ngl I Sallet used to be my favourite until I studies the Armet/Closed helm (basically the same) and I came to the conclusion that they have the same benefits as a sallets, the only difference is that for maximum protection with a sallet, you would need a seperate pieces for maximum head and neck protection (that piece being a bevor and gorget) but the closed helm has it already built in. Both are extremely effective and amazing helmets, but the closed helmet has (in my opinion) better qualities of a helmet than a sallet, making it (in my eyes) a superior helmet.

I really liked 4 and 6. Of course the Beakie and Bucket are classics too. My personal favourite helmets (not Knights) are the Chain-Veiled Viking helmet, the Corinthian, and the Roman Legionary Helmet with Death Mask.
Half of them have names you know. Corinthian helm is proper. And the grimhelm wasn't just seen as a viking helm, a lot more countries than just vikings used them, Ancient Bulgaria, Byzantine, Medieval Russia, and the RUS. And the Roman helmet your probably describing wasn't completely Roman at all, as Roman empire didn't just wear the steel plates only like you see in movies, moreover what you think of is the Gallic Empire helmet. And death masks never existed it's something you see in assassins creed games. Hollywood takes a huge toll on you

I'd be way more scared of Henry III's helmet than any of the others on this list. That hedgehog/lion thing, Henry's helmet, Savoyard Helmets or any other of those uncanny helmets make you look like a damn dark souls boss. The Middle Style of Great Helm looks so much better than the later Sugarloaf .And the Houndskull is the peak of late XIVth and early XVth aesthetics . Phillip the Second and his Father Charles the Ist had so much drip .
Me, personally i would prefer 0:10 this helmet because the amount of openings make it easy to breathe and it don't get so hot. The openings are small enough to block an opponent's short sword. i would prefer this helmet as well. (0:00) because you can see opponent's swings and you can block it in time. The bad thing is if you have a bad reaction time, you can get decapitated in one axe swing. 0:08 this helmet can open its face. That's a good thing because you would want to be able to breathe in battle. it may be difficult to see through but it can still protect very well. 0:14 Most people would use this helmet because of its beauty. i would too to be honest. but if you get hit in the face by a sword, it could spin the helmet around if it's big enough. 0:230:39 if you chose this helmet o go to battle, you would pretty much die instantly. You cannot see through the eye holes almost at all. You wouldn't be able to breathe either. 0:30 the holes in the mouth area is WAY to little. On a sunny day it will get extremely hot and the eye holes are too thin. If the opponent was to stab below your vision, you couldnt block it due to limited vision. 0:36 This helmet is not all that bad. It has a face opening which may be dangerous to arrows and jabs from a sword.
