Good report, very enjoyable as ever. Interesting to see someone persevering with such a big block, will be very curious to see how it goes over time. Very envious of the models and the cavalry and chariots thing is a lot of fun.
Was really nice seeing an orc o&g army. Everything else has been majority night goblins. Especially glad its the savages as I always wanted a savage army in 7th and 8th but never had money but guess who has adult money and may have already ordered a 2k army (minus the wyvern which I will as soon as its available) to get me back in the hobby.
Very nice batrep. Don't hesitate to take close shots (with traveling, it keeps it dynamic) of your units or the hero you are talking about, your army is beautiful (actually both of them, but damn the orcs
18:24 (TG Chariots charge chariot which flees): When an enemy chooses flee as a charge reaction and you don't reach them, you DON'T fail the charge and therefore go the full charge distance.
Yes we may have played that wrong - we werent sure at the time if Give Ground breaks the combat. If it doesn't then I assume Fbigo is the same as the wording on Follow up and Catching the Curs are identical
I thought you needed to be able to equip mundane armour in order to take magic armour? Savage orcs forgo armour to gain frenzy and warpaint. Can Savage orcs bosses have troll hide trousers?
There is no such thing as savage orcs now though haha - it is just an Orc Boss that has chosen to replace his light armour with the frenzy special rule!
The restriction for no armour is in warpaint not frenzy rule so i have taken it as you can have frenzy and magic armour but not warpaint and magic armour so my boss has talisman of protection and troll trousers. @porcu12345
@@porcu12345 Unless you can point to a specific rule saying that I don't know why it would be the case. Characters with no armor are considered to be on a +7 armor save in case their armor save is improved in any way.
I haven't played since 6th ed (or possibly 7th), but I remember that to get +2 on a rear charge, as at 27:30, you would need at least unit strength 5(?). Not familiar with this current rule set though.
Does this battle report make them 'a thing'? I thought it was Mr D6 Wounds being bloody minded and keeping the big unit despite the rules not favouring it as much as they did to see how it goes. Interesting that it was successful on this occasion, but it's only one battle and this one did seem to probably be won and lost in deployment more than anything else. Would it be a bad thing anyway if big units can be successful? Surely the game will be better if lots of different approaches can work and it would only be a problem if you had to go big to do well?
Feel like terrain and deployment definitely played a factor. On a different table that big unit could have been out maneuvered by the chariots and flanked.
Big units are still often the most viable choice due to them being points-denial.. expect to see them just as frequently, they just won't be rolling as many dice for attacks as before
Great rep. Quick and easy to follow. Keep em coming!
I really like the format. Doesn't take up too much of my life. When batreps are two hours... I could just watch a movie or something. Lol
Been watchin all your content. Loved Spirt of the game episode you did. This battle report was more top teir stuff.
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. More to come soon..

Cheers! Glad you’re enjoying them
Whoa, that classic Savage Orc block is a thing of beauty!
Great batrep. Great description of armies. Great play by play. Thank you!
Fantastic stuff - keep them coming! Thank you pal!

Awesome batrep. Love the slideshow format ❤

Those old metal savage orcs....man that takes me wayyyyyy back. Absolute beautys
Great video and your Orc army is perfection !
Cheers bud
Gorgeous 3rd/4th ed greenskins! And really nice concise battle report, just the right amount of detail
Really really well made battle report. Great work
Cheers!
Really great rep, nice one! No Settra with the royal legion though!
18:24 (TG Chariots charge chariot which flees): When an enemy chooses flee as a charge reaction and you don't reach them, you DON'T fail the charge and therefore go the full charge distance.
Nice report! I definitely had a chariot traffic jam on my left flank 😅.
Cheers mate!
amazing old scool orc army :D love it
Looked like a fun game! Good strategy for the O&Gs.
love all the old models
Nice looking army. Great report.
Great batrep and no BS. Also cool army choices and not the usual
Proper greenskins army there! Love that Tomb Kings army as well! I have both armies and it was a tough call which army I'd play first.
Very good report. Great!
Great report! Bigger bases really restricts your big units as it's super easy to make you get under your feet with it but yeah class!
Cheers!
I would drop that 8th Ed thing with huge units.. Smaller ones and you might get one into a flank charge now and then..
Who said hordes were dead?! 🤪
I don't think you could have stopped the challenge between the King and the boss and hit the Ushabti. They are to the death.

I had the same question

@@d6wounds but the point still stands, can he take troll hide trousers if he has no mundane armour?

You are correct but that rule disappeared in 8th I think which is what this guy has played most. [Units are too big]
@@morerobotwarscontent1476 I see, I had a feeling. Perhaps I will grab an old world rulebook at some point. 😅
Those big units are going to break and get wiped out, all he needs to do is have terror.
Cool
Great report! Add some ambient background music and this would be even better!
👍👍
Not happy to see that these huge regiments are still a thing.

Big units for undead are a huge points denial for sure
I'm pretty sure the savage orc character can't take trollhide trousers :(
Ah but there is no such thing as a savage orc in this edition!
