Hi MXGPTV team! Thank you so much for uploading the qualifying races that are so exciting too. I really appreciate it! Would be awesome if you keep sharing it with us. Congrats to RV. He definitely dominated that qualifying. I'm hoping to see Cairoli at front in this next GP of Thailand battling more with Desalle and Nagl. I wish luck to Paulin also aboard his HRC Honda. This season will be outstanding, no doubt. Greetings from Brazil.
RV is such a humble guy and always showing respect to other riders. He knows its a loong series and not all tracks will suit his style. After Qatar and the announcer openly mocking him calling him and ama fans ignorant. He could have very easily talked smack but he didn't.....and never will. Its not like he has many fans over there.I am hoping by his actions and words he will gain a following.Like always he will work hard and give it his best. RV has NOTHING to prove to ama fans and he will have our full support.Go! RV2
I am from the USA. Watching the MXGP for the first time because of RV.First an foremost, I hope everyone stays healthy . I want to see who the world champ will be in 2015. No BS talk here. The lap times tell the truth. RV dominated the qualifier. Cairoli might have had an issue with his bike after his wreck. We will see in the main if both riders get out in front.
i think we can all agree that the best racers in the world can come from deep in the pack to the front. we can also agree that who wins will depend largely who gets a great start and makes fewer mistakes. head to head RV2 and cairoli are pretty close. as always, in the US or GP, the better start often wins the most.
RV stalled the bike off the start somehow and took like 10+ seconds to get going and fell 2 times during the race. How is that the same to Cairolli falling once
Everyone else got to throw there two cents in so I guess I will too. I'm from America (just stating that now). I'm glad to see Villopoto doing well. He has a lot of expectations to go over there and essentially dominate and he did just that. His bike looks much better then it did last week. The suspension looks to be working leaps and bounds better, and it just looked more stable then everyone else's. I feel like the week between races really helped RV. However, with that said I'm not one of those people who think Ryan will just steam roll the competition this year. Keep in mind, Antonio Cairolli crashed in the first turn and still came back to 8th. That's a big deal people, that means he was on it! Plus moving through traffic and dealing with what looked like a shitty track(again...). I feel like the more jumps the track has the better Villopoto will do. Where as the deeper and more natural the terrain, the better Cairolli will do. Americans, don't let your egos get the better of you, this series is still open, Ryan is not the end all be all, and neither is Cairolli. I feel like we will see many different winners this year out of this field of riders. Now if only we could get better coverage and announcing of the races.
People always have to talk trash don't they... RV did awesome but most of those guys can be winners on any given day. Appreciate that these riders kick ass at what they do.
Well said. I cheer for my fellow American RV2, but it's a little embarrassing the things some are saying. It isn't just us though. There were some smack talking comments by Europeans after Qatar. Maybe the Americans are doing it a little more. We are not all like that. There are bone heads in every country. It's a shame. Villopoto was incredible in that race, but you are right. The other top riders will have their days as well. I just hope RV2 races smart and doesn't waste all that speed with an injury that ends his season. We shall see.
that's right. depending on their starts, any one of 5 guys can win on any given day. Barring injury I think RV will earn the world's respect with a strong finish in the series. whether he wins the whole thing or not, he'll go down as having the balls to cross the pond to battle the euros on their turf in a grueling series. I can tell you one thing, he got A LOT of people's attention in Thailand!!!!!!
yea he has to adjust. I'd like to see him and cianciarulo go at it. and cooper Webb. he's a tough little bastard. musquin's euro and he's doing well here. and roczen. i still think RV has the most guts for going over there. cheers!
See what i said on the qualifying race video of qata, ryan villopoto doesnt do good the first round, the second he always shows what he got! Nice race, really fun to watch this!
Qualifying or not, you can't deny RV was the fastest one out there for that race. Either everyone else wasn't trying (unlikely, seeing the battles that took place) or he's just on the throttle the whole time. Monster!
