I think there is a difference between being grateful for the roots that have helped you evolve into who you are now, and acting as though the toxic environment you were placed in for so long was okay. Abby played a role in her career development, so she deserves that credit. However, there are consequences for the toxic environment she created for those girls. Scripted or non-scripted the words and actions on that show towards young developing minds were obscene.
And her their mother didn’t mind as long as the dough was rolling in. If it was really that toxic, why would she keep her children there year after year?
Avonlea Lane they were under a contract they signed with lifetime for 6 years that’s why they left in the middle of season 6 bc their contract was over

The producers made abby yell at the kids to create drama and Abby was on the phone with some of them and crying to them telling them she didn't want to yell at the kids. Melissa even said that in an interview. Abby bought the girls gifts, ice cream, and let them go on a shopping spree. She loves them, it's there, and I can't believe you can not see it. But yet most of them are ungrateful wow.
Personally I think, Abby really loved Maddie like her own daughter, but put way too much pressure on Maddie. Words can be so damaging to children especially at such a young age. I just feel so sorry for all the kids who had to go through all the drama and stress. Xxx

I honestly think Sia was the one who actually launched her career. Yes, Abby started the show and yes: Maddie was discovered by Sia because of the show, but without Sia, Maddies Career probably would have developed pretty similiar to the careers of all the other girls. The Music Videos, The book of henry... The Roles she had before Sia came were nothing compared to the exposer Sia got her. The show isn't that big in Germany. Most people I know have never even seen it, but they still regognize Maddie, if you show them a picture. For them she is "that girl from the sia videos" and not "the girl from dance moms"
I get her point and how bad it was to be stressed out as a kid. But that's how show business works. The business she wanted to be in. It sounds ungrateful, Abby is the reason Maddie is famous and the reason she started working with Sia. By giving her so many solos, privates, duets, trios, having her be the lead in the group dances, worrying so much about her costume, having Gia help her out with her makeup, running her dancer over and over again, giving her the most mature/hard solos, having her not just dance but perform stories in her dances, etc. Abby was "selling" Maddie BIG TIME. Making her the center of attention, giving her the most camera time. Making her look her best and complimenting her all the time. Anybody who watched the show would notice Maddie right away. Let's say a casting director watched a random episode. In that episode let's say Abby didn't give Chloe a solo, but she (as always) gave Maddie a beautiful one. The director will notice Maddie right away. He would notice her in the group dance since she is the lead. Abby did everything she had to do to make Maddie be seen by the right people. Stress or not, Sia o no Sia, Abby started everything. Without Abby, Sia wouldn't have noticed her. And Maddie wouldn't be where she is today.
Maddie was in Abby's studio, Abby received the tv show offer and Abby picked the girls on her team. So yes, Abby is the real reason Maddie had the chance to become famous.
Cinthya Abby got Maddie noticed. Sia made her into someone that is a star in her own right. Not just for a few dance competition with a dance teacher on a TV show that is mostly watched by kids. Maddie did want to succeed but she did not enjoy the pressure, the constant expectation to win. Sia made Maddie who she is now, and freed her from Abby. Sia taught Maddie how to work, how to look after herself, that perfection doesn't matter. The work with Sia matters more. .
Maddie doesn't mention Abby at all in the book, which is sad. Abby deserves more credit especially since they chose to renew their contract with the ALDC annually and weren't every forced to stay.
Abby may help her with her dance career but the show help to get where she is today. Abby treated Maddie and mackenzie like crap when they were leaving.

even on the show, people believe that the relationship between maddie and abby was good because she was the "favorite" but even that dynamic is strange....like think of yourself as a young child being told your the best and need to always win, second place is first to lose, having your dance teacher turn you against or at least try to turn you against other kids.and then seeing your dance teacher abuse (emotionally and mentally) your other teammates comparing them to you. that is not normal. I don't blame maddie and kenzie for not keeping in contact. that relationship is toxic, for all those kids involved. nia, chloe, paige, brooke, they were all treated badly by abby.
And remember that one year she acted like she hated Maddie (I forget why). I almost stopped watching the show, because it was legit emotional abuse and Maddie just seemed so desperate for her love and it was so sad (especially knowing what a perfectionist she was and how stressed out she got about the thought of failure). Abby played with ALL of their emotions for years when they were CHILDREN. Toxic is the only word I can think of to describe it, and I'm glad someone else recognizes it as such a toxic relationship. I don't blame Maddie for walking away. I hope she's found more peace and happiness. I suspect she credits Sia because Sia actually gave her perspective and a healthier way to think about herself and her career.

