u should recreated the same 1st dress with the knowledge you have now and i think it'll be crazy to see the actual difference between your first dress then and first dress now.
Honestly you did really well with that first dress considering the materials you were working with - it's cool to see how far you've come though! Challenge idea - either a TH-cam short or a TikTok (or both) of you spinning in a circle wearing one of your dresses, only each spin is a different dress, from the first one you made until now! (Hard to film probably but the results would be neat I bet!)
Holy cow! I can’t believe you’ve only been sewing for two years! Your skills are incredible! I also love that you didn’t disparage your first dress. We all have to start somewhere! (And honestly I’d be thrilled if that was my first ever sewing project).
Micarah's chaotic energy removes a lot of the fear of beginning to sew. It gives a sort if reckless bravery to Just Do It. And then Alexandra just has such a focused, Get It Done energy that's so motivating ♥️
I wish I could hit the “like” button a dozen times! You’re so charming and this video is so informative and inspiring. It’s awesome to see how far you’ve come in your sewing journey in such a short period of time. Can’t wait to see what else you have in store!
Wow! That is crazy impressive that you pulled that off for your first make, and how far you’ve come! I’ve been sewing for 5+ years and been sticking to basics. I think it’s time to up my game and try more advance fancy garments like you!!!
I think it would be really cool if you got the fabric that you made your first dress from and redid it with the lessons that you've learned that past two years
❤️ I love Mikarah Tewers as well. She's got such fun videos, and her measurements always make me feel better about sewing myself, because I don't know how, but I can never get measurements with a measuring tape to line up quite perfectly.
You've made an amazing progress! And you made the very first dress based only on Micarah's video😀that's quite an achievement! Her videos are entertaining, and I love her content, but it's not exactly tutorial for beginners LOL
you are inspiring me !! been watching beginners sewing videos nonstop for a while and am ready to pick it back up since middle school haha.. also the anna dress is gorgeous- loved the video!
Arghghgh yes! I also made my first dress by watching Micarah Tewers - so cool to see that you did too! I think I even used the same video, the prom dress one.
Alexandra. This is so inspirational because I am an older woman and I just barely having the courage to sewand make something beautiful now. I had bough my first sewing machine over 7 years ago and never had the bravery to make something because I wanted to start of perfect and eneded gaving up untill present time I just started to make small things but it looks like your first dress due to not having all the things I need to make it look like your second dress. It is inspiring because in only 2 years it looks so amazing! It inspires me to keep trying and continue learning to make something beautiful as your second dress. Thanks for being real and honest on you sewing journey!
Hey Alexandra, have you ever considered making the fastening gap openings in your skirts and petticoats into pockets? Not only will you have possibly better concealing for the gap, it’s pockets! Who doesn’t love pockets?
I use old t-shirts to make my daughters Disney/Pixar inspired dresses, without a surger, and I use rectangle skirts. 😆 Obviously, totally different projects for different purposes (and I'm much more of an amateur). But you're making me want to get a surger. 😅 My husband will be thrilled. Also, I missed the part where you mentioned using a @MicarahTewers ' tutorial and then heard you say "she's showing you how to make things in non-traditional ways.......like the size of a Snickers bar." And I instantly knew who you were talking about. 😂
That dress was the first thing you made?!😳 I first made dresses for my dolls. I think I started at around 6. With the doll's items, they'd always get their head or arms stuck, it was so frustrating! Now, I leave it at fixing holes, replacing buttons etc. I know my limits!😄
This is really insightful! Such quality between the first and current/recent dresses,my dear person of the Internet, keep up the good work there, friend! Now,WEIRD request here, but in the time/spirit of Halloween next month, could you do a recreation of Lydia's (red) Wedding dress from Tim Burton's Beetlejuice next time, please? ( _That,or Corsoe bride, your choice._ )
You should totally have a collaboration with Micarah! I'd love to see what you both come up with! (I mean, if you want to) I share your dream of becoming a costume designer for theater. I'm still at the very early stages of learning (I can't just wing it lol), but your channel just inspires me with so many ideas for projects I don't have the expertise for lol. I check in on your channel nearly every day. For now, I'll try to stick to the Emma (2020) inspired Regency dress I'm working on. P.S. Now that you've acknowledged Broadway's existence... Can you make Glinda's bubble dress in Wicked? It doesn't have to be accurate (The original weighs 40 pounds, has 68,200 hand stitched sequins, a strange 5 layer petticoat instead of a hoop skirt, and about 64 petals. It's a lot, but I'm sure you can do it if you wanted to), I'd just love to see how you'd make it!
Hi... Just want to say how ✨AMAZING✨ all of your dress are... You have been making a lot of princess dresses and im just wondering if you ever think of recreating manhwa dresses or have you ever interested in one before... There are a lot of amazing manhwa out there but im going to mention "Who Made Me a Princess" because its my fave in terms of artstyle and how ✨STUNNING✨ the dresses are🤣🤣🤣... Just my opinion in case you interested... Looking forward to your future project and will always support you🌹🌹🌹
hey! love your videos! i find them a bit hard to watch with headphones though because of the audio peaking/clipping, if you'd like some help with that, I do audio work professionally & would love to help give pointers to tweak some of the audio for the youtube vids if you're interested (i have an professional email on my channel). otherwise keep up the awesome work, it's so fun to watch your creations take shape!!!

It always sparks joy when the sewing people I watch cite each other 🥰 Alexandra, Micarah, Bernadette, and more 🎉
You actually did such a great job on your first garment! I’m super impressed! Obviously your skill has increased incredibly!

I honestly like the huge grommets, it's such a delicate dress that that gives it a eye catch
I love seeing what creators learned over time and hearing how your process has changed. Great video!
