I respect the hell out of that send. I’ve literally watched you start riding a MTB and now you’re sensing a backflip. I’ve been riding my whole life and never tried one, to be fair never been around a bag jump but still it takes some serious cojones to send a flip no matter where. Much respect and love, heal up soon🤘
Same. At a certain point though it becomes about longevity vs an epic moment. I want to ride my bike for the next 40 years….not spend half my seasons recovering.
bro has the coolest life story from broken back and bed bound playing video games to hanging with redbull snow and mtb athletes learning how to do tricks honestly one of my hero's hope you feel better soon tho
i had a repeatedly dislocating shoulder and got surgery to make the ball and socket joint more secure. deifnitely recommend it if you get the chance to look in to
@@steepsteep I also did! Had to get a cadaver body's ankle bone to secure to my humeral head, after three years of poppin I got the surgery and it was so chill, recovery was a lil while but I can do pull ups and so much more now. Dr Lo in Calgary - highly recommend! Best wishes and speedy recoveries to you dude
@@steepsteep Jumping in here to recommend the 'Latarjet' procedure for a torn Labrum. As a big snowboarder, my shoulder sublux'd like 30-50 times over the course of a few years. They basically cut off a bone moved it somewhere else and now i'm so dialed it's insane. Haven't had a problem since! (Except for weight training, it's a little harder to push the shoulder but that's expected).
+1 to the suggestion about the Latarjet procedure. the recovery was kind of a bitch, but it's now rock solid. Went from worrying about the shoulder when sleeping to not thinking about it at all.
Im also going for something like the Latarjet Procedure this Winter, just with a bone piece off of my iliac crest (Doctors in Germany all recommend doing that) Had several dislocations, then got surgery for fixing my torn Labrum and it happened again and again… I’m really looking forward to actually enjoying next biking and snowboarding season again… After a few times it pops out so easily that to me it even happened when casing jumps, so I had to make the decision that in the current state I have to quit biking until I get the surgery. Hopefully I get the same result as you guys and can stop worrying about my shoulder…
Don't be embarrassed. On the internet it is super common to only see the makes. Everyone falls. Everyone gets hurt. (Show me a serious rider who's never had an injury). Its part of the sport. Right now is what separates those who go far from those who fade away. The things not on instagram. The rehab, the silly mobility exercises, and the hardest part....not doing things so you can heal, these are the things that get you back in game, and sets up your quality of life down the road. Like always you seem super positive with your attitude and that is key. Stay strong, heal fast, get better, get married, then get back at it.
I broke my left arm radius 6 months ago while skiing last season, required surgery and an implant. Thanks for being an inspiration to push myself into doing more things. Next season im going to learn 360. Hope you recover soon.
I had labrum surgery-didn’t help a lot after a year. Kept coming out of place. Was scheduled to have another surgery but was skeptical on the recovery after the first one. Hit the gym hard instead and put on a bunch of muscle and now my shoulder feels better than ever! Much love wishing you a speedy recovery!
Tore my labrum skiing three years ago skiing and had surgery to repair it two years ago. Now it's my "good" shoulder. Took a full six months of PT before I was back on the MTB but worked really well for me. Hope you get better soon dude!
I saw the clip in Instagram and was stoked man So proud of you fir the progression In no time you'll give it another try and land it From that fail you get the most important lesson, if you're gonna do something, commit fully I cant wait to see you land these on dirt
A star-studded video! I wasn't expecting to see Jackson Goldstone cheering you on. Super dope. Heal up and saddle up. I'll shred extra to try to make up for you.
