In this episode, Shree Sundarkumar (Aka KanjiraMan) and Balamurali Krishna have a conversation on Mridangam, presenting their creativity drawing upon inspirations and adaptations from a variety of sources. This dialog culminates in an interplay between Mridangam and konnakol (the South Indian art of vocal expression of rhythm).
This was recorded in 2019 and for some reason was waiting this long to get to the finish line! Hope you enjoy it.

Kunnakkudi Balamuralikrishna first time seeing him play mridungam. He's a senior vocal artist. Amazing. He's multi talented. The person is also terrific 👍💯 feel as if nandhi is playing in Kailasha and Siva dancing 🙏

My god, Vid Kunnakkudu Balamurali is also great on Mrudangam as on Vocal, what a talented person is he.
I 'll be cheeky ...! with his signature attire (unbuttoned shirt and nearly bare chested), and macho mustache, I always sussed him out him to be a percussionist as well.
but until now he always presented as a vocalist ..! Now i am in terms with the attire ...!! 😃
btw ... KBMK, which other skills hiding as yet ...? Fencing, Horse riding and kick boxing may be ..? 😉

Kanjiraman Sundarkumar is very good at fiery style. But the surprising part is that, the famous carnatic vocalist Kunnakudi Balamuralikrishna is equally great in mridangam!!!
Sir, Vidhwan Sri.BalaMurali initially started to learn Mirudhangam and then vocal but because of his hardworking, high level of knowledge in both he is shining like a STAR. I thank God for accompanying him for some music programs, great experience. My humble Pranams to the great artist. I pray God for success in all his endeavors. My best wishes and Pranams to the great Vidhwan Sri.Sundarkumar also. RamRam 🙏
