I never regret my 2 years working there in Suriname. I love Paramaribo. I love my 12 hrs journey driving on my 4 WD alone reaching Apoera in thick muddy road during rainy season ALONE every week!!! What an experience. Hope I can come back there someday. Missin' all my Surinamese friends there! Greetings from Java, Indonesia...

How is their beach look like? do they have any souvenir shops, restaurants, etc etc along the beach for tourists?
Its an sort down town and no its not a beach they do sell souvenirs but not beach items

Thanks for the video. Although I grew up in Trinidad, I know very little about Suriname. The video surely did not give me the Caribbean feeling. I guess the Dutch influence is very strong there. My first impression was that there were no high-rise buildings. Other things that I noticed were the barriers along sidewalks (I saw them in New Amsterdam, in Holland), the shape of the roofs on the buildings, and the pillars supporting the front of the buildings. The roads and some of the pavements seem to be poorly surfaced, which I was surprised to see because it is such a large city. They are fortunate to have the land to have such wide streets. I did not expect the streets to be so wide. I read about population, but I did not see any diversity in this video.

I don't know what is voucher visa but the visa fee for suriname is about 55 us dollars.

SURINAME is just another Africa, there's no difference both streets and way of life.
First Africa is a continent and Suriname is a country. And their language, culture and food is completely different.
I think there are some differences between south America and Africa.
I have not been to either, but I have seen many videos from Africans showing different African cities and towns. The city of Paramaribo looks completely different from any African city that I have seen. There is more of a Dutch influence here. I have not seen what a Dutch colony in Africa looks like. We are talking about the appearance of the place. There is a very diverse population here, but somehow, I did not see it in this video.

Please, no negative remarks. Georgetown and Guyana has seen its bad days over the decades. I know, because I have been there many times for decades. I saw what politics has done to Guyana. You must be a very young person to not know the condition that I have seen the country in for decades.