Hope you heal up quickly! It's always tough breaking bones but you can always learn something from it and improve from what you've learned once you get back on
Love your attitude and approach to stunts like this! I'm on the same path towards the flip - with a bit more than four decades of wear on my body. It's not easy, but you gotta have goals!
dudeeeeeeee, unlucky but you did it!!! rest and recovery and no matter what you learn on that bike the most important lesson is always getting back on!!! been dealing with a shoulder injury as well and to see you do the things you do reminds me that theres alot better things to do than dwell on my injuries. would much rather get back up and keep riding till the wheels fall off!!! stay up brotha! hope we cross paths one day, peace from new orleans
Sick video man!! Big respect for the send! Wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully we get to see you land one in the dirt soon, I'm sure you can do it!! 🙌🙏❤
you had it!!! :) I would say dislocating your shoulder multiple times during some years it starts to mess with your balance in the air, not a problem when you land straight but might be if you have to make big corrections in the air to save yourself on a fall. Unconsciously you might avoid certain movements in the air to prevent potential shoulder instability/dislocating ending up making your fall worse. Kinda same concept as full send on a jump and re-thinking it last second which will mess your balance in the air. Hope you get well soon!!
Dude, this hole vid I was stressed out. Just waiting for you to have an accident. Thank god you can dance at the wedding! Love the vids brother! YEEEEEWWW
I feel you bro I'm going through recovery too (got some fractures from mtb)- same thing, just frustrated that I didn't call last run sooner, heal up fast
Congrats dude thats a huge thing. Upside down on a bike is a big mental game! What a trio of blokes to coach a flip too. I'd like to flip a dual suspension eventually but there's so many vids of people jamming their arse on the tyre and going full fronty instead. Looks like a bad day ;) I'm personally tired of the last-one superstition/trope. Your body will do pretty much whatever your brain says. If your brain tells you body that "this is the last one and that means I'm gonna stack" then that's prolly gonna happen. I think it prolly originated from the same origin as "it's always in the last place you look", like, of course you stop looking after you found it. Of course, you got hurt on your last one because once you got hurt you stopped riding. Instead, I like to call a last run and smile, knowing it's gonna be my most perfect hit of the day.
Sitting on my hotel bed overseas with a golf ball sized ankle 😅 this was awesome to watch steep. Wish you the best recovery brother 🙏 💪 you're way better than you think Congrats on getting a missus steep before gta6 ❤
Oh man, I absolutely feel you… I dislocated both shoulders in sum 50+ times, had 3 surgeries to fix that, and now I’m sitting here and do old-man-stuff. I wish you all the best, that you can keep doing sports as long as you enjoy it ❤
Good job on the backflip tho !! As other said, take it slow with the shoulder, i had them both fully dislocated ( the right one literally spinned ) in some calisthenics/gymnastics crashes and recently i injured them both again in last year playing basketball blocking some shots in bad angles. Look at Strength side on youtube but long story short: hanging from a bar, easy body weight balancing exercises , 2-3kg weight on each hand and move them and spin them , and slowly and ideally, some pullups. Thats what put my shoulders back in business everytime. Speedy recovery mate, love the channel !!
I bailed the same, thought I rolled away good, until I tried to put weight on my left leg.... I think coming in sideways is what made it worse for us. I sprained my knee, chipped tibia, sprained ankle, and some sharp pain on my hip when i lay on that side. Glad you in good spirits, heal up quick!
Everybody around me knows that I don’t do “one more” “just last one” etc. it’s like law, something bad will happen every time. Take your time, recover well and keep rockin!!😊
Atleast you got Jackson Goldstone hyping you up. Feel you tho, broke my shoulder and rib the first week of summer vacation on an easy track just washing out the front wheel.
I tore my labrum almost 10 years ago. With the help of doctors I've been able to help prevent dislocations but even then it still comes out 1-2x a year which really sucks so I feel your pain there.
name more of an iconic duo than steepsteep and breaking something while doing a backflip.
I don’t know lol
instakill and double points in cod zombies
Doing it on a bike like that is wild though

The photos are epic though!! Heal up homie
Much love bro ❤️
Your attempts (&successes) looked really good! Keep at it and you will achieve what many of us don't have the guts to do. Also, really cute Kitty!
