Loudenslager, Wagstaff, and now Rob Holland. I am lucky I have lived so long to have been lucky enough to see all three. Each setting the bar higher and higher with class, grace and humility. What a lovely sport.
Saw Rob Holland yesterday at the Geneseo Air Show. Awesome flying maneuvers! A friend next to me kept looking away at the "wrong moments" and missed some great maneuvers. Great aerobatics! Great mastering of the aircraft. "Thanks, Rob."
very nice flying and a good video footage... very steady and pilot's perspective I can appreciate. My Skybolt gets me about 1/3 of the way to where you can get, but open cockpit is a different kind of fun sometimes... one day hope to work out some original music for an aerial ballet work to be shot in Florida... I did one years ago about cruise sailing, but my aerobatic/low and slow music/film is still a ways away... hope to meet you sometime to perhaps collaborate. Best, Ed
pretty amazing what he can accomplish aerobatically in a meer 10 min. would love a few lessons from him. Awesome. I'm looking forward to advancing on to intermeiate this year in my new laser 230. got the coolest plane around my parts anyways. only had it up 2 X =- as there is no heat so I'm looking forward to an early spring and warm temps - at least above frezzing. haha. keep up the amazing flying rob.
@lelekoJumboJet, the music in the video is from the movie soundtracks of Pirates of the Caribbean, while Hans Zimmer's Requiem For A Dream plays when he begins part two of the demo
Brilliant mate!! Definately gonna watch that again, but on my desktop with wide monitor and surround speakers at full chat. But not tonight as my sleeping missus will kill me. Will look to see what else you've uploaded. Brilliant.
It's probably just because we're looking through a lense... and a fish eye, too. And regardless of if you can tell exactly how high you are from looking out the canopy, you still have the altimeter, which in this video, was spinning like crazy at times!
I'm surprised TH-cam allowed this much epic in one video. (For those wondering, there are music pieces from Pirates of the Caribbean, Elder Scrolls (Skyrim, etc.) and Requiem for a Dream. Don't know who's performing. Trans-Siberian Orchestra, possibly?)
Gotta love the Pirates theme here over water. Great choice. Anyway at 18 when I was getting my private ticket, banking to 60 degrees bothered me early on, but I got used to it and started liking pushing the envelope. Then spin training sold me during the commercial ticket. What fun! Not that I'd want to get into pro aerobatics as a career, but how in the world do you get to this level?
I really need one of those fly it like you stole it stickers! also rob, im pretty sure i saw you practicing today over nashua while i was on my way to a flight lesson!
Rob, as a fellow pilot, that is absolutely inspiring. Some questions: 1) what parts of that do YOU consider to be difficult? 2) is it much work to roll out dead level after aileron deflection near Vne? 3) does it take a lot of physical effort to work the controls at high speed like that? (my Lancair gets super stiff at high speed) 4) are you exhausted after the flight? 5) what are your favorite and least favorite parts of flying that display? Again, blown away. Thank you for sharing.
OMFG! I need to create multiple youtube profiles just so I can give you more thumbs up!!!! I was there, by the way. I'm the little black dot on the sidewalk next to the pier! Thank you for posting!!! Only one request, maybe just a little tiny bit of ambient engine/cockpit noise in the background? EXCELLENT music choice, but I'd love to hear that engine scream.
So.... last night i watched this while being drunk, and I woke up this morning covered in puke and this video on repeat... now i need a new keyboard :( that's just how fucken awesome this video is..
That is why Rob Holland has the SICKEST airshow of every performer I have seen. Truly spectacular!
Love watching this guy fly, AMAZING SHOW. See ya in a few months!!
Loudenslager, Wagstaff, and now Rob Holland. I am lucky I have lived so long to have been lucky enough to see all three. Each setting the bar higher and higher with class, grace and humility. What a lovely sport.

@Faucon551237
Sure. Whatever you say. I don't suppose you have anything else you think I should know about?
I wonder if the water screws with your depth perception...
what song is it 5:05 ?
Still within the yellow arc therefor not exceeding VNE. What you think is the end of the yellow arc is just a shadow.

fly it like you stole it... XD
@Faucon551237
Well if you think otherwise then more power to you.
