Thank heaven's that your engineering linear mind figures out these things for those of us who only have the non-linear, artistic mind! You make things so easy for us and we trust you implicitly!! Thanks you Jennifer. I hope Santa is good to you since you are so good to us!!

When I snip those tiny metal pieces off of my dies, I do it over a piece of magnet sheet and even sometimes tape a small strip of magnet to my left pointer finger that I hold against the back of the die while cutting. The pieces go right to the magnet and then when I’m done, I use a piece of masking or painters tape to pick up all the tiny pieces off of the magnet, then fold the excess over, trapping the pieces inside, and then throw it in the trash.

This video totally rocks Jennifer and you've been such a fabulous source of advice and information over the years. I have purchased, or been gifted, many of the items you've recommended and I could not be more thankful. From the Fiskars Micro Tip Scissors (a lefty with carpal tunnel so these are perfect!) and the Fiskars Trimmer with the guideline; I could not be happier. (I totally agree with your opinion about the user making the difference with a cutter. What worked for my right-handed friend did not necessarily work for me as a lefty as far as cutting straight.) The T Ruler sent shivers down my spine when I was in HS (math was NOT my favorite!) but boy do I use this inexpensive tool every day in my craft room. Last year Santa brought me the Teflon Bone Folder and the Sizzix Big Shot Express and I am in LOVE with both of these products. Our son got married earlier this year and I made 150 embossed thank you cards and this Big Shot Express saved my hand and neck from further damage! This year the Hero Arts Wagner Heat Gun is #1 on my wish list. Thanks so much for all the hard work you put in to making this video; we all appreciate it so much. Have a beautiful Christmas season with your sweet family. ~HUGS~

The videos in this series are "My favorite videos" of 2017. Thank you Jennifer for all the work you put into these for us. Much appreciated! I'm always very excited to see any new products that you recommend in addition to the tried and true tools from the past. An early Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Thanks so much for putting this series together. I love finding new tools that make crafting easier! One tool that I started using this year is a sticky washable lint roller. I use it to remove the little scrap pieces that get stuck in intricate dies. Rather than poke out each of the pieces, I roll the lint brush over the die and Voila! the die is clean. When the roller has collected lots of pieces, just run it under the water to clean and it's good to go. Its definitely a time saver.

May I just say that I’m so delighted that card making and crafting is now your profession instead of engineering! I’d be lost without your video notifications! All your videos, ideas, talent and teaching feed my crafty soul. Thank you for your kindness and sharing your talent with us...have a blessed day and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!! ♥️

I am not new to card-making, but I still have a long way to go, and I've just seen this video. It's fabulous!! And would have been so very helpful when I first started. You are very knowledgeable on just about everything, and you explain and demonstrate things clearly. This is what newbies really need. We buy things and we don't exactly know how to use them, or all the different ways they can work for us. I just wish I knew where to get some of these things. I'm so pumped, I just want to go shopping right now!! Thank you ever so much for all the time you take to make these videos to fill us in on all the items, and their quality, and uses!!! :)

How you have the time to do this at this time of year is amazing. I hope your huge amount of personal family Christmas cards is finished and sent out and that we will get a video about them later. Finally! A stamping surface that doesn't move!! That was the problems with Rangers brown non stick sheet, it moved all over and you couldn't tape it down because of the no stick. I finally cut mine up for travelling and use scrap paper, at least I can tape it. BUT Now I will be buying that Easy Clean mat. As for MISTI, it is worth every cent I paid for the original. I bought mine when Ilianna was still making them at her kitchen table! I love it and just recently bought the mini for travelling. When people talk of the one thing they cannot live without in their craft room, the MISTI is mine! Thanks for the ideas. There goes my budget...again!

Just started this video and I already have to make a comment. My daughter is left handed, and trying to find good, detail scissors has been nearly impossible. We took a card class at a local shop and the owner let her use the Fiskars Micro Tip scissors and she fell in love. Since you're pressing them together, rather than squeezing for the scissor action, they truly can be used with either hand. I wanted to add that for any lefty's looking for something that actually works. And they're hiding right now, waiting to make an appearance in her Christmas stocking :).

I'm also a lefty (AND have Carpal Tunnel!) and this has always been an issue. LOVE and ADORE my Fiskars Micro Tip Scissors and wouldn't trade them for anything. So glad your daughter found something useful for her. #leftiesunite #leftiesareintheirrightmind

Hi Jennifer, guess what I did? I finally broke down and bought the Teflon bone folder and all I gots to say is, "WHY didn't I switch over before now?!" I will NEVER go back to my other bone folders after using this bad boy! You were so right! When you have the right tools, boy what a difference it makes! Thanks so much for doing your Favorite Crafty Series every year and I look so forward to your 2018 series! Hint Hint!! LOL!

