don t get why it needs to have an IP). Also iscsi here is used as a metaphorical term since there isnt any embedded on the system right? At 4.24 if the DNS server was provided by an AD, it would be impossible during post of AOS to find it since the AD starts afterwards. Of course it has already pre configured DNS of those of Googles so it probably going to be ok. Lastly for this matter does AOS needs to be aware of the AD dns server ? At 4:30 you specified common NTPs without providing your area, I wonder how that works. 5.20 VLAN id default value is 1 not 0. Except if Nutanix has it different.
Thanks for the question, Talal. Passing the .Next credentials is a requirement for the use of Nutanix Community Edition. As such an internet connection is also a requirement.
So, no DNS was setup in episode 1. Now in episode 2, no DNS setup, but the .Next login requires connection to the .Next servers, which requires DNS to be functional. Where is DNS setup required? On the CVM?
So, Google DNS is configured by default. But that's no use if Google or any external DNS is blocked, which is possible in a home network when you consider the audience this video is aimed at. Heads up for anyone else facing this dilemma in the future after watching this video.
Legal software that collects personal and probably confidential data works like a virus. Be careful with passwords and important documents. Outgoing TCP ports 80 or 8443 opened through your firewall. That's why it's free

Is PRISM Central have same function like vCenter?

@@CollinBaillie I used a simple sudo vi /etc/resolv.conf to fix it during installation and creation of the cluster manually
Very good job guys!!!
Thanks lot