Yeah but at such a young age, dancing for big names and being given amazing opportunities.. I would thank my dance teacher for pushing me and seeing something special inside me. I would feel extremely blessed to have been given so much at such an early age and noticed by people who can help build my career. It's rare you keep friends you make as kids for life anyway. And I would greatly appreciate that I worked hard so early in life and everything after was going to be a fun ride. They were treated the way any athlete is treated on a winning team by their hard ass coach who is only driving them to success.
No I don't agree because Abby was rude to those kids she had anger issues. She made them cry a couple times through out the show. So she has no right to play a victim in that place. Melissa, Maddie and Mackenzie were like Abby's family. Melissa knew Abby's mother and even hold her hand when she was dying. Abby took care of Maddie when her mom was on vacation with her new husband ! I think what hurts Abby the most is that she didn't even received a phone call or even a text from them when everything goes wrong for her. Even if Maddie didn't want to talk about Dance Moms or Abby for hours she should have been fair and recognize the role Abby had. She taught her to dance and that's why she got the job in Chandelier !
well she IS an abrasive and abusive person . you can say you're 'just being strong' and 'just coaching' all you want but there's a way to go about it. you don't have shouting matches with everyone, belittle them, and always try to get the last word. instead motivate ppl, be real with them, and be an inspiration to them. Abby used Maddy and all the girls talent to forward her business. In later episodes, after the 2 girls left, she was recorded several times telling mothers or some individual off camera, that the selfies she was getting with the mini-group was for back to school publicity to gain more students. That she needed the girls to win to bring more students to her school. I think more of the credit belongs to Gianna, Abby didn't work with the kids completely on her own..Gianna was there to fill in the blanks when abby was going off the deep end over something, especially towards the end Yes Maddy was a superb actress, but there was no reason that the other girls could not have gotten some coaching on facial expressions and a bit of acting. She was driven to do well because she was a people pleaser and Abby exploited that to get what she wanted. I think the reason abby is mad at maddy was because she knew there was no one else that could be manipulated as easily and who's mother was willing to let their child be put through the insanity and not say anything.

Abby reminds me so much of the kind of people that I've met who make me feel uncomfortable and little. She gives me the vibes of an unnecessarily mean person, and I know I would hate to meet her in person.
This is why being the favorite kid of abbys class is as negative as it is positive but the negativity outweighs the positives. You get the perks of being the favorite aka music videos, TV roles, clothing lines etc because Abby was so invested in making the child succeed. The negatives are perfectionism, PTSD, poor sportmanship, and mental issues caused by the desire to win everything because Abby brainwashed her into thinking that losing a few times is shameful and the end of the world. Maddie had to watch and make sure every step of her dance routine is perfection out of fear of getting abbys wrath. Abby was more of a negative role model because maddie was a witness of all the abusive situations Abby caused if u lost or weren't the favorite because she saw the treatment her teamates got when they lost or weren't perfect. This coupled with stress put fear in this kid. There is no reason why Abby should reap the benefits of maddies successful career because why give credit to the one person who caused you so much anguish and made u lose it and quit dance?
So what? Abby is grown and she acts like a teen. I do like Abby but how many kids did she brake to not to want to dance? I mean Abby is just about herself. Ultimately Maddie found the mentor she needed w Sia. To be honest it was the producers of that show who chose the original kids. Abby didnt choose the kids. Im glad Maddie is much happier in life. I saw the show from the beginning and really the kids were all stressed out and pinning friends against each other wasnt a great thing to teach Maddie. Yes Abby taught her but made her to be perfect and stressed out all the time. Abby just mad cuz she got the other end of the stick with a shabby contracting job and has to hate on others who do better than she does. I have seen all of her interviews.
Abby had many, many flaws but you can tell her intentions were to recreate at atmosphere like you would have in the professional working world, where everything is biased and you're only as good as your last performance. Macy is not a natural dancer, had she not been training with Abby all those years she wouldn't have the work ethic, professionalism, and skills to make it in the real world. Maddy doesn't owe her the world, but maybe giving her one little bit of credit for making the girl the dancer and performer she is would be nice.

