You should test the Feit floodlight camera, I bought it from Costco a few months ago and it's kind of garbage, I just want confirmation before I return it. LOL. Should have got a Wyze one.
Looks like you were using the same cameras that came with the Reolink 4k NVR I got from New Egg on a black Friday deal about 2020. Been very happy with them and so far only using 3 cameras but that covers my driveway, front yard, and back yard. My lot is small and don't really feel like crawling around under the house running cables again. Gotta figure out where I stashed the last camera but probably in the box out in the shed. Having color at night would be good considering most of the bad stuff happens very late or early.
Not sure what's up with this camera as it's not being sold anywhere since I saw this review months ago. I've since bought another camera and will buy one more. Even on Reolink's website it never had stock although I see they have a few of them now. But I still think the Dahua T5442T-ZE will be much better at night...hence also why it's more expensive.

Hi! Congrat for your nice videos! :) I have seen many of your reviews of Reolink cameras. What dou you think which models have the best, precision AI detection at night in farthest distance ? Thank you for your answer.
Again a great review. It has been hard to find a good 2 K camera and I think this is the one based on what I have seen, however..... It looks like there is a supply issue (especially here in Australia) and they have no time frame when they will be available. Oh well had been looking at the RLC-81MA as an alternative, particularly for one location around the house, yay! Oh hang one, once again no supply. Looking once again at other brands 😞
I replaced a 5M camera with the CX410. The night vision is much improved. I set up a couple of inexpensive solar warm white lights that come on at night (Amazon). No more bug problems either as the IR attracted bugs like crazy in summer. I think for the close views, the CX410 is a great choice. I have the NVR with10 cameras and will be replacing up to 7 of them with the CX410 soon.
@SF-fm7ov I've got some CX410 cameras since a previous Amazon prime day that I didn't fit yet. I did test one when it first arrived and was impressed with it's low light sensitivity when pointing it out of the window at dusk. You wrote this post 10 months ago, are you satisfied with your CX410 cameras?
@ I really like the CX 410, but after I bought them, they came out with the CX 810 which is higher quality (4k-8mp) so I bought a couple of those and like them even better. They’re both great.
@ I don’t believe the CX 810 was available at the time of this video. The CX 410 had just come out. He mentioned that he can’t wait for a 4K camera to come out. That camera is the cx810. Which I now have.
@@SF-fm7ov Ah yes apologies, I'm mistakenly commenting on his later video which was a comparison 410 vs 810 where it seemed to indicate the 410 gave better results especially in low light.
Seeing as you have Reolink's ear, please push them to offer a 90 and 270 rotation option in their camera firmware. Seems like every other manufacturer has this but Reolink, despite a lot of user requests hasn't added it to any models. Portrait mode is super useful for lane and walkways.
Do you isolate your cameras from your network and/or block them from the internet? See it recommended a lot but wondering how many people actually do it…
Got 7 and going back for 4 more cx410. Not so water friendly. How does my wired NVR connect to wireless 510wa? And is the nvr friendly with Hanwha QNV-7082R Wisenet Q Network Indoor 4MP Dome Camera? Thanks Eye spy..
Who makes a camera and what cameras would it be, that you can make a positive identification of a person's face at night with a little bit of light at 25 to 30 ft away?
Recently I've "upgraded" an older 2k Reolink camera with a newer 4k version and instantly regretted it. The field of view is significantly smaller and the frame rate (fps) is *horrendous* on the new 4k version! Anything that moves fast on the street in front of my house (runners, cyclists or cars) are just a ghostly blur to this camera, especially at night. What good is "4k resolution" if you can't see a damn thing...? 😑
@@LifeHackster Thank you for the info. I've got a bright city street lamp right in front of the house, which gives good illumination. Still, anything moving faster than slow walking speed at night looks like a ghostly apparition, fading in and out of existence. I feel like this defect has something to do with the lower max FPS of the 4k models vs. the 2k models. It's pretty useless as a 'security camera' if you want to capture details on a moving car or a runner. Forget about reading license plates, you'll be lucky to guess the car's make and model at night, lol! I'm actually contemplating switching back to the much better and older 2k version. $100 down the toilet on that 4k cam "upgrade", as far as I'm concerned.
Just bought Reolink 8Ch system POE. Considering the CX410 vs 1212A for driveway and front porch overhead in addition to doorbell. Expect to have motionlights both areas. Your thoughts which to go with?
With Riolink can you access recordings from the app you are away from home? Not live stream, but recordings. If so, does this require a cloud subscription or a NVR?
how do you get the waterproof capsule over a terminated ethernet line? mine wouldn't fit because the rj45 end is too big. also your capsule is black and mine is white, different design perhaps?
I terminate my own ethernet line using pass through connectors which will go through the waterproof lid. You can also shave down the pre-made cable too if you want so that it can fit.
