Good to hear your thoughts on this one (and the previous release) even if it wasn't to your tastes. It sounds like Glen Scotia have made some improvements to their tour/distillery experience as well. We went in 2015 and it was... not the best. We asked to taste the wash but were told by the Stillman that you couldn't do that because it's not safe to drink and would "put us in the hospital". We were also told that the tour would include the warehouses but then they couldn't find the keys 😂 I could go on but don't want to bash a distillery that does make good whisky and it sounds like things have improved. One thing I am curious about: our tour guide said that they were planning to install a set of outdoor washbacks. Did they do it? Cheers 🥃
Talk of "Campbeltown Funk" held me away from their whiskies for a long time... MY BAD..!!! Various expressions from Kilkerran, Glen Scotia and Springbank are now permanent residents in my collection and the area has become my preferred whisky producing region in Scotland.
The 2022 bottle was my favourite whisky in that year had it at Budapest whisky show great review
