The dresser to the 3rd floor I think all apartment buildings should have a elevator so you can use a dolley for heavier packages that's not first floor level.
So glad peak is over. I just started delivering for amazon 2 months ago. Had a month to prepare then bam, peak. Now it's done and I'm excited for the lighter routes.
Just sharing the loss of a fellow FedEx driver, Manuel Alejandro out of Miami, 22, died as a result of being knocked out of truck due to an accident and not wearing a seat belt. Fell out the door and the truck rolled over. As a contractor, my biggest concern is the safety of my drivers.
@@Deliverypros I hope so, I would not let my drivers take out that truck since I can control that, I educate them then on using it. I wish my drivers would realize the value of sorting their trucks in the morning, makes all the difference in the game!
Those apartments that get wrongfully all billed as one stop... If you edit the address on the scanner and put the actual apartment number, you'll get credited for a separate stop on each on. We have a couple Apartments like this, 8 different apartments billed as one stop. Edit the address to reflect each unique apartment and get credit for 8 instead of one.
I worked for an amazon DSP, for just over a year before the contract wasn’t renewed. It was crazy. Our DSP switched delivery stations before we closed. Went from 60 stops a day in average, to over 100+, and now I’m delivering for Kroger where we max out at 20 stops a day, and drive up to a 65 mile radius from our fulfillment center or spoke as Kroger calls it.
@@Deliverypros you are right, it’s mostly small packages that can fit on the passenger side of the van, on average we do 70 stops a day, this past peek we were doing 100 stops a day, another downside is the vans that we use, some drivers still have DHL labeled vans but some of us including myself have these new white unmarked electric vans, which makes us look suspicious in the neighborhoods and causes alot of people to keep starring at me which makes me cringe and feel uncomfortable, and 2 weeks ago they gave us the bad news that DHL is predicting us to be really light for 2023 so 14 drivers had to be cut, I’m safe because of my time there, but i’d rather be busy with over 100 stops and running from stop to stop and getting that rush rather than doing 40 stops daily with DHL.
Bro don't be out here setting precedents like hauling ICs that are 70+ pounds up the stairs or delivering directly to apartment doors in secure buildings. These people start to develop unrealistic expectations and then start thinking they have a right to tell us how we do our jobs. Same thing goes for some of these business that have multiple department under a single address. No separate suites. Ex: a medical building with a pharmacy, clinic, and dental office. They get multiple packages for each department and seem to think we're responsible for distributing them accordingly. When in reality, they need to designate a single receiving location for all the packages. Also the large box stores that don't have a loading bay and try to tell us that we have to take their packages to the back of the store. Nope, our duty is to get your packages through the door you prefer to receive at, and nothing more. Now, I have absolutely no problem taking the packages behind the counter or into the next room or whatever, but these people that want me to take all their biz furniture down a 300ft hall.... No.
I have an idea, you do you, and I’m gonna do me 😂 you seem to think that there’s one way to do things and it’s your way. I try not to think like that. My videos are about “this is what I do, and it works for me.” If it doesn’t work for someone else they are welcome to do things a different way until they figure out what works for them. Thanks for watching boss 👍🏻 be safe out there
Really surprised by the lack of chewy boxes. At my station, chewy makes up a good chunk of a truck's volume. I'm from the east coast, never heard of amway but those boxes look gruesome. Keep it up! We're almost at the end of peak.
I’ll get one or two a day. I think the subscriptions in my area are just well distributed 😂 my volume has already started to decline 😳 I had 110 yesterday and 100 today. Hoping the rest of the week keeps up like that 😬 good luck man!
Some of those Chewy deliveries were horrible. I got lots of them at times when I worked for Home Delivery. They were either apartment buildings and it seemed the delivery was always a mile walk up stairs or the dog was mean.
Do you not where your seatbelt? Former UPS driver and would not dream of not wearing one. Using proper methods for startup there is no time lost buckling.
I'm an Amazon delivery driver, and I can honestly say that apartments stops are by far the worst on a route, they slow down the delivery process, and sometimes if you're lucky enough and someone who lives there comes by, they'll open the door for you, and sometimes you have to use the call box and literally over 90% of the time they won't pick up, and as an Amazon delivery driver, Amazon wants us to call the customer on the company device before marking it as "no access" or it would affect our delivery score card.
Woof. That sucks. I have one complex where the doors don’t open til 8 so I have to wait to get in. Other than that they’re all outside access for my. That blows man!
@@Deliverypros We also have what's called "Amazon Key" on our devices, which gives us access to the apartment complex,, but sometimes those don't work either and we're pretty much screwed, I usually just move on to the next stop.
When I did Home Delivery, I had a woman that kept ordering box fans like 3-5 at a time every few days then a few days later, she would send them all back claiming they were broke. It was obvious she was scamming the company and I told Fedex because she tried blaming me for breaking them. It got to the point I loaded them in the truck and took pictures of them loaded in the truck just to cover my butt. Finally, one day I get like 4 or 5 box fans. I go to deliver them and she comes outside and says she needs to inspect them before I leave since I break them. I said ok, let me get my phone. She said why do you need your phone? I said I'm calling the local Police and you can explain your scam to them because you're not fooling me. LOL I don't know if they banned her from ordering or if she gave up after that. I never delivered fans there again. Then I had a family who would order rugs. I don't mean like regular rugs. I mean rugs that would basically cover an entire wall. I couldn't lift them by myself. I ended up stacking them in front of her garage. She called to complain. Boss said what did she think you were gonna do about it? I end up getting sent back a few days later with more rugs. Boss said get them off the truck and get out of there. Once they are off the truck, they're no longer your problem,. Copy that boss, I backed into the driveway and tossed them out the back. They rolled all over the yard. See ya, I got the heck out of there. She never complained that I knew of.
Ya I thought I was gonna have to take it around to the front til I got there. On the other side there’s like 30 yards between the road and the front door so that was gonna be a nope. There’s a couple in a 3rd floor apartment that order this many or more sometimes. Not on the day I filmed this though haha and I’ve been here 2 1/2 years and the average time someone drives in our station in 6 months. So there’s not much rook about me 😂
I had the same experience when I was working for Home Delivery Contractor with Fedex. 200-250 packages a day was normal and that was before peak. The contractor paid 100 dollars a day flat rate. I loved the job but I was losing money on the job. I guess shortly after I quit, the contractor went out of business. He couldn't keep help.

I don’t get paid per stop, I get paid per day. And I’ve separated them like that before. They end up glueing back together every time.
