"Abhijnana Shakuntala" (The Recognition of Shakuntala) is a Sanskrit play by the ancient Indian poet 'KALIDASA'. The drama tells the story of Shakuntala, a beautiful and gentle woman raised in a hermitage, and King Dushyanta, who falls in love with her during a hunting expedition. They secretly marry, but due to a curse by the sage Durvasa, Dushyanta forgets Shakuntala until he sees a ring he had given her. After many trials and separation, they are finally reunited, and their son Bharata becomes a great king. The play beautifully explores themes of love, loss, and divine intervention.