Exactly. Also, almost all of the dance moms featured throughout the show hated Abby because of her undisputed favoritism towards Maddie. And now, Post-Dance Moms she doesn't mention Abby once in her interviews or credit her for being so supportive and opening doors for her that led to her international fame. That actually bugs me a lot because of this.

She also said that she is glad to move on but is thankfull for the opportunity and that dancemoms benefits her a lot. I don't think that she has to tell this all the time for the rest of her carrier. Abby said in an interview on usmagazine.com that none of the original dance moms cast has reached out to her. Not only Maddie.

lyla dar those girls do owe Abby and Dance Moms a lot. If it wasn't for Abby and the show Sia probably wouldn't even know Maddie existed same for the rest of us. Abby was really hard on the girls but when you are in competition dance it takes hard work and dedication. Same for any competitive sport. I felt bad for Abby she gave everything to the team, but she also gained a lot and created her own problems. I know a lot of the drama we watched on the show was created by producers for entertainment and we don't know what things were like off camera so I try to not judge either side too much. I hope the girls have a great life and I hope Abby can pick up the pieces and make a come back once out of jail.
well, we dont necassarily know what could have happened behind the scenes of the show. the zieglers' were involved in some of abbys legal issues-which probably explains why they cant talk about her. abby may have rewarded maddie with a huge QUANTITY of solo's, but, sia rewarded maddie with the QUALITY of life an eight-thirteen year old hard working girl should deserve. we only saw fourty five minutes of such a fake and edited reality show. abby was still a negative influence to them all.
It’s very telling that Abby was more worried about herself looking abusive then how her tactics made Maddie feel. Maddie is still an amazing dancer, and LOOK! No abuse necessary 🙂.
Maddie deserves to move on from the toxic environment Abby put her in and I understand why she would not want to reach out to Abby after she left the show. Abby brought her stress and anxiety as a kid and Maddie probably doesn’t want anything to do with that chapter in her life. She has moved on to bigger, better places and has recovered from Dance Moms. P.S I think it’s weird that Abby is clinging on to her old students. I thinks it’s time for her to move on with her life instead of wasting her on Maddie and the others.

Well I don’t really know if that’s what happens, in case it is the truth, I thing Abby have any right to be upset with maddie, she’s being ungrateful because sia only gave her opportunity while Abby built her since she was 3 years old.. without Abby she couldn’t met sia!! Maddie have to appreciate the foundation... Abby really loved and wished with hard work that maddie will success.. it’s just a shame that maddie didn’t let Abby be part of it..
Maddie is still a child. She is TOTALLY influenced by the adults around her. Nobody from Dance Moms wants to risk their tenuous claim to fame by attacking or joining forces with the wrong people. Sometimes it's best to say nothing than to pick the wrong side. With Dance moms, ANY SIDE could be the wrong side.
I have known a lot of Abby people in my life. And I don't care if they helped me, they also ruined me. I am a total perfectionist now because of them. I feel like a failure for getting B's in school for example and want to redo a class (college BTW). Only recently, after meeting a Sia person, did I realize that this is waaaaay unhealthy. Maddie is lucky to leave when she did at her age. Any later and she would be that crazy perfectionist who beats herself over any little mistake. There is no good way to live like that. Abby does not deserve to have full credit as she took away just as much as she gave to Maddie.

