weather in canada has finally tuned down, so now i can go out fly my quad. for now stuck in my exams so waiting for that to finish. love your videos. if i can't fly myself, i can atleast enjoy watching other people flying

I would love to build a tri-copter to do video but $$$. Plus when I look at a quad I see 2-3 planes in parts.

you can build a quad for about 150-200 dollars that can carry a gopro

for example you can use the turnigy 1200kv outrunners from hobbyking and some plush 30 amp esc's. if you are very tight on budget, you can use cheaper esc's like birdies or something. then you can use a kk board, cheap turnigy batteries, and a 20$ hobbyking transmitter/reciever combo.

Next build an Octocopter flying 'landing' platform and take off/land a blackout quad from it :)

Good video guys. Cleared up some fitment and form questions about the go pro plate on the hex. Even though these frames are rich, this vid actually has me considering the 330 and hex. Im just gonna pull the trigger.

It highlighted one issue with high powered small multicopters and thats short air time. But they look a lot of fun. I've so far resisted. Only ~10min flight time annoyed me on my larger FPV quads these don't seem to last longer than 5-6mins. The radio gear is also close together so no point having high powered video transmitters.
Davids Tri-copter outshone the others I thought, smoother and quieter. (until it did the midair!!!!) LOL. I know what to get if I want to be able to do cart wheels though.
Is the picture we are seeing the same as you guys are seeing through your goggles because it looks very clear.

+jetguy1205 my other thought was the FD got a call. Some local Fire Dept around here still call people to the station with sirens. I believe these guys are local to me here in Ohio.

Have you seen Xjet review. He says you need a really High C rated battery for the Blackout mini. The reason for the sudden drop in power could be this.

Ya, it's pretty obvious these guys are on an advertising campaign. I mean I get it but at the same time be weary of reviewers that get free stuff. Especially overpriced free stuff.

Bruce would be the first person to tell you if a product is bad, regardless of price.
The amount of entertainment I have received from Flite Test far out weighs what I have given them. Thank you guys !
BlackoutTheDrunk Like I said, "I get it". Custom stuff is expensive. At the same time, I could build the same frame for $50 or a cheap-ass low quality version for $5. But hey, lots of people have money to burn or don't have the time to spare for the works it takes. I get it.
BlackoutTheDrunk i KNOW Bruce does not sugar coat stuff haha! if a product is crap, he WILL tell you haha! i like how Bruce compared it to a Jet model... if i had the money, i'd definitely buy one! the way the board is all laid out and has built-in power distribution is just awesome! I trust Bruce's reviews, and would definitely take his word for it. and FliteTest proved that these things can take a beating, and, with how they are designed, break the weak points, instead of breaking the frame, or expensive stuff. very well thought out and well laid out product!

did you guys ever consider installing a parachute on quads for those situations when low voltage cutoff results in raining quadcopters. It wouldn't take up too much space and you could rig the shoot up with a tiny c02 cartridge. Like, 1/2 the size of a whip cream charger (if you can even get em that small) So, if you're at 3 or 4 hundred foot alt. and your bird starts dropping you would have that life saving feature. Kind of like one of those space capsules that astronauts use when returning to earth. You could either blow the cartage using a switch or even have it dialed into the accelerometer telemetry data and automatically open under certain defined conditions.
Great fun to watch the mayhem.

What flight boards are running on the mini quads?
I believe they said MultiWii. I would recommend Acro Naze32 based on what a lot of people have tried it seems to work the best on the mini h.

You know what would be intersting... ...multiple cameras (e.g front back, left right, top down) and when you move your head you shift from one view to the other, so its not so hard to find another plane flying - above, below, etc...
