Very interesting. I was told that my Great Great Grandfather took the lighthouse Masters last name Foster. I belong to the Fosters of Crosshaven Co. Cork.
Hi Mary - you could look for more info via Irish Lights as they have all the keeper records archived, and that could give you a time and place for Foster.
I have always had an interest in Lighthouses the more isolated the better. Especially in my earlier "Loner" days I would love to be a lighthouse keeper for at least a few years. Nowadays you just hear horror stories based on them. Good interview and video footage. Good list of those that passed tending the Light.
Hey Prep! Good to hear from you. There's one for sale on the Aran Islands according to the blog - bit pricey, though, considering planning is not possible on this listed building. I think people are always looking for more room in a house these days, but small and cosy with spectacular views seems better to me... and a lot cheaper to keep warm!
Thanks Robert. Yes it was great to meet him. The next film in the lighthouse series includes his interview at the harbour. I haven't got a number for him but if he texts me, it would be great to get a few shots of him at the shore for the final cut -which uploads next week? I hope to hear from him!

Lovely introduction to Irish lighthouses, and what a great production. Big fan of the Petes lighthouse blog
A beautiful little video. If you lived inland and didn't know much about lighthouses this is for you. Full credit to all involved.
Hi great video. my dad was talking to you in Donaghadee and you gave him your card.