SABIA QUE SUSEDERIA!!! Thanks champ, some friends tollme about you first mistake, but now filling great! I can see you like the best rider in all World! RYAN VILLOPOTO NEW CHAMPION, no body reach the #2
It's good to see RV prove to the world and himself what he can do, but now that he has done it he needs to be smarter. No need in winning a qualifying race by a European mile. Even if he wasn't on the edge, the faster you go the more risk of a crash. He has the speed to podium or even win with a crash, but he won't be able to do squat with a broken bone. He needs to win all he can on the non-sandy tracks because Cairoli showed in 2012 MXoN what a beast he is in the sand by beating Dungey and Barcia by a German mile. He needs to back it down when he is in the lead like that so he takes the minimum risk of injuring himself. He needs to use his incredible speed wisely because there are a lot of races in the series and some really sandy tracks where Cairoli will have an edge. Good to hear him say he needs to tone it down some. I think he was just proving something to the fans, but mostly himself for his confidence. He proved what he needed to prove. There's NO DOUBT what he can do. Now he needs to work on the smart/long term part of it because Cairoli has that part mastered like he has the sand mastered. I'd hate to see him waste that speed and lose the championship because of crashes or injuries. Hopefully he wont. He has won enough championships here in the U.S. so he knows how to ride a smart season .
about time somebody made a smart comment. I think he came out to Thailand all fired up and ready to make a statement. maybe the adrenaline after he got the holeshot took over and he just pinned it. a confidence boost for sure and that's half the battle. I agree he has to manage his races better for his own safety, but I don't think that's how a guy like him operates in this type of scenario. It'll be interesting to see how he handles it. I'd rather see him avoid injury and wind up third than crash out with a season ending injury as the series points leader. now the sand will be a challenge. as fast as he is, I think cairoli has him beat there. RV will definitely use those rounds to ride a little more conservative because if he pushes it to cairoli's level he might wind up hurt.
Right on. We agree on pretty much everything. I think RV can run with TC in sand that isn't too deep, but in the really deep gnarly stuff Cairoli is too much. Maybe RV will get a points lead big enough on harder tracks to be OK if he Cairoli puts it to him on the sand tracks. Either way, Cairo ain't just gonna let RV walk all over him on harder tracks, and RV ain't gonna just let Cairoli walk on him on every sand track. They'll duke it out. Watching outdoor ama nationals from 2013 at Southwick and other tracks with sand, I realized RV is a pretty bad ass sand rider. He can do just fine or may even get Cairoli in the shallower sand. At Lommel...no. I think Cairoli will win there even if he had square wheels. I think the championship will be back and fourth and down to the wire. It's cool that the last race will be st Glen Helen. We know who's damn sure gonna win that one. Lol. Brrraapp...
Yeah he went full throttle too long for sure and took an unecessary risk but I think he knows better now. By the 5 min mark he had a 10-20 second lead. He should've just cruised. He did make a clear point though on how fast he can go when he wants to. I think he could've caught the leaders in moto 2 but decided to ride smart and safe to get good points. Just like Cairoli did at Qatar. At Qatar Cairoli was fastest qualifying but rode safe in the race instead of going all out for the win so early in the season. Smart riding when it's best, and they can haul ass when they really need to. Just what champions do.
Hey man where ya been? I've been keeping up with mxgp this year. Tim Gajser is a beast. I love watching that dude ride. He's a natural on a 450. Awesome. Herlings looks awesome, but they need to put him in mx1 to see how good he really is. He's too quick for mx2. Making mx2 boring. I want to see him on a 450 going head to head with Gajser and Febvre every week. That will be cool to see. THAT will tell how good he really is. I went to a supercross this year in Dallas and I've been to two ama nationals. The big argument over who the best rider in the world is.....let me tell you. The best rider in the world is an American/European mix. That is Ken Roczen. A German world champion that surfs in California and races AMA. When he's healthy and his bike is dialed in, make no mistake....that is the best rider in the world. Indoors, outdoors, in Europe, in America. Doesn't matter. That dude can win anywhere against anybody. I've seen him race in person indoors and outdoors this year. He has no weaknesses. None. Sick fast on any surface and any kind of track. Amazing. Dungey, Tomac, Febvre, Gasjer, Herlings, Barcia,..... all good, but Roczen is the man right now. Nobody can beat that dude. Good Lord!!
