- After 1 year and 60+ nights of camping we give you our Honest Review of the RTIC 65 Cooler. If you are an avid camper, the cooler is a key piece of camping gear. This is probably our 5th attempt to find a cooler that will keep our food cold for at least 4 nights.

I bought my Rtic 20 last year during their black Friday sale and 1 month later I got the Rtic 65, both in tan color. These are the best coolers I have ever owned. Kept my beverages chilled for 5 days in a Baja 1000 run with no issues. The initial investment might seem steep at first but think about the longevity of the product and how you probably won't ever need to buy another cooler for a very long time.

My biggest thing is 52 or 65 at this point! It definitely was hard to justify before I started going to festivals -- but now after years, I have waited WAY too long for a nice cooler. This is one of the biggest no-regrets-attatched investments I think I'm going to ever make. Buying one now, thanks for warning us about the, uh.. booby-trap feature.
If you have the space the larger cooler is a good option.

Definitely a cooler I would buy. The price point and performance is a seller. The Yeti and Hooked cooler are just overpriced because they are made in the usa. I'll go for the Rtic anyday. Same performance better bargain. The 65 looks like it could swallow alot of beer cans!
Yeti is not made in the USA. Cordova, some Canyon, Bison, Lifetime, Igloo are the only made in the USA that I am aware of.
What were the temperatures when camping?
Temperature highs were in the low 90’s.

There was only one sized basket when we ordered so not sure.

Rtic is yeti if you don’t want to pay extra for a 4 letter different name. If you want to flex your wealth. Yeti. If you want a yeti but don’t want to drop $350 for a cooler but want same quality rtic
I will say that I will never order another soft cooler from them because one that I bought crapped put after 3 years of light use. I do believe there is a quality difference in the soft coolers. I decided to give them a second chance, but going hard cooler this time, ordered the 45 with wheels. That is the only knock I can think of on the hard coolers is that they are heavier than Yeti. . Every pound counts when loaded up on a cooler especially with age.
