At 05:15 Helen asks for compositional help with the left side roses. Be prepared to hit pause so you have time to study and possibly correct the placement. Also, during this lesson, Helen makes reference to another lesson and the link to it is in the description. Please share this lesson on social media.

I agree. I think Helen picked those two objects for the demo painting to emphasize the value of a dark background. Your continued support of the channel is greatly appreciated. Keep watching and posting.

I watched the video in one breath. Although my English is a second language, I understood every word. What a charming woman she is! Thank you, Helen

@@HelenVanWyk Thank you very much for your advice, but I enjoy Hellen English and have even learned from her talk. I am 88 years young and am trying to learn painting. I am from Russia and have lived in America for 30 years. I am happy to watch Helen teaching and to support the channel by telling how great this channel is. It is an honor for me to be a member. Blessings and Gratitude.

What you use for cleaning your brushes during painting?
And i have another question , is it okay and safe to use liquin as a medium? I paint in my room and i don’t have studio yet, i sleep and paint in the same room, is it okay?

Hello. Just to clarify, Helen passed away in 1994, so her recommendations were based on the materials and safety standards of her time. Helen often used turpentine for cleaning brushes and to keep them damp for smooth paint application. If you choose to use it or other solvents, remember to protect your hands with nitrile or other type of gloves and ensure proper ventilation due to the strong fumes. There are safer alternatives.
As for your other questions about using Liquin and painting in your room, I’m not in a position to give advice. I’d suggest researching materials carefully and considering your safety and comfort when working in a shared space. Thanks for posting and happy painting.