Maddy could have left and gone to a different dance studio at any time or when contracts were renewed every year but she didn't, because she was getting good training and TONS of exposure being on TV. I don't feel like you can really compare that to your situation unless you are also on TV and became famous from the Abby's in your life. As toxic as the environment was it prepared the kids for the real world in a way that people like you and I have/had to learn the hard way: People will be biased and life is unfair, you have to be better than everyone else AND have connections to be successful, and even then success isn't guaranteed and if you get it you can still easily be replaced. Nothing is given and you aren't owed anything, if you want something you have to do it yourself and take risks. No matter how special you think you are there are thousands of people like you who can do what you do better. I honestly wish someone had told me these things, or at least told me HOW insanely unfair life is, because school is like preparing for checkers and graduating college to find out the world is playing chess. Abby may be harsh but with rich moms that coddle the girls they needed someone to tell them about reality, and reality is harsher than Abby could ever be. Maddy would be another girl who did dance in school and became a trophy wife and full time mother if Abby hadn't given her the training, skills, and most importantly opportunities to take on the real working world.

You hit the nail on the head. Abusive people are like that, they cause you to doubt and overly criticise yourself. It's awful. Hope we can learn to be kinder to ourselves but it's very hard to overcome the internalised voice of the abuser.

I understand why Maddie would act this way, but I also understand Abby's behavior. Abby constantly did everything she could to turn her against her friends and all the other moms, especially Chloe and Christi. She also used Maddie to make Mackenzie feel bad about herself by comparing them all the time and I bet that made her very uncomfortable, so it makes sense why she doesn't like Dance Moms anymore. I have to admit, I don't blame Abby either though. Abby did go through a lot of things just to make her a big star, and Maddie is really ungrateful about it sometimes and barely gives her any credit. It is always the right choice to thank your teacher for what he/she had given you. It is reflecting poorly on the student to put down or ignore the teacher’s role in shaping her. She would not be where she is without the training and expectations she had placed on her at such a young age.

Tbh we really don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but from what we do know. I feel maddie should be a little more grateful. She was stressed out because to be the best you have to work hard. You have to be pushed. if she wasn't stressed out then she probably wouldn't have had these opportunities now. If she didn't want to be stressed she could have just been an average dancer and not as famous as she is now.
A - yeah it sounds harsh but Maddy had the option at any moment to leave and she didn't, now she is the most popular girl from the show so clearly the stress was worth it, she was given everything she was promised
To call Maddie ungrateful is to miss the point of being a coach in the first place. A good coach measures his or her success by the success of their dancers. Abby should be proud that Maddie has surpassed Abby in fame and gone on to bigger and better things, not bitter and jealous. When you become a coach, its no longer about you, its about your students, their happiness, and their success. If Abby can only focus on herself, she should have stayed a dancer and given coaching a miss. Part of the point of dance moms was to show how mature and focused the dancers were as compared to how immature and dramatic the adults were. Abby was no better than the moms, and her antics and attempts to pit her dancers against one another only distracted from Maddie's dance training. As for Maddie, if she has found away to be both a star and a normal kid at the same time, more power to her. This will allow her to have a longer career in show business and a healthier and happier life.

Despite whether Maddie or Kenzie were with Abby it was dance moms that made them big, if there was no dance moms sia would have much less likely noticed Maddie as she chose her coz she was a fan of the show. Even if she was with Abby without dance moms she would have got a lot less opportunities because undoubtedly that was her first taste of Hollywood where she was first noticed, Abby of course helped by advertising her more than the other girls but it was dance moms that made BOTH the girls. Mackenzie is producing amazing music that has topped charts, that wouldn't have been even nearly as easy if it wasn't for dance moms, without the show the girls would still be stars but not as famous or probably as successful. I think there is a difference between being grateful for the roots that have helped you evolve into who you are now, and acting as though the toxic environment you were placed in for so long was okay. Abby played a role in her career development, so she deserves that credit. However, there are consequences for the toxic environment she created for those girls. Scripted or non-scripted the words and actions on that show towards young developing minds were obscene.