+Richard does it matter Yeah but why do you say "let's see who's faster Roczen or Herlings"? If Roczen is in ama and Herlings is mxgp, then..?? On outdoor tracks Herlings is a match for anybody i know. When i said Roczen was the best it was because he has beaten the best of the best in Europe, in America, and in ama supercross. Roczen is as fast as as the best riders on all surfaces. Herlings is wicked fast on European tracks and I'm sure he would be wicked fast on ama tracks if he rode them, but he isn't good at supercross. He doesn't like it. Roczen is one of the few in history that has proven he is an elite badass anywhere indoors or outdoors. Look at his results in MXON events on a 250 against 450s. The domination in supercross premier class the last several races. His total domination of Dungey and Tomac outdoors so far. Incredible. Good enough to be an ama 450 champion, 450 supercross champion, and mxgp champion in mx1 if he wanted to i think. Of course its all a guess, but he has the crefentials to be called the best overall motocross rider in the world. Herlings is on his level outdoors, but only outdoors. Gajser is better on a 450 than 250. i'd like to see Gajser and Herlings go at it on 450s but it looks like we may not see that. It will be cool as hell to see an mxgp MX1 champion jump right into ama. That will be interesting. Roczen, Musqin, etc were mx2 mxgp champions. Having an mxgp current mx1 champ jump into ama is different. kinda like when RV went there. I highly doubt if Gajser will jump out there and win an ama title. He has the talent but has to adapt...just like RV there. He will be up in the top 5 to 7 I think the first year. maybe better. Maybe win one. who knows. Yes Herlimgs is sick fast, but like i said...only outdoors. Gajser has an aggressive style well suited for ama and supercross. lots of scrubbing. He hauls ass. I'm shocked at Herlings switching to Honda and Cairoli too?? Is Roczen switching to Honda?? or did I misunderstand? Honda is aquiring the all the top dogs it looks like. I cheer for Cairoli now all the time. such a legend and a nice guy. a good sportsman. Humble champion. Age is against him now. I've become a Cairoli fan. Herlings is a nice kid too. Doesn't seem arrogant. If he stays healthy I believe he will be the next dominating mx1 champion but i think he's gonna have some hell with Febvre. Just like Gajser, Febvre is a better 450 rider than a 250 rider. Herlings is a beast on both, and the best sand rider of all time. It will be interesting to see him in mx1. Seeing Gajser in ama will be interesring.... and don't forget Dylan Ferandis is coming to the U.S. and to race 250 ama and supercross. next year will be a crazy year indeed.
After watching this, I've gained a HUGE respect for our mx commentators in the US. Say what you want about Ralph, Jeff, and Ricky-but they make the races more exciting and more personal. By the end of this video,I gained no knowledge about any riders, the track condition, or the teams. This league has good racers, but it'd be harder to follow for sure
I start to cry when I see the elite of motocross ride a GP on a track like this..... If they only understood that they're the only ones who can do something about it!

That's what RV does! Over and over again. Still manages 4 SX titles and several outdoor titles. That is why he is so fun to watch. You know he's gonna wad or put in a good result.
I'm a huge RV2 fan and I'm glad that he won this race and got that off his shoulders. But damn people are seriously taking this too seriously. It was a qualifying race. During his interview, he says that "i still have to learn and maybe i went too hard there today" so clearly he knows that this win means fuck all. All the RV2 fans gotta chill. If he dominates the same during the race, then we can talk our shit ahahaha.
This is motocross, anything can happen. For sure it was a strong ride and he looked comfortable. No one ever said he couldn't win races in the MXGP, but it's not a given that he is going to wipe the floor with everyone. There are a lot of other strong competitors who have just as much of a chance of winning.
