Maarko* is an ordinary boy in the Philippines with extraordinary courage. Maarko is survivor of online sexual exploitation, a crime which sees children sexually abused in real-time by traffickers who then spread or sell images or videos of the exploitation online-even livestreaming the abuse for sex offenders to direct from anywhere in the world.
This horrific crime is growing around the world and police are warning that it is growing faster than our collective ability to stop it. Sex offenders - including in the UK - are paying traffickers in places like the Philippines to abuse child over the internet such as livestreaming.
