For those of you who are like me and dont want this song to end... I made this from the previously unreleased 11 minute version. the beginning is a little sloppy but midway you can tell its alot smoother

I mean, the 5 minute version just flies by. I kinda wish we got the 11 minute version instead because as much as I love the song, it honestly feels way too short. The intro is almost half the song by itself for crying out loud!

The original album version has Townshend's lead vocal heavily pushed to the right speaker in the stereo spectrum, but his voice cuts clear through the mix and the backing vocals sections have all the sonic durability of the backing vocal sections on Who's Next.
On some live versions the drumming is a bit too undisciplined, and that ruins the experience for me
Think the vocals are buried? Nothing wrong with that. Listen to "Watch That Man" by Bowie... even more buried. Still a perfect recording

You ruined it for me by showing the lyrics.. I always misheard the lyric of "it's and emminence front" as "it's a gerbil in his butt" or "it's gentleman's butt" as some reference to a gay hamster party on coke or gay sex. Are you sure the band isn't "Richard Gere with black guys"? LOL.. I stand corrected and like the layering of the song for a long time.
LOL! The imagery you wrote that with is incredibly hilarious. I find myself imagining that as roughly half of some kind of 1979-version writing of 'South Park'! "HEY MANG! @@joshgellis3292 As a music enthusiast, and yet being partially deaf from industrial noise, I do have an issue with language being drowned out with certain combinations of instruments. It clips the consonants and smears the vowels and the bowel related lyrics just flowed out. I finally had to really look up the lyrics on some songs like this one.