Hi LifeHackster, hope you’re doing well! This is an off topic question but where did you get your flag and flag holder from? I’ve been trying to find one for the house that doesn’t wrap itself around! Thanks in advance!

can you post video comparison of text ie license plate readability of the 4K and 2K Security Camera ? can do black and white video comparison of the 4K and 2K Security Camera at night etc? does reolink 4K camera also any cameras with color night mode like the CX410? Also how big is the file size of the 4K vs 2K videos?
I use all Amcrest which is basically the same thing. I went from 4k15NV to their 4k30FC and it's drastically different. Just like you said about spider webs and bugs, you also don't get "ghosting" of objects off in the distance. I had also got a 5MP30FC for comparison. The difference in cost between the two FC cams was $150. I can say definitively the benefit of the 4K30FC does not justify the cost. Matter of fact the 5MP has a much higher bitrate (at night) than the 4K so the images are much clearer for the 5MP. The 4K does naturally pick up more light than the 5MP but not $150 worth more light. I 100% agree with your assessment. Go for the 5MP Full Color (FC) than the 4K. But I'm also I firm believer in also getting higher framerates as you can catch those fast moving objects. I have: 1 5MP30FC 1 4K30FC 5 4K15NV 2 2MP30NV 1 108030NV Yeah I have enough....I think lol BTW, 5MP (2688x1520) is very slightly higher resolution than 2K
Im using Arlo Ultra 2 not a great choice I like this Reolink CX 410 do it this a NVR camera or wireless and what else would you recommend i need 3 outside front door and one in side came and also have you ever reviewed the Speco Zip camers thank you .
yup you’re right why can’t they put more powerful upgrades in their latest 4K cameras so that the resolution & frame rates are both good in the day & also in the night since security surveillance is supposed to be a 24/7 x 365 days a year round the clock matter hahaha That’s what keep me in a difficult spot to buy or not to buy or to wait for more perfect 4K with more better night image cameras to surface lol
I’ve been using Reolink and what I like is that you can mix and match their cameras (wired or plug in) to their NVRs…well except for the battery powered cams which cannot link to their NVR.
Interesting, the CX410 uses the same Omnivision OS04A10 found in the Dahua 54xx series at almost twice the cost, next step up would be 4k camera with 1/1.2" sensor $$
My biggest issue with CX410 is the animal detection at night which is not reliable unless you turn on the spotlight constantly with timer setting which defeats the purpose of having this camera. I need to protect my fish pond from raccoons at night. Human detection is spot on though.
@@LifeHackster My CX410 is placed on the side of the house like you have done. So the animals will move thru the walk path - moving towards or away from the camera depending on the direction. I suspect the camera will probably detect better if the traffic is going across the camera. My fish pond is protected by my TrackMix camera which can detect cats and raccoons a lot better than CX410 currently. I've been wanting to replace my TrackMix with 2 CX410s but putting them on hold for now.
I want to get a PoE system. Somehow my old house does not have a wired doorbell (nor any telephone jacks for those who still use landlines). I want some cameras too. I think PoE would be better and easier since the wifi strength in the back part of my home isn't very strong. Reolink has a lot of great reviews. Are there any professional monitoring companies that can integrate them into their system?
This is probably the hottest topic for people with Reolink systems. Night time performance is definitely worth the upgrade but what you didn't show was if the downgrade during the day from 8mp to 4mp was small enough for it to be still worth the swap out (zoomed in comparison). That is where I still don't know. Do I do the swap or wait for the CX810?
You really have to decide which camera is good enough in the area you are monitoring. Like in my sideyard, 2K or even 1080p is more than enough because I don’t have to see that far.
HI, nice review, may you suggest which nvr system is compatible with this CX410? ive been trying to get a cctv system but too many options out there, Thanks
Thank You . Would like to try this camera (swap an existing out) as I have an area (walkway) that this would help. Wondering if it would work acceptably with my non Reolink NVR?
Looks like a great camera option. I just finished replacing my Eufy cams with a Unifi NVR and a mix of some POE and G4 Instant wireless cameras. Everything works great but the AI detection could be better but overall, it's very stable, connections are fast, notifications are great, easy remote access to the controller and zero footage leaving my house. I just wish their 4K pro POE cameras weren't so expensive. They're really high quality though.
@@LifeHackster I work for an AV company and we install security systems as part of our services. One of the brands we use is IC Realtime and we have a few businesses who have bought their 8mp starlight IPEL-P8040X-IRW2-AI cameras to monitor parking lots for vehicle fleets and things like that. Each of those cameras are between $7500~8200 depending on supply. Most of the customers use the $300~500 turret/bullet 4mp cams though but the clients who need to keep an eye on expensive things will usually spare no expense with this stuff. It's been fun seeing how far the consumer security camera market has come. The commercial sector has remained relatively stagnant other than using AI detection. It's to the point where some smaller companies are opting for prosumer setups rather than a traditional NVR/cam setup.

