The only regret for getting the Uptowns was not getting the Juices. I wasn’t sure I was going to be skating for a long time, but owning some decent skates is a game changer. I love my Uptowns, I put some roller bones wheels in it and I wouldn’t go without them. I recommend the Uptowns!
i can picture those yours in my head 🔥🔥💯. I've got two pairs of colorlab 395's. First is black boot red lace covers, reactor pro plates and SG monzas. My other pair is White boot red lace cover, aruis platinum plates with another set or monza's 😅
@@rellbeensavage_8181 unfortunately I hAve 595s and redline fanjets but don’t hAve the laser plate. I had to settle for a cheap plate but it’s a good one…. 😂
i have the fames and the some old 120s on sure grip century plates. Both on fame wheels . I love them both; both fit well and are fun but I HATE the foam tongue on the 120s. the 120s seem pre-broken in since I got them used. I will be removing the foam and replacing with something that is less grippy. There are some videos of people doing that.
I just bought some skates, 120 riedell boots alone was $149 and bought a set of sure grip classic plates for $79 that comes with the jump bar, with mounting and tax+shipping it came up too $287.
@@allabouthim03 Your review was great! And thank u! I didnt get to skate in them yet I ordered them Friday they come in monday, I cant wait to brake em in 😎 But i think you should definitely check out some sure grip plates and see if you like, they are the best and last a life time!

Carl, I'm a new skater so I'm in learning mode. My fames came last week, and I'm learning how to skate with them..but I have a question. How do I adjust the trucks so they can give me more pivot to make turns? These fames just have the top nut, so is that how these skates work? I don't want to break my neck or have these skates come apart.
Sorry to hear that Brother 😣. My skates actually came with jam plugs. I didn't want the plugs so the rink owner actually removed the plugs and gave me a brand new set of stoppers out of the pack. I probably should have said my skates did not come with the stoppers, sorry.
@@allabouthim03they're real leather, it's just not the same quality compared to Riedell's made to order/Custom built boots. With Riedell, you basically pay for exactly what you get so the more you spend the better the quality! & once you go Custom riedell, You'll never go back 😂😂🤷🏾
If this is the boot you've started skating with then your feet are probably having to get accustomed to just skating and breaking in a boot at the same time. The boot feels fine, I find the tongue is what hurt the front of my leg, even with long socks. I could lace my previous boots all the way to the top with no issues. I find the 120 are more comfortable if I only lace them up to the 2nd set of hooks. The tongue, as you know, has a rubber foam backing that is uncomfortable to me. I cut down a pair some ankle socks and slide them over the tongues, that worked out wonderfully for me for the shin pain.
I feel like I can't cross my feet they feel stiff even after adjusted I can only backward skate and feel I have complete control besides that they are good
@@agentkay_1456, have you tried not lacing all the way up? I just bought the Riedell Crew, which is also the 120 boot, and I've been leaving the upper-most speed hook unlaced and leaving the 2nd and 3rd ones really loose. This allows my ankle a bit more freedom. Once I break them in, I'll fully lace up. I was having so much trouble with crossovers, until these boots! The game has changed.

Just purchased these for $199! Thanks for the review. Can't wait to try them out!
Thanks for the review bruh!
I will be buying my son a new pair for his birthday.
Thanks for posting this. It's just what I needed. I was on the fence. Thumbs up.

Getting a pair of Uptown’s soon and i’m stoked!

Very good review thanks for showing the inside of the skates.

I’m doggy now but it’s been a good amount of time and my gf convinced me to get a new pair. I love the way the Fames look to much
The Sonic Fames are a good, comfortable, light weight skate but they just don't hold up well if you skate a lot.

How would you compare them in sizing? Did you wear the same size in both?
Yes, the same size. I wear a 9.5 to 10 sneaker. The 9 skate fit me perfectly.
Have you noticed if the wheelbase of the uptown’s are wider than the sure grips?
Actually the sure grip truck base is about 4mm wider than the uptown.
Damn they just bust my head for 220 yesterday for my riedell AND took my toe stopper

I understand your reservations, but mine are real-thick leather👍🏽.
