I’ve been using the 66’ version since July 2024, I’m really happy with the performance. It tunes 6m thru 80m no problem using the internal tuner in my FT-950 👍
I just bought the 36' one from Phoenix HRO. I'm all psyched about the install and getting back on the HF again. Update: I live in the "valley" and this time of year, I dread going outside. But the Ultimax 100 kept staring at me saying "get your butt out there and install me!" About hour later, I turned on my HF rig, and thinking, "okay so it seems to be working" Then couple of hours later, heard a POTA activation. So I did the dutiful. Contact. So easy, now I'm kicking myself... why didn't I do this sooner?! Very versatile and deployment is just like when you deploy antenna out in the field, it's so easy but it works really well. I may never go back to any other setup again. BTW, this antenna design is very similar to the antenna design deployed on a fighter planes during WWII. Not broken? No need to fix it!
I purchased the 24ft at Hamcation a couple of years ago and its performed great. Using my Ft710 paired with the MFJ969 and I get a near perfect SWR on 40. I have talked allover the world. Thinking of upgrading to one of the longer versions.

I noticed that the ultimax 100 comes with wire lengths of 24, 36, 49, 66 feet. is longer always better and can you change or is each unit set up for the specific length. I bought the 24 from HRO as my first HF antenna and was wondering if had I got one with a longer wire if I would have better performance.
If you have the space, get the longer antenna. The more antenna you have to receive a signal, the more of that signal you'll receive. Think of it like a fishing net... the bigger the net, the more chance you have of catching fish. 🙂
@@HamRadioOutlet So there would be no problem if I bought the 66 foot wire and replaced the 24 foot wire ? It seems that their DXTREME models are different designs that work most efficiently with the length of wire sold but maybe not so with the Ultimax 100.
I used the ultra max 100, not too bad for the price, but I built my own version at half the price using a unun from balun designs, but nonetheless the ultra max does a decent job
For the Ultimax 100 with bands 80M TO 6M, it is the 66 Ft. For the DXTREME End-Fed bands160M to 6M Antenna 124 Ft Long. These two will have the best performance. 73!
I bought the 40, 80 VEE and it works very well, SWR is LOW. I have it at the SPECS for height and ends off the GND. WORTH the $$. I switch from one vee to the 40, 80 and big difference, waterfall sure shows it. My 2c worth. HIH
Saw this at HRO it's not very long the antenna be good for H O A maybe inside some apartments or you live in a 4 plexs apartment type of building mite be able to hide it outside your place also some R V parks if you have a tree in your yard you hang it from

I just bought the ultimax 100 24ft from ultimax on ebay because I have limited space it's got to be better than no antenna at all.
I have used it with a Galaxy DX99V2. Great antenna

How high would the sloper need to be to work on 80 with a tuner?
25 - 30 feet should do it.