The producers made abby yell at the kids to create drama and Abby was on the phone with some of them and crying to them telling them she didn't want to yell at the kids. Melissa even said that in an interview. Abby bought the girls gifts, ice cream, and let them go on a shopping spree. She loves them, it's there, and I can't believe you can not see it. But yet most of them are ungrateful wow.
Personally I think, Abby really loved Maddie like her own daughter, but put way too much pressure on Maddie. Words can be so damaging to children especially at such a young age. I just feel so sorry for all the kids who had to go through all the drama and stress. Xxx

Kids aren’t born thinking to themselves that they need to have a solo - they’re taught that. To Maddie, getting a solo wasn’t just an opportunity from Abby - it was her own self worth. And that mindset was groomed by Abby.
I honestly think Sia was the one who actually launched her career. Yes, Abby started the show and yes: Maddie was discovered by Sia because of the show, but without Sia, Maddies Career probably would have developed pretty similiar to the careers of all the other girls. The Music Videos, The book of henry... The Roles she had before Sia came were nothing compared to the exposer Sia got her. The show isn't that big in Germany. Most people I know have never even seen it, but they still regognize Maddie, if you show them a picture. For them she is "that girl from the sia videos" and not "the girl from dance moms"

I get her point and how bad it was to be stressed out as a kid. But that's how show business works. The business she wanted to be in. It sounds ungrateful, Abby is the reason Maddie is famous and the reason she started working with Sia. By giving her so many solos, privates, duets, trios, having her be the lead in the group dances, worrying so much about her costume, having Gia help her out with her makeup, running her dancer over and over again, giving her the most mature/hard solos, having her not just dance but perform stories in her dances, etc. Abby was "selling" Maddie BIG TIME. Making her the center of attention, giving her the most camera time. Making her look her best and complimenting her all the time. Anybody who watched the show would notice Maddie right away. Let's say a casting director watched a random episode. In that episode let's say Abby didn't give Chloe a solo, but she (as always) gave Maddie a beautiful one. The director will notice Maddie right away. He would notice her in the group dance since she is the lead. Abby did everything she had to do to make Maddie be seen by the right people. Stress or not, Sia o no Sia, Abby started everything. Without Abby, Sia wouldn't have noticed her. And Maddie wouldn't be where she is today.

Maddie did want to succeed but she did not enjoy the pressure, the constant expectation to win. Sia made Maddie who she is now, and freed her from Abby. Sia taught Maddie how to work, how to look after herself, that perfection doesn't matter. The work with Sia matters more. .
Maddie doesn't mention Abby at all in the book, which is sad. Abby deserves more credit especially since they chose to renew their contract with the ALDC annually and weren't every forced to stay.
Abby may help her with her dance career but the show help to get where she is today. Abby treated Maddie and mackenzie like crap when they were leaving.

even on the show, people believe that the relationship between maddie and abby was good because she was the "favorite" but even that dynamic is strange....like think of yourself as a young child being told your the best and need to always win, second place is first to lose, having your dance teacher turn you against or at least try to turn you against other kids.and then seeing your dance teacher abuse (emotionally and mentally) your other teammates comparing them to you. that is not normal. I don't blame maddie and kenzie for not keeping in contact. that relationship is toxic, for all those kids involved. nia, chloe, paige, brooke, they were all treated badly by abby.

And remember that one year she acted like she hated Maddie (I forget why). I almost stopped watching the show, because it was legit emotional abuse and Maddie just seemed so desperate for her love and it was so sad (especially knowing what a perfectionist she was and how stressed out she got about the thought of failure). Abby played with ALL of their emotions for years when they were CHILDREN. Toxic is the only word I can think of to describe it, and I'm glad someone else recognizes it as such a toxic relationship. I don't blame Maddie for walking away. I hope she's found more peace and happiness. I suspect she credits Sia because Sia actually gave her perspective and a healthier way to think about herself and her career.

Yeah but at such a young age, dancing for big names and being given amazing opportunities.. I would thank my dance teacher for pushing me and seeing something special inside me. I would feel extremely blessed to have been given so much at such an early age and noticed by people who can help build my career. It's rare you keep friends you make as kids for life anyway. And I would greatly appreciate that I worked hard so early in life and everything after was going to be a fun ride. They were treated the way any athlete is treated on a winning team by their hard ass coach who is only driving them to success.