(hint hint do a review ) but man ! i bought the Reolink track mix from your reviews and its my fav camera from reolink and reolink is just killing it ! I think if reolink was sold in BestBuy with professional install there would be a flood of new custmers buying this system. I would love to upgrade to this as my next update on my security system ! Reolink for the win !
You should test the Feit floodlight camera, I bought it from Costco a few months ago and it's kind of garbage, I just want confirmation before I return it. LOL. Should have got a Wyze one.
I don't have any experience and haven't checked out that brand.
Thanks for watching!
Hey I like the CX410. I also want a camera that has a zoom feature.
I was watching a very informational ad in between and I wanted to keep watching. It was going over the technology behind the color technology for reolink anyone know what video it was I hit skip but I guess it was not an ad coming up
Is color night vision possible is the video took me 6 hours but I found it
Hi! Congrat for your nice videos! :) I have seen many of your reviews of Reolink cameras. What dou you think which models have the best, precision AI detection at night in farthest distance ? Thank you for your answer.
Pretty informative. Think id would always choose camera usability Night ext, versus an absolute perfect picture only in the day time.
A lot of stuff happens mostly at night or early morning.
Discovered your other youtube channel. Nice . Did not realize there were two.
Cool side camera. I downgraded from tracmix poe to a 523wa due to network speed lol. 4k to 2k, no regrets, good camera.
@KingOfAmazon-mc1gc...Thanks for watching!
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, they can re-stock there soon.
looking to upgrade my Reolinks, in your opinion which tracking camera do you the most out of all of them. Thank you for your videos.. They are POE
@@SF-fm7ov This review implied that the CX810 doesn't have the clarity of the CX410, possibly the 810 only out performs the 410 at longer distances?
@ I don’t believe the CX 810 was available at the time of this video. The CX 410 had just come out. He mentioned that he can’t wait for a 4K camera to come out. That camera is the cx810. Which I now have.
@@SF-fm7ov Ah yes apologies, I'm mistakenly commenting on his later video which was a comparison 410 vs 810 where it seemed to indicate the 410 gave better results especially in low light.
LOve Love love them. I got 5 of them and i will be buying more. Thanks for the great videos! Keep it up
This guy is the best.. we need more neighbors like him!!@ lol
@mackjsm7105...Thanks for watching!
Seeing as you have Reolink's ear, please push them to offer a 90 and 270 rotation option in their camera firmware. Seems like every other manufacturer has this but Reolink, despite a lot of user requests hasn't added it to any models. Portrait mode is super useful for lane and walkways.
Can you do a comparision between CX410 and RLC-1212A / C325WB for color night vision?
th-cam.com/video/vPbQHa65iNc/w-d-xo.html
How you show them on tv?
How can I get this with Reolink 4g cellular options. No wires or WiFi. Love your channel
Thanks
Eye spy..
Should I get the 410 or wait for a new one? With color night vision
Supposedly, they are coming out with 4K but Im not sure when. This CX410 is more than enough for my needs though.
2K color night vision is better! Great upgrade👍
@user-rd9kb6ox1v...Thanks for watching!
Now debating on if I should wait for the 4K version or just purchase the 2k for now. Any word on when they may release a 4K version?
No word yet..
This is the issue with non-low light cameras like most of Reolink’s cameras…you need a good source of light to have better footage at night.
Are the warm white lights on all the time, or only when motion is detected?
You can set it on a schedule, dusk to dawn on when it detects motion.
Just bought Reolink 8Ch system POE. Considering the CX410 vs 1212A for driveway and front porch overhead in addition to doorbell. Expect to have motionlights both areas. Your thoughts which to go with?
Does this cameras record 24/7 without internet?
Yes.
Wow, that is a huge difference.
@reggie2803...Thanks for watching!
With Riolink can you access recordings from the app you are away from home? Not live stream, but recordings. If so, does this require a cloud subscription or a NVR?
Yes. No cloud subscription or NVR needed. You access the recordings from the micro SD card that you insert on the camera.
@@LifeHackster Thank you! 😊
Can you give me a recommendation for some solar lights?
how do you get the waterproof capsule over a terminated ethernet line? mine wouldn't fit because the rj45 end is too big. also your capsule is black and mine is white, different design perhaps?
I terminate my own ethernet line using pass through connectors which will go through the waterproof lid. You can also shave down the pre-made cable too if you want so that it can fit.
Ah man, I just bought x2 822A. Is this CX410 better?
I bought the CX410. Problem is that anything at distance is way too pixelated.
Hi LifeHackster, hope you’re doing well! This is an off topic question but where did you get your flag and flag holder from? I’ve been trying to find one for the house that doesn’t wrap itself around! Thanks in advance!
