Hi Ana, thanks for warning people. It happened to me a few years ago and it all happened so quick without my knowledge. Mine happened in another prime area the indoor market,( wallet stolen, money and card stolen, thief caught using card after I stopped and reported it, but not nice and time consuming filling in forms and reporting though police were great). People need to vigilant especially around the money exchanges, as thieves know you might have cards, cash, passports with you and watch for opportunities. Even worse if busy as it can be in the summer or if it rains. Hope this helps to make people aware and keep their belongings safe and enjoy their holidays.
Thanks for an interesting video Ana, some very good advice to tourists, but I think Benidorm (and Tenerife) are much much safer than most UK towns and cities. 👍😁🏝🏖☀️🇪🇸
Bit nervous now as I'm staying at hotel Orange next week. On my own😱 I do only take out what I need for the day/night. Will leave my phone & valuables in safe on a night I think. At least I'm aware now thanks to your channel.
I’m sure you’ll be alright! ☺️ enjoy your holidays and don’t worry, you’ll be fine if won’t bring too much money or valuables with you to the streets👍🏼
Sorry but you can be any where in Benidorm. Myself and daughter arrived and went to check in at our hotel. We came out of the hotel to go to supermarket to get some water, the hotel was 2 minutes away. When we got back to the hotel my bag had been stolen, unfortunately I hadn’t emptied my bag, so everything was in it. The police was not interested, they sent us on a wild goose chase to different police stations after waiting 1 1/2 hrs to be told to go to a hotel they will help me. This has happened to me twice in Spain and I swore this would never happen to me again, how wrong can you be, but it has😢. I told the police I will never come back to Spain again, he said it’s not the Spanish people, that really made me feel better. I was on my 65th birthday bash. Thank you Spain a memory I will never forget again. This happened a month ago, July 2023. I did get home, which is another story.
Im petrified now! Im coming alone, in 2 weeks, LGBT male, will be at the old town, would it be ok till 10pm ish then head back in a taxi? Is there taxi stops near?
Sure, don't worry too much about it! Old town is usually very busy. The advice would be: don't bring too much money in cash with you, no too expensive watches, rings, etc, don't go through dark streets with few or no people after midnight. There are taxi stops right next to Dove Park/milords suites, another on the opposite side next to alehop shop, just type it in the maps and it will show you the way, all these ways to taxi stops are always busy with people👍
Been going Benidorm since 1987 never had any trouble, it's you that's the trouble putting people off we always stay on cala ibiza we walk up and down yellow brick Road all the time, get yourself a new job because your not very good at that one 😮
Thx Ana. Very informative as usual.

How did it go?
@@stephenfisher9451 a shit hole, no issues but the place itself is an absolute dump haha
@@Beardy_Scotsman That's good that there weren't any issues I've already booked to go but will have to just go with it and judge for myself