Melissa, Maddie and Mackenzie were like Abby's family. Melissa knew Abby's mother and even hold her hand when she was dying. Abby used Maddy and all the girls talent to forward her business. In later episodes, after the 2 girls left, she was recorded several times telling mothers or some individual off camera, that the selfies she was getting with the mini-group was for back to school publicity to gain more students. That she needed the girls to win to bring more students to her school. I think more of the credit belongs to Gianna, Abby didn't work with the kids completely on her own..Gianna was there to fill in the blanks when abby was going off the deep end over something, especially towards the end
Yes Maddy was a superb actress, but there was no reason that the other girls could not have gotten some coaching on facial expressions and a bit of acting. She was driven to do well because she was a people pleaser and Abby exploited that to get what she wanted.
I think the reason abby is mad at maddy was because she knew there was no one else that could be manipulated as easily and who's mother was willing to let their child be put through the insanity and not say anything.

Abby reminds me so much of the kind of people that I've met who make me feel uncomfortable and little. She gives me the vibes of an unnecessarily mean person, and I know I would hate to meet her in person.
This is why being the favorite kid of abbys class is as negative as it is positive but the negativity outweighs the positives. You get the perks of being the favorite aka music videos, TV roles, clothing lines etc because Abby was so invested in making the child succeed. The negatives are perfectionism, PTSD, poor sportmanship, and mental issues caused by the desire to win everything because Abby brainwashed her into thinking that losing a few times is shameful and the end of the world. Maddie had to watch and make sure every step of her dance routine is perfection out of fear of getting abbys wrath. Abby was more of a negative role model because maddie was a witness of all the abusive situations Abby caused if u lost or weren't the favorite because she saw the treatment her teamates got when they lost or weren't perfect. This coupled with stress put fear in this kid. There is no reason why Abby should reap the benefits of maddies successful career because why give credit to the one person who caused you so much anguish and made u lose it and quit dance?

Macy is not a natural dancer, had she not been training with Abby all those years she wouldn't have the work ethic, professionalism, and skills to make it in the real world. lyla dar those girls do owe Abby and Dance Moms a lot. If it wasn't for Abby and the show Sia probably wouldn't even know Maddie existed same for the rest of us. Abby was really hard on the girls but when you are in competition dance it takes hard work and dedication. Same for any competitive sport. I felt bad for Abby she gave everything to the team, but she also gained a lot and created her own problems. I know a lot of the drama we watched on the show was created by producers for entertainment and we don't know what things were like off camera so I try to not judge either side too much. well, we dont necassarily know what could have happened behind the scenes of the show. the zieglers' were involved in some of abbys legal issues-which probably explains why they cant talk about her. abby may have rewarded maddie with a huge QUANTITY of solo's, but, sia rewarded maddie with the QUALITY of life an eight-thirteen year old hard working girl should deserve. we only saw fourty five minutes of such a fake and edited reality show. abby was still a negative influence to them all.

Maddie deserves to move on from the toxic environment Abby put her in and I understand why she would not want to reach out to Abby after she left the show. Abby brought her stress and anxiety as a kid and Maddie probably doesn’t want anything to do with that chapter in her life. She has moved on to bigger, better places and has recovered from Dance Moms.

Maddie is still a child. She is TOTALLY influenced by the adults around her. Nobody from Dance Moms wants to risk their tenuous claim to fame by attacking or joining forces with the wrong people. I have known a lot of Abby people in my life. And I don't care if they helped me, they also ruined me. I am a total perfectionist now because of them. I feel like a failure for getting B's in school for example and want to redo a class (college BTW). Only recently, after meeting a Sia person, did I realize that this is waaaaay unhealthy. Maddie is lucky to leave when she did at her age. Any later and she would be that crazy perfectionist who beats herself over any little mistake. There is no good way to live like that. Abby does not deserve to have full credit as she took away just as much as she gave to Maddie.

