I have once greeted his mother in law Sudha Murthy in Mysore. She was in a supermarket as a commoner purchasing something. She is extremely humble, despite being the most influential person in Karnataka and also in India, she stays the same even today.

I think you didn't get the gist here... Everyone knows that he is there to make policies for UK and look for the betterment of UK... But, the point here is, he is from Indian origin and Britishers had colonized Indians for many years... No Indian is expecting Rishi to blindly take decisions for India's interest... This just shows how India able to come out of all the bad things happened to them for many years... We might not relate to it completely, but our Grand Parents, or parents will understand it better...

1.There is no racist backlash against Sunak becoming PM in the UK.
2.Sunak’s family were colonial administrators, so anyone claiming that this is some sort bizarre cosmic karma could not be more wrong. The Empire was by an for a colonial administrative class, not the common people of Britain, and Sunak’s family were part of the very class that administered the Empire.
3.Sunak add hundreds of billions of debt to the UK economy at one of the fastest rates of debt accumulation the UK has ever experienced.
4.Truss has not ruined the economy, she made mistakes but she u-turned and by the time she announced she was resigning the economy was back to the same state it was when she took office as PM.
5.Sunak is inheriting the economy in the same state as he left it when he left office as chancellor.
6.Sunak has not been elected nor by the Conservative party membership. He only just got over half of Conservative MPs to back him.

Rishi Sunak's paternal grandparents were born and raised in Gujranwala, Punjab in modern day Pakistan. So as a Pakistani i also feel happy that someone who has roots in these lands has become the PM of UK. I wish him all the best for his tenure as Prime minister.

Proud that a Punjabi Hindu became PM of UK. Especially knowing how many Punjabi Hindus pretend to be Sikh for some reason despite Punjab being the homeland of Hinduism. He's proud of his ethnicity and religion which is so refreshing for someone like me. Seems like karma for it to happen considering what colonialism did in Punjab and the whole subcontinent really. Hope he shows them how you truly lead a nation and make it prosper and not loot and torment the people.

I'm just not finding it that big of a deal to be honest. He’s PM because UK currently has no other candidates to put forward. He wasn’t chosen. He was substituted. And I really really don’t care about the colour or faith… the ONLY thing I care about is COMPETENCY. Can he pull his country out of the mess it’s currently in? It’s especially annoying to see the way the Indian media is portraying this event. As if he IS Indian (which he’s not!) and he will be governing Britain FOR India. As if…!!! Born in Southampton England, I expect him to be proud of his Indian heritage. However, I think you'll find that most of us don't give a monkeys cuss about his heritage, just do the job without screwing us for mistakes made by your predecessors.

As for diversity, this is a man who went to Winchester (a prestigious boarding school) and then Oxford and Stanford Graduate School of Business. So I agree, we need more politicians who can relate to the majority of the population.

I have no idea what type of leader he is, I am a prould european citizen of Indian origin, I dont live in England or Britain altogether, but I just love him there.
For one: We were ruled by Britain for 200 yrs, now an indian is ruling them. It feels FANTASTIC
For second: When we were oppressed by Britain, there were literal signs, that prohibited INDIANS and DOGS (in same sign) access to certain places. Now we have AN INDIAN with a DOG, in there highest office (beside the royal family).
They can never be able to payback for what they did to India, they can never right the wrong, but this feels like a small victory and feels FANTASTIC, to be honest.

I'm an Indian, and I'm so glad that the Rishi Sunak become the prime minister of Uk.. Indian origin prime minister. I know he is a British citizen, but he is an Indian by blood. he is the son and son-in-law of India. he is married to an Indian woman... I'm so happy..it has been only 75 years since India got its independence.. How did the British rule india?. . they ruled india by dividing india in the name of religion, color and politics. we took our freedom from the British and then what did they do... then they took the 45 trillion they stole from us and ran away. after independence India liberated Israel, Bangladesh and African countries. India fought against imperialism... there is a big difference between geo politics and politics in our countries..
after the British stole 45 trillion from here, what remained here was the starvation and misery of some poor people... It's only been 75 years, and now we are a fifth economic power in the world... we are ahead of the British economy now.. by 2025 we will overtake Germany and 2027 Japan to become the third economic power... if we look at our country's PPP, we are already the third economic power (ppp 11 trillion dollars).. while the entire world is in recession, India is not yet in recession... actually growth is happening in India right now... the international monetary Fund has share some numbers . there's a projection for Asia the region will continue to grow. but at 4.6 percent. that is the growth rate IMF Projecting. what about India. The IMF predicts strong performance by the Indian economy.. it project's a 7.4 percent growth rate for India. that's the highest any major economy..
In America It's a negative growth, approximat minus 8 percent.
Take the case of Britain. its Prime Minister resigned after 44 days.. do you know why?.. same recession.. Britain's economy has never been more dependent on a resource... In short, stability is the only thing that keeps its financial system afloat.. britain has lost that stability.. many companies from Britain have said that they are interested in investing in India... that means they are not interested in investing in Britain..
After all, a person of Indian origin is the Prime Minister of the UK.... I don't know if he can help Britain.. But I wish him all the best from India.

Congratulations to Rishi Sunak, and while I can recognise the historic significance of his appointment, I don't see that he represents the majority of British Asians. He will be representing the same wealthy elite as the rest of the tories. He is privately educated and crazy wealthy. His life experience is not representative of the vast majority who are marginalised and continue to battle the kind of systemic racism that excessive wealth can bypass to some degree. Just a tip: If you're gonna talk, pause the video. You're missing a lot of gems talking over the video. When you're done talking, focus on what's going on. But you shouldn't pause at the wrong time. You'll miss a lot of moments that way too. My advice: finish the video and then start talking.

I am just thinking the immense pressure he is under now... One wrong step, one wrong policy and the whole country will come down at him.. he would have to have an extraordinary run to then be qualified as an 'average' pm in the eyes of most Brits, anything less than that it's just going to be labelled a disaster, his affluent background would also be under scrutiny, it's like crossing an active volcano by walking over a thread...
Guys always call yourself an Indian.. not asian. Even though I m from northeast n I look like somewhat asian but I proudly call myself as an Indian.
