When I was teaching third grade in public school a few decades ago, I had a new student who was deaf. She had a full-time interpreter who spent a few minutes each day teaching us all sign language. I was amazed at how quickly the entire class picked it up and before we knew it, they had taught signs to a good share of the other kids in the grade level. It was quite a year and we all learned so much!
Oh my heart, Blake you are such a wonderful son. Thanks to our teachers, the parents who *truly do* love their children, to everyone who shows a child they are loved-because we kids know when we’re not.
5:05 this made my heart melt this is the first time in a long time, I’ve seen people being “kind” to someone whom is different from them, that felt truly “GENUINE” I am so happy and proud of those other children around her, I wish I had a loving community like she has. That’s just wonderful. ♥️
Thank you, Steve Hartman for your uplifting segments. I look forward to each of them, every time. Thank you for your lessons in humanity. You show us all that kindness, respect, dignity and responsibility go hand in hand when forming a friendship, family, community and country.
I LOVE these videos and I use them in my 5th grade class all the time. This popping up on TH-cam today was perfect timing since I meet my new students on Tuesday. Thanks!!!
As much as I despise major news networks, any story done by Steve Hartman draws me right in and hits my emotions. Love this type of human-to-human journalism.
Teachers are really dedicated and hard working people...they need our wholehearted support and respect

The businessman who gave the scholarships is amazing! What a change he will make in so many lives. Especially by paying for the parents as well.
