I just ordered 2 of these for my Kraken X63 rad, can't wait to see how much lower my temps will be under load, though I probably won't let them reach 3000 rpm, too loud, but good to know it's there if I do ever need it
@@RESURRECT2 sorry for the late reply. Temps went down 10-12°C under load, stayed the same for idle. You'll def have to play with the fan curve, so make sure you plug into PWM supported connections. On stock Kraken X63 radiator fans I got 78°C under load after 10 minutes of Cinebench. With these Noctuas I get no higher than 68°C after the same time on Cinebench. EDIT: Normal gaming load temps went down as well. For example, I used to get up to 65°C while playing MSFS, now it won't go over 60°C. They are quiet also, as long as you don't go over 30% you won't really hear them, silent to me at 25%. Just play with the fan curve. If you'd like I can post mine tonight when I get home. It's quiet but very effective.

as you are gently increasing the speed im ''gently'' reducing the volume on my 5.1 speaker setup xDDDD got 4 of this devils, i know first hand how they sing on speeds above 1500rpm. oh word of note to everyone, this fans are high amperage, that means you DO NOT want to power more then 1 of em from mobo fan header, and even if you do power just one, make sure you use high amperage fan header for it, or you gonna fry the header. power em from sata cables or molex.

bloody hell tbh if you having to run these kind of fans in a gaming setup at them speeds there is something wrong with your setup i couldnt have a rig with loud fans like that even for my 4090 i going lower but a huge thankyou for convincing me on not to get them will stick to the quiete ones and use great airflow 3000rpm is crazy amount and sounds awful great video and a very well done
Haha, im still using them. They just work perferct, silent and powerfull if you need it. And the best part of them, they don't break. I have tryed so many fans and all of them start to make noises after a few years.
I disagree, these fans are absolutely essential for gaming. Even an overclocked RTX 4090 must never dare to challenge Noctua with anything over 2 degrees Celsius.
The headroom is there if you need it. But if you play resource heavy games like BeamNG Drive or Forza Horizon 5. These wouldn’t be a bad idea. Especially if you live in a hot area.

I had serious problems to get my boosted ryzen 9 5900x under 90°C while gaming. First I. tried it it with the arctic 360aio water cooler but it didn't work. - temperatures was still at 85°C and idle at 65°. Then I got my deepcool assassin 2 air cooler. With stock-fans it was better but not great. Then I ordered 2 of these noctua industrial fans with 3000rpm and got 45° at idle and 67°at long time playing high end games in 1440p with rtx 3080.fans run at 50% and the noise is OK. - the air passage of these fans is awesome.
Something isnt right, i have a 5900x, tuned to 4.6(cb)-4.8(aida) all core loads and 5.1ghz boosts in windows and gaming, my idle is like 28c and max is in low 70's (synthetic) and gaming around 60c. Currently running a 240 and a 280 in a custom loop that my gpu is also in, so in reality less than 1 360 for the cpu. Even in i run prime and donut of death i aint hitting 90!
How do you control the RPM's ? does Noctua have a Fan controller hub thing ? or are you using a particular software ? I want these fans for my new build XD
@@forceawakened8084 I did notice that my idle temps as well as max temps were down than what they were earlier. Also the coolant temp is down from what it was earlier. I am in India and don't use an AC so my ambient room temp using a ceiling fan or a cooler ranges between 20 to 28 degree C depending on the outside climate. Earlier the coolant temp always used to be above 33 or 34 degrees C. I was using a push pull but with the lower RPM noctua and the corsair ml140 fans. Now I have seen the coolant temp below 30, ranging from 24 to 28 degrees C. My CPU idle temp is in the 30s than the 40s earlier. Load temps are in 70s than the earlier 80s. So I have seen an improvement... Not sure if I would have got the same result with only 2 fans or maybe I would have.
Haha yes they can, but you could try a custom Fan curve with MSI afterburner, or a repaste, the 780 is Not the jungest Card. Clean, repaste, fancurve, and good airflow keeps your stuff alive.
@@Runliquid @Run liquid Already put the fans at 100% manually when playing, cleaned it up completely, repasted it with some brand new MX4, but I think my problem might be airflow. I have a Masterbox Q300L with some slightly cheap Apenia fans for intake in the front, and the stock fan that came with the case as exhaust in the back. I'm planning on putting two Noctua fans in the front of the case as intake, 2 Phanteks SK140 fans in the top as exhaust, and another Phantek SK140 on the back as an exhaust as well. Also planning to maybe use an old Apenia fan as a bottom intake fan. My GTX 780 has an ACX cooler, which from I take are supposed to be pretty good, so I'm hoping my problem all along was case airflow.

The sound of the air being moved around isn't aggressive & annoying.

Decent motherboards have 1 amp headers and these (in 120mm, 140's are thirsty..) rated for like .35...

Can you tell us what the power draw is at different intervals? Starting from Min RPM and increasing in 100 RPM increments until 2k RPM?

you won't need push pull just 2 fans on one side is enough.

Update: Noctua fans arrived. I'm starting to regret this a little. They sound like a legit jet engine.

No because they need a high Start volatage, low Speed Fans with pwm always make funny noises ^^ so Go 4 dc.

300rpm minimal but they start at a higher rpm.
300 rpm seems possible on my two 2000 rpm variant of those fans.