To call it qualification is kinda a misnomer, if it were truly a qualification race Cairoli would be the overall winner not villopoto. The first race is just as important as the second. Villopoto's fastest was more than 2 seconds faster than Cairoli. Cairoli is a great rider as is Villopoto.
give him some time. you'll see improvement. it's round 3. and who says RV needs "easy" tracks to win. you haven't followed his career have you? every time he raced a full season he has won the title. and I'd like to see cairoli come to the US and win one supercross, RV2 has won 4 in a row.
If the rest of the tracks on the schedule are like this; no braking bumps, no whoops and no deep ruts in the corners, I predict more performances of this type. RV2 is too agressive into/out of turns to be beaten by these riders if he gets good starts.
the only reasonable and observant comment I've read all day. not a lot of breaking bumps or elevation changes. I did notice this track had some of those big whoops like the ones at Millville and there were even some at Daytona this past weekend. You're right on about his cornering speed. nobody's better.
+Richard does it matter sick dude. Let's see glen Helen this year and maybe a retired American named josh grant won't win this year... Oh and a 250 rider named cooper Webb won't place 3rd in mx1 but who knows
Just in case you euros didn't already know. Ryan's gonna take your little FIM championship #1 plate and taking it to merica. Cairoli so intimated he can't even stay on 2 wheels lol what a scrub
THXS MXGPTV!! ....Definitly keep the vids coming, very nice to be able to watch on here....Go RV2!
Hi MXGPTV team!

Greetings from Brazil.
thank you for posting the full length of qualifying
มันสุดๆจัดอีกนะครับ ขอบคุณmxgp
Fan? This guy is god of racing! Ryan we love you! Period
That was really Amazing qualifying, very fast RV. Good luck for race, cant wait..

Cairolli crashed in the first corner and started from last position and still got 8th. Thats like RV did in Qatar and it was such a big deal. :D
+ RV fell twice ;)
jesper lindström not in qualifying
kaschemme1 he fell in heat 1 twice and stalled the bike and got 8 place ^^

An RV2 fan here. Agree top riders here are kick-ass too. Anyone who gets the holeshot has the great chance.

that's the agressive RV we know. He doesn't look as agressive as this in Qatar. It would be great season.
Awesome! RV was looking way more comfortable than last week, track is quite clearly suited to him, cant wait or the race :)
RV is in!! This is the RV ive been waiting to see..!!!
yea he has to adjust.
Well, thats the RV everyone knows & he'll only get better with every moto..
haahahhah
never seen a rider in the last 2 years with this type of domination. GO TEAM RV.
Looks like the real RV has shown up
obrigado pela postagem, aqui do Brasil.

RV is the best all-around racer on the planet. he would be the first one to tell you he doesn't expect to "dominate" GP.
Richard it doesn't matter
My boy killin it! Ryan looks mint on amd off the track! A man now . He is just superior
SABIA QUE SUSEDERIA!!!

I know this was last year, and higher level, but how do i get into motocross? Where to start?
might be a bit late but first you have to get a dirtbike and learn how to ride, depends on where you live you can find tracks/races easily.

เชียร์เทอร์โบครับ เทอร์สู้ๆนะ✌✌✌
Раин красава! душа радуется за тебя удачи друг!
It looks like an easy track....kind of like lorettas good luck to rv2 in the races!!!
All this hate between vilio and euros wauw.. kids these days... Just respect both partys and let the best win. no need for hate.
If RV rides like this, he wont get to the end of the season. He was close to the edge... Nice ride.
That's what RV does! Over and over again. Still manages 4 SX titles and several outdoor titles. That is why he is so fun to watch. You know he's gonna wad or put in a good result.
Ryan Colvin You're mixing him up with James Stewart bro!
He's been riding like that for years. He's not riding over his head. He's just that fast. I know, it doesn't seem possible does it?
LOL...keep telling yourself that. RV does not end up on the dirt much outdoors. Most of his injuries have been in SX.
If he dominates the same during the race, then we can talk our shit ahahaha.
he's just being humble
he won the overall the next day. now we can talk some shit!
