    This FCP feature is HUGE !!! I do a lot of photo editing in photo editors and convenient and accurate masking is a must and something that I always had trouble with when color grading my videos in FCP. And as always, thanks for the helpful tutorial Dylan

    This is the first video I’ve seen that explained all these options. I really love how now I can now put text behind subjects. I’ve wanted to do this for at least two years, but I never wanted to pay for a plug-in. Needless to say, I am through the roof with excitement
    As I said, no one explained this until I saw this video.
    That means I found value. So like button has been tapped, and comment has been made. This is what it’s all about. Really appreciate you, Dylan.👍🏾

    Hi Dylan, I purchased and am completing your FCPX color correction course and I must say that it has really changed my perspective on V-Log, with which I have always had a terrible relationship. 💥 It's really a very interesting course and I think everyone starting out with V-log should do it! ✌✌✌
    I also received the two Filming LUT packages. And here's my question: by applying the "Log" version I use it as if it were the Panasonic "V-log to 709", with the same order of correction as in your videos, right?
    But if I instead wanted to use the "standard" version, I can do so after applying the Panasonic Vlog to 709 and having done all the various steps (contrast-saturation-white balance). Correct? 👋

    Nice one Dylan! Two observations using the new feature - (i) it strangely doesn’t work as well when applied to an adjustment layer above the original clip (the AI really struggles to find the shape of subjects) so until that’s updated, for now best to duplicate clips and overlay them as you have showed (ii) The AI works amazingly when the footage uses a sharper aperture (2.8 or lower is ideal). Another good application of it could be with a grain (such as Film Convert) only applied to background and a non-grainy subject at the front, for a more cinematic look. Well done and also great timing on this video- on the pulse of apple updates! :) Alex

    • @dylanjohndickerson

      100%. I have to turn of mFilmLook and/or Dehancer for it to work. Which I also had to do with mRoto AI. I've also had it freeze on me when trying to rotoscope 25fps footage on a 24fps timeline. Thanks for watching, Alex!

    Can I use the mask to track an object with text? For example holding an object in my hand and a text following this object?

    • @dylanjohndickerson
      @dylanjohndickerson  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, you can't. You're looking for something like the object tracker in Final Cut Pro

    Can we reuse the masks that tracked before?

      Unfortunately, we cannot. I assume that we'll be able to in a future update though, since we can do it for the object tracker built into FCP

    Hi I have experienced the transcribe caption option is greyed out whereas the voiceover was in English & there was no sound effects & music in the timeline. I have restarted the FCP . But issue is remains same. I have MacBook Pro M1 & running on current version of MacOS 15.1

    Hey Dylan…I was refreshing MVFX mRotoAI when the new FCP dropped. AHA!!! I wonder about using the 2 different masks on the same clip? Have you tried? Maybe overkill?

      Hmm ya I personally don't know why you'd use two at the same time. I do think I'm going to create a video comparing the two.

      Sorry…just me being frustrated by a difficult track. All good. Your posts are the best, Dylan…keep it up!
