    Playing pedal steel with her microphone? What an absolute beast.

    I’m always reminded of what a pleasure it is to look at St.Vincent preform. Yes, sir. Though bravo to the band as well; together, they make for quite the synthesis of spectacle and style. Keep rockin’ on, legends

      Right? I can barely keep up with her and that’s part of the fun.

      Yes, but this is probably her endgame: pure "poptimism".
      It's what she'll have to continue doing to stay on the radio, keep putting bums in seats, and not get dropped by her label. It's an eternal Let's Dance, Young Americans, and Station to Station. We're not going to ever hear her equivalent of Low, Scary Monsters, or Blackstar - and she is likely capable of work on that level.

      @@Baribrotzer of little faith you are. you make valid points, most are driven by the bottom line. that's why i'm up early grinding. but i will at least hope that she continues to move as her muse directs, without consideration of fortune... blackstar was fuckin awesome wasn't it

    Annie Clark aka St. Vincent is the absolute best! Seven full length albums full of brilliant, interesting, inventive music and none of the albums sound like the previous ones. And yet she is so underrated and underappreciated. Also, I just read that tomorrow's episode only has few songs and like less than 30 minutes. Why would you do this ACL?!? And not even including Annie Clark's new true masterpieces "Down And Out Downtown" and "Live In The Dream" from brilliant album Daddy's Home. Annie Clark performed the whole set but you only air few songs. What are you going to do with the performances and songs not aired?

    Not my favourite from the very brilliant and amazing album Daddy's Home but such a great opening track!
    Daddy's Home is a true masterpiece of an album. My favourites are Down And Out Downtown, Live In The Dream, The Melting Of The Sun and Somebody Like Me.

    I started losing interest when theater took precedence over playing guitar. And watching this video doesm't give me much hope.

    • @louduva9849
      @louduva9849 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Why? She's mixing things up - she might do a bluegrass record next. Why not?

    • @spodvoll
      @spodvoll 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@louduva9849 That's my point: the theatrical "performance art" seems to have taken precedence over the music itself. It's pretentious.

    • @walkingwounded8675

      Her first 4 albums sounded exactly the same ofc she changed it up

    • @spodvoll
      @spodvoll 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@walkingwounded8675 I didn't say a thing about the "sound".
      It's the theatrics. I think they detract from the music.
      That said, I disagree completely that the earlier music all sounded alike.
