Thankyou for the tutorial! I can't wait to make it! To make it easier for you to explain next time, the curly edges are commonly called a lettuce hem because it looks like the curly leaves of lettuce.
There are all different types of khimars. This one that I sewed was an overhead Khimar so it only had an opening for the head and face which is why I called it the face hole or opening in the video. You can use whatever fabric you like to sew with. When I usually make my overhead khimars I use ITY fabric
I wouldn't recommend cotton with overhead khimars or khimars in general with cotton. It doesn't have any flow or stretch, try to find a differnet fabric if you can
@@christinelove7216 yes like a jersey knit such as a ITY if you can find it. I haven't used any other jersey knits besides that one, which is why I'm recommending it
Thank you I was so happy to find this video in English as most are in different languages. However I found the tutorial a bit confusing as it's been filmed at too close up angle hence it is difficult to see where exactly in the garment you are sewing!
Honestly it's easier to make them on a serger machine but since I didn't have one, I just folded a little bit of the fabric but just enough so it could make ruffles. It's a new thing I learnt from sewing. So just take a little bit of fabric n practice because it does take time to do ❤
@@ladyclipper09 no I actually don't at the moment. But singer on their channel should have ways to use their machines. I believe you'll just have to type in the model you have and some tutorials should pop up for you in sha Allah
I forgot to say how much fabric u would need. You would need 1 or 2 yards of fabric depending on how long you want your overhead khimar to be :)
Beautiful ma'sha'allah

Shukran this video is just what I was looking for! If you wanted to do a full length overhead, would you just add more fabric and make it longer?
Yes and it also depends on how you cut it :). And Afwan love

So this is only one fabric with a hole cute for the head?? Sometimes I see kihmar with 2 sections that's why I am asking...

Ok most fabric I have is cotton and doesn't stretch so do I need to add elastic so my face fits comfortably?

Ok so a jersey material would work??

how do you make bottom ruffles ?

What brand sewing machine are you using?
I'm using a singer 3337 simple sewing machine
