Another good episode. Looks like a clean one!

Thanks Mark, glad you are here and enjoying the episodes! The next one I am working on is the 1948 Scott Atwater and it’s a doozy. The opposite of clean haha.

Interesting intro. I have a 1980 and it runs decent!

Are you an antique outboard club member?

The reason they encoded the date of manufacture is because they didn't change design very often, and they may not have done a production run every year. Nobody wants to pay for a brand new motor to find that it's really two or three years old.

interesting, I never thought of that, good piece of info there, thank you

IM not sure but i think the 9.9 is the same motor

Funny you should say that because I saw a 9.9hp in another video and it is nearly identical but it did have a different brand of carb

The 9.9 and 15 are only slightly different. The 15 has a slightly bigger bore and stroke but they share a lot of parts. They are hard to tell apart externally.

Lucky break on that one. Since Chrysler has been out of the outboard business for quite some time, parts for that otherwise sweet 15 can be somewhat difficult to find. They're out there, but...So, this one runs. That's excellent.

good to know, so glad someone took good care of it… I definitely got lucky, thank you for watching and for posting a comment

@@partscannongarage My pleasure. BTW, the correct fuel:oil ratio is 50:1 for that outboard.
