Nice walkthrough. I been using Resilio Sync across my Mac, Windows and Linux. I can also access the files on my phone but it will only download what files you want.

1st: what's the dashboard you're using in 4:04 called and will you make a video on it? It looks pretty dope.
2nd: The way I personally am synching my files rn is just with a cloud service like nextcloud. That way you can also set the files/folders that you want to be synced through the ui. So I dont quite see the point to set syncthing up. If you could explain why you would use it, i would be very thankful.

sure i can make a video on homepage, it's acutally pretty cool with modules and all, 2nd i should have spoke more about this but , it mainly has to do with server maintenance. nextcloud take alot of know how to maintain and if your 1 version behind. the plugins break. and someone with my condition, i need something that will still continue to work long after i'm not around

I don't know Call me crazy but I prefer just having a tail scale network and then using r sync.
I don't think I'm smart enough to properly use this one.
Every time I try to set it up It just never seems to work right or it's more hassle than it's worth.

if your able to do tailscale alone with rsync, then this should be pretty simple for you😁

I’d enjoy seeing you review Remote Desktop options: remote utilities, chrome Remote Desktop, RustDesk, and is it more secure than a PiKVM.

I love syncthing. Too bad Apple doesn't allow on iPhone. My use case is to sync everything on my phone and lapttop to two servers which are raspberry pi5's with 2TB disks. Sychthing also has versioning which is great if I delete or change a file.

Is there a way to incrementally encrypt + compress and then backup to an offsite storage over a VPN effectively? So for example the 2nd site would see a single pass protected zip only.

Syncthing will stop updates to Android starting next year. Do make a video how to setup a fork :)

Careful with Syncthing on Android. I haven't been able to get it to work anymore on Android 14 versus 10 which still works.

Maybe it's just me then -- can never get Syncthing to run on 14, on a 1+12. My 1+6T with 10 works just fine.