After my 2nd heat tool died this year, I took your advice and bought the Wagner heat tool. I didn’t think it would be that much better, but hoped that it would at least last longer. Boy was I wrong. That thing is amazing. It gets much hotter, much faster. Because of that there is less warping on your paper. I absolutely agree with Jennifer that it is worth the extra money and is a great investment. Thank you Jennifer for the recommendation. This year I will be getting the Teflon bone folder based on your recommendation.

With the fiskars trimmer if you're not getting a straight cut look on wire arm for a little screw. The reason you're not getting a straight cute is because theres slack on the wire , tighten that screw and you should be fine

Fabulous coverage of your favorite things! I broke my Fiskar's wire one time in 5 years of uber use. The company sent me two that comes in the plastic ruler! Sometimes I realize I am "pulling" the cutting piece a bit to the left but I'm more aware of it now. I love Fiskar's!

I have taken your advice to heart on many of the items you suggest. I had doubts about some of them and will admit I was WRONG. I can personally verify the usefulness of the Pivot Vac. The only problem was keeping it in it's proper place. Everyone wanted to use it but I am now an empty nester, and so no more problems. I was very skeptical about a bone folder being so important. I must say I will always use a Teflon Bone Folder. I am so happy you tried the Gemini. I'm not admitting how many cutting machines I have, but when your hands get older and don't work so well, you will be so happy you have the Gemini. I doubt I get the smaller one since crafting is not my job. I have not gotten the simple things like the T-ruler and the sand eraser. I might add those at some point. I can say for sure that if Jennifer says it's good, you can write that down because it's good. Oh, I finally tried the Kirkland baby wipes and she was right again. Happy crafting to everyone! Big HUGS to Lila! I know she is being extra nice in anticipation for Santa's visit!

I love hearing about why and how you use the products! It’s like having a crafty friend recommend things to make my life easier. (Is it just me but there’s quite a bit of static) the Teflon bone folder is so nice to hold and makes making card bases something I look forward to lol it’s pricey but I love it. I am definitely Italy showing this to my DIL who is just starting to get into stamping and card making. I have been doing this myself since 1999 but there are so many new product's available now. (I had recently won a MISTI and as much as I wanted a Mini, I got the Original for her and she was thrilled.) However, it is a great investment for a stamper and they won't be disappointed. These are all the best suggestions for a beginner but I have had a Cuttlebug for 10 years and will soon be looking into a new die cutting MACHINE. Where I have arthritis, I am interested in the electric one. So this is a very good video for all crafters as (like you said, our needs are different)! Thank you Jennifer for taking the time to do this as it is a busy time of year for you as well. Merry Christmas to you!

I would also like to suggest the cutterpilar crop as a paper trimmer. I have the fiskar wire and still like it but I've replaced the wire arm at least 4 or 5 times. My other suggestion is if you are at a crop or a store ask to use others cutters. I have at least a dozen trimmers and I finally found my fave by trying other peoples trimmers.

i tried the cutterpillar crop for a long time but struggled with it - just was not comfortable to me. but i know many people like it.

Thank you so much for these informative videos. So opportune as I'm SERIOUSLY looking at the Gemini.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
PS For your UK followers - Swiffer dusting cloths are expensive in the UK but Waitrose own brand disposable dusters are just as good, unperfumed and very reasonable.

I always enjoy and learn from your videos. Thank you so much. I have been finding some items on amazon for significantly less $$$ and I’m kind of disappointed that there is so much markup. For example, SSS sells the triangular jewelry tray for $9.99 plus delivery and I just received 20 for $6.26 Canadian with free delivery.

amazon can get products at bulk discount. SSS can't. they simply get the price the manufacturer offers and adds the normal amount (like 40% of something) to cover expenses. This is tough for non-chain stores :( SSS wishes they could sell it for less!

An inexpensive way to store your shammy is with the infant snack boxes... the plastic containers with the X cut in the lid so that you can stick your hand in without taking off the lid. One buck at a dollar store.

Wow! thanks for covering so much material, its perfect for a beginner! I wish I could have watched this last month since I purchased the big shot during black friday sales. I would have gotten spellbinders machine since it folds up and take up less room for storage (which I don;t have space).. :;(
