Many young tabla players of today who style themselves 'Ustad', could try and learn from his style and baaj. The attached piece where he accompanies Ustad Salamat Ali Khan is a gem in Pahadi by the father and son duo. It would have been wonderful to have a more complete recording of it here. Its 100 % ustad Hashem. This was in Gernany between 1991-1994. Ustad Hashem is 1. slimmer than Ustad Asif 2. Ustad Hashem didn't press the bhaja as firm as Ustad Asif.

I was told that is Ustad Arif the younger brother of Ustad Hashim that plays with Ustad Salamat Ali Khan.