Maddy could have left and gone to a different dance studio at any time or when contracts were renewed every year but she didn't, because she was getting good training and TONS of exposure being on TV. I don't feel like you can really compare that to your situation unless you are also on TV and became famous from the Abby's in your life. As toxic as the environment was it prepared the kids for the real world in a way that people like you and I have/had to learn the hard way: People will be biased and life is unfair, you have to be better than everyone else AND have connections to be successful, and even then success isn't guaranteed and if you get it you can still easily be replaced. Nothing is given and you aren't owed anything, if you want something you have to do it yourself and take risks. No matter how special you think you are there are thousands of people like you who can do what you do better. I honestly wish someone had told me these things, or at least told me HOW insanely unfair life is, because school is like preparing for checkers and graduating college to find out the world is playing chess. Abby may be harsh but with rich moms that coddle the girls they needed someone to tell them about reality, and reality is harsher than Abby could ever be. Maddy would be another girl who did dance in school and became a trophy wife and full time mother if Abby hadn't given her the training, skills, and most importantly opportunities to take on the real working world.

Sounds like it. To make it in life and to learn a craft and to be the best at what you chose to do (and It WAS Maddie's choice or she wouldn't have stayed as long as she she did) you have to work your butt off. You don't get that good or excel at your craft by sitting on your butt which is apparently what poor me boo hoo Mary has been doing her whole life..

I understand why Maddie would act this way, but I also understand Abby's behavior. Abby constantly did everything she could to turn her against her friends and all the other moms, especially Chloe and Christi. She also used Maddie to make Mackenzie feel bad about herself by comparing them all the time and I bet that made her very uncomfortable, so it makes sense why she doesn't like Dance Moms anymore. I have to admit, I don't blame Abby either though. Abby did go through a lot of things just to make her a big star, and Maddie is really ungrateful about it sometimes and barely gives her any credit. She seems the forget that Abby did make her famous and doesn't appreciate that. The person I don't understand at all is Melissa. This just shows that Melissa and her friendship with Abby was just some big lie like all the moms said. She just did all the stuff so her daughters could be better than everybody else and didn't even care about her friendships with anybody. Never like Melissa tbh. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

It is always the right choice to thank your teacher for what he/she had given you. It is reflecting poorly on the student to put down or ignore the teacher’s role in shaping her. She would not be where she is without the training and expectations she had placed on her at such a young age.

And thanks to abby giving maddie solo's every week made sia recognize maddie in particular. Abby treated Maddie as her own child when Melisa wasn't there. Tbh we really don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but from what we do know. I feel maddie should be a little more grateful. She was stressed out because to be the best you have to work hard. You have to be pushed. if she wasn't stressed out then she probably wouldn't have had these opportunities now. If she didn't want to be stressed she could have just been an average dancer and not as famous as she is now.
A - yeah it sounds harsh but Maddy had the option at any moment to leave and she didn't, now she is the most popular girl from the show so clearly the stress was worth it, she was given everything she was promised

To call Maddie ungrateful is to miss the point of being a coach in the first place. A good coach measures his or her success by the success of their dancers. Abby should be proud that Maddie has surpassed Abby in fame and gone on to bigger and better things, not bitter and jealous. When you become a coach, its no longer about you, its about your students, their happiness, and their success. If Abby can only focus on herself, she should have stayed a dancer and given coaching a miss.
Part of the point of dance moms was to show how mature and focused the dancers were as compared to how immature and dramatic the adults were. Abby was no better than the moms, and her antics and attempts to pit her dancers against one another only distracted from Maddie's dance training.
As for Maddie, if she has found away to be both a star and a normal kid at the same time, more power to her. This will allow her to have a longer career in show business and a healthier and happier life.

Despite whether Maddie or Kenzie were with Abby it was dance moms that made them big, if there was no dance moms sia would have much less likely noticed Maddie as she chose her coz she was a fan of the show. Even if she was with Abby without dance moms she would have got a lot less opportunities because undoubtedly that was her first taste of Hollywood where she was first noticed, Abby of course helped by advertising her more than the other girls but it was dance moms that made BOTH the girls. Mackenzie is producing amazing music that has topped charts, that wouldn't have been even nearly as easy if it wasn't for dance moms, without the show the girls would still be stars but not as famous or probably as successful. No hate I love the girls but yeah x