I just have a regular flagpole kit from Amazon but I did upgrade the rings.. -> www.amazon.com/live/video/0613fc6c3cb544818379f9f3232bb64f?ref=cm_sw_al_D1nuTe5ruo3b4
@@LifeHackster Thank you!
can you post video comparison of text ie license plate readability of the 4K and 2K Security Camera ?
can do black and white video comparison of the 4K and 2K Security Camera at night etc?
does reolink 4K camera also any cameras with color night mode like the CX410?
I have:
1 5MP30FC
1 4K30FC
5 4K15NV
2 2MP30NV
1 108030NV
Yeah I have enough....I think lol
BTW, 5MP (2688x1520) is very slightly higher resolution than 2K
Hello, what do you recommend for a shared garage?
Any chance you do a review the Reolink 833a ?
Thank you.
Im using Arlo Ultra 2 not a great choice I like this Reolink CX 410 do it this a NVR camera or wireless and what else would you recommend i need 3 outside front door and one in side came and also have you ever reviewed the Speco Zip camers thank you .
yup you’re right why can’t they put more powerful upgrades in their latest 4K cameras so that the resolution & frame rates are both good in the day & also in the night since security surveillance is supposed to be a 24/7 x 365 days a year round the clock matter hahaha
That’s what keep me in a difficult spot to buy or not to buy or to wait for more perfect 4K with more better night image cameras to surface lol
@combat_fighter1...Thanks for watching!
I want to purchase an NVR type set up but new at this could you recommend a set up and like these CX410
I’ve been using Reolink and what I like is that you can mix and match their cameras (wired or plug in) to their NVRs…well except for the battery powered cams which cannot link to their NVR.
What’s the best NVR out there
Interesting, the CX410 uses the same Omnivision OS04A10 found in the Dahua 54xx series at almost twice the cost, next step up would be 4k camera with 1/1.2" sensor $$
I have 4K Lorex and like your system I have color when using security, aka flood lights.
My biggest issue with CX410 is the animal detection at night which is not reliable unless you turn on the spotlight constantly with timer setting which defeats the purpose of having this camera. I need to protect my fish pond from raccoons at night. Human detection is spot on though.
It might be the distance of the cameras from your fish pond. Reolink still has to dial in animal and also their vehicle detection.
@@LifeHackster
My CX410 is placed on the side of the house like you have done.
What is a good camera i can have in my home pointing out the window towards the parking lot? I need it to have good quality especially at night
Are there any professional monitoring companies that can integrate them into their system?
which is the best solar powered camera? 2k 4k?
Well yes some 4k cameras looks like 720p TV, great video and good info.
Thanks for watching.
Lifehackster, you might take a weekend off smart homing and paint your trim. 😊 Could save a lot of work later. Thanks for your good reviews.
True. I need to repaint my fascia boards. Thanks for watching!
Are you able to view the cameras away from home?
Yes.
Wait I’m confused. They got cx410 the one you did. But also rlc 510a??
This is probably the hottest topic for people with Reolink systems. Night time performance is definitely worth the upgrade but what you didn't show was if the downgrade during the day from 8mp to 4mp was small enough for it to be still worth the swap out (zoomed in comparison). That is where I still don't know. Do I do the swap or wait for the CX810?
You really have to decide which camera is good enough in the area you are monitoring. Like in my sideyard, 2K or even 1080p is more than enough because I don’t have to see that far.
@@LifeHackster How about out the front? You've done the reduction from 4K and is facing the street, how is that working for you during the day?
@@gwaeron8630 It is fine 30-50 feet out -> th-cam.com/video/quE96Dsxaj0/w-d-xo.html

@@LifeHackster4 81MA's or 4 CX410? Which look better at night and which do you recommend?
HI, nice review, may you suggest which nvr system is compatible with this CX410? ive been trying to get a cctv system but too many options out there, Thanks
Sir, would this camera work if it connected via direct router? Via PoE injector?
I can only see my cx 410 when I'm connected to the same wifi. As soon as I leave i only get notifications but no live view. How do I do that?
Yes, Unifi cameras are expensive.
Would raising the bitrate help the 4k?
Yes Sir,
I like the camera - where can I purchase?
What’s a good doorbell camera that work with 5g Wi-Fi internet ?
Can the users set the led lights to be always on (in 50% mode) during specific hours in the evening (like 811A) ?
Yes, you can schedule the lights.
How many camera can it record at the same time? I read one source saying 16 is the maximum cameras the DVR can record at the same time. Can I have more than 16 cameras by adding another DVR? Do you think this is possible?
the lights on your fence?? where can i get them?
Can you make comparsion in video quality Reolink E1 Zoom v2 vs Reolink E1 Outdoor Pro 4K.
Would buy and replace if Reolink also offering 4K ColorX camera versions….
Hopefully, they will make some soon.
