This is terribly depressing. Remembering the start of the forge and the building of Martin Tower
Now, it is all gone and with it 100,000 good paying, living wage jobs.
Time moves on and leaves us in the dust
    Just a forgotten memory
    I miss my youth
I remember before there was I-78, before most of the Lehigh valley existed
I remember when the Lehigh Valley Mall was conceived
When it was just open Fields and wooded land
I remember the trolleys and the daily passenger trains that connected Quakertown and coopersburg with Bethlehem and Allentown and Emmaus Andy's Greenville and pennsburg
It's all gone now as is my health and it makes me very sad
Live life when you're young and do what you want while you still can because it all goes by too quickly

It was sad to see the demolition of this symbol of a once powerful economy. My uncles worked in the steel mills of Cleveland when I lived there in the 1940's. After moving to Detroit in the 1950's I would drive by the five smoke stacks of the Ford Model T plant located in Highland Park, Michigan. Even then, as a kid, I was in awe of the manufacturing power of this country. Thank you for your work on this project.

The original Bethlehem Steel HQ building still exists (and overhead is shaped like the "I" beam logo of the company. It once had an art deco foyer, but it's currently being renovated into a part of the community college and health network.

The song's been my earworm all day! Thanks for the song; it made a lively addition to the video. - Vivian

Moved to the valley in 2003. Moved away in 2015, but always appreciated this building. Fortunately (unfortunately?) I happen to be visiting the valley and will be able to watch her collapse :/

I understand the sentiment but I'm glad it's gone. It was an eyesore and now that it's gone, it looks as though nothing is missing.

    Why was the building destroyed?
