I bought this unit recently, so far I've had good results.

Just got one and put in my pickup yesterday I’ve heard people but did not try to contact then going to try today when I go to I-90 though but is a weekend so never know

Nice overview. I'm still trying to decide what radio to get. It's down to this one and Presidents Bill 2 at almost double the cost. Regardless, something better or cooler will come out shortly after I buy one.😎👍 Thanks for doing this overview.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. It is true that the moment you buy a new radio 10 new ones will come out with every conceivable option! I have not used the President Bill as of yet, but I do like the size of the CB-27 Pro.
I'm awaiting the arrival of a President Bill II FCC (has both AM & FM) which I will be putting in my Jeep (Gladiator). Am keeping tabs on President to see when they will put FM on their McKinley (USA model, as they already have FM on it for their export model McKinley) so I can have all three bands (AM, SSB & FM). When (if?) President does that, will get a McKinley to use it as a base-station.

I bought this so I can mount it on a piece of plywood, thus move it from my house to car. I do not use CB radios but in the event of a hurricane cellular and internet can go down when you need it the most. Further, on the road, your cell phone may go down so this is a nice backup system as Channel 9 is the emergency channel. I also like it that it is powered with a cigarette lighter which is already attached. I listen to it sometimes and it is amusing to hear truckers on it.

How to rewire the cab mic to use a power mic???

So a regualar cb antenna will work on the FM side?

Any thoughts on a better-than- average roof magnet mount for pickup truck for this radio (SWR meter calibrated)? Thx
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. For many years I always used either the Wilson 1000 or Wilson 5000. However, I am currently using the Stryker SR-A10MM Magnetic Mount CB Antenna.

You do not need an external speaker because it is loud enough.

From a look at other small form factor AM FM CB's, it is lacking the audio transformer that superimposes audio onto the AM carrier. Also I have not seen any tuning slugs for the final output stage. There may be a hidden menu in there to raise the power. But you're not gonna get the nice swing of a real amplitude modulation transmitter. 73, N6ZUS

@@timholtzclaw8930 that was the olden days. There used to be React when I was a kid they would monitor channel 9 but they went away with pagers. no you're not getting 11 meter skip just that's the way it is now all channels are for all use, I'm glad to see and hear that CB is still alive
So this thing is Not a true amplitude modulation. I went to a UK site where the tester pulled off the cover and it was missing the audio transformer, used for receive audio and superposing audio onto the carrier. So there's no swing. I should have thought about that before it ordered one. I forgot about that part of AM transmitter 😒😒 Thx, N6ZUS