ผมเคยไปดูอยู่นะรอบนั้น สมัยม.ปลาย
Ryan went out there and made a statement that last weeks woes are behind him. I mean good god, he checked out by lap 2!
Haha calm down everyone it's qualifying...
At Qatar...RV finished about the same as he qualified. He will do the same here.
This is motocross, anything can happen. For sure it was a strong ride and he looked comfortable. No one ever said he couldn't win races in the MXGP, but it's not a given that he is going to wipe the floor with everyone. There are a lot of other strong competitors who have just as much of a chance of winning.
"it's qualifying" but euros were talking shit for the Qatar qualifying when AC222 won it, now rv wins. it's "calm down"
Over a second faster than anybody in practice, its not just qualifying.
qualifying or not he won the race by 30 seconds
and followed it up with the overall the next day.
Get used to it boys... He only gets better as the season goes on.
This is the Villopoto we know. :)
I tought it was MXGP not a SXGP...
give him some time. you'll see improvement. it's round 3. and who says RV needs "easy" tracks to win. you haven't followed his career have you? every time he raced a full season he has won the title. and I'd like to see cairoli come to the US and win one supercross, RV2 has won 4 in a row.
The race ended even before the first lap was completed when RV's leading & Cairoli's down. No race at all...
Actually Europeans have a lot of respect for Villopoto.. Last race were more the Americans than the Euros to say shit about his performance..
I feel if RV came back to the states he would be even more dominant
i understand this is qualifying but holy crap if thats RVs qualifying riding imgaine when he goes balls out !!
Grande Villopoto, però aspettiamo la gara...
sooo many fans at this track....
Relax, it's qualfying... Nobody cares. Rv has his hands full, and all odds are against him. Cairoli will be tough to beat.
Why don’t you show the leader? Oh, because he’s American and the FIM has something against us.
Now THIS is Villo. Go get 'em.
No commentators? Paul Malin so sad he had to leave the commentary booth ?
If the rest of the tracks on the schedule are like this; no braking bumps, no whoops and no deep ruts in the corners, I predict more performances of this type. RV2 is too agressive into/out of turns to be beaten by these riders if he gets good starts.
the only reasonable and observant comment I've read all day. not a lot of breaking bumps or elevation changes.
I did notice this track had some of those big whoops like the ones at Millville and there were even some at Daytona this past weekend. You're right on about his cornering speed. nobody's better.
RV2 just holeshotted moto 1. I'll keep you posted.
10 minutes in and Villopoto is leading by about 9 seconds.
20 minutes in and RV2 ha a 13 second lead.
Half an hour in and RV2 has a gap of 11 seconds over the rest of the field.
And... Villopoto wins by over 10 seconds. Sorry Europeans, but the hype is real.
Richard Loots sos un piedrudo :-D
Did #2 RV lap everyone?
What do the RV doubters have to say now?
nothing?
thought so.
I see where RV is starting to warm up a bit.
Cant wait till glen helen when RV will be in a 30s lead XD, JK , but i guarantee he will win Glen Helen.
where is the crowd??? cant the com out without a towel on the head like in quatar?
of course rv I doubt that any other foreign riders can really compete with American riders only a select few can
+Richard does it matter sick dude. Let's see glen Helen this year and maybe a retired American named josh grant won't win this year... Oh and a 250 rider named cooper Webb won't place 3rd in mx1 but who knows
TOTAL DOMINATION - I hope he gets this start luck on the motos that count
Mantul
Will the real RV please stand up!
Kerassss kaliii tanah nya bung, sampai susah kontrol motor
RV2 super moto rider! he's the best, I knew it
สนามนครชัยศรีมันกว่าศรีราชา
Just in case you euros didn't already know. Ryan's gonna take your little FIM championship #1 plate and taking it to merica. Cairoli so intimated he can't even stay on 2 wheels lol what a scrub
What's your fucking problem with RV
Didn't think I would ever say this but I miss ralph
ไม่มันส์เลย โปโต้ขี่อยู่คนเดียว น่าจะมี jame stewat ryan dungy chad reed พวกนี้มาด้วย คงบี้กันสนุก
