Credit to you for promoting small family businesses, even for the best it's not looking like the future is going to be easy. Nice that you're giving them exposure.
That's a winner all around. Will have to check that out next time I am in Torquay. 10/10 for proving a cheap and respectable breakfast can be achieved during the Cost of Living crisis, and a great place. Glad you enjoyed Lee. All the best.
I'm going to be harsh and give it a 7. Black pudding is mandatory as an option. And don't think I haven't noticed the absense of mushrooms. A great effort for the price though.
Lee, you should always serve hot meals on a hot plate. I have been to some restaurants where the meal has been spoiled by being served on a cold plate - schoolboy error!
Give it about 6 months max, that hotel will be requisitioned by the Home Office. Nearly all of the tourist hotels in Skegness have now become unavailable to British paying customers.
Spot on! For me an full English starts with juice, then cereal, then onto the mains, followed by toast and jam or marmalade all swilled down by a builders tea, always in that order.
I'm speechless an all inclusive breakfast meal for a fiver, fantastic. I personally have the cereal first with fruit juice. The hot breakfast after with toast and sometimes finish with a yogurt. Always make sure I get my money's worth. Very good vlog Lee, that is the cheapest all you can eat breakfast I have ever heard of in this day and age👍🏽♥️P.S watched your vlog on my TV as you can see everything so clearly.
Sorry mate, you are not in Torquay at all, you are in Sunny Babbacombe, near to Babbacombe beach, sorry rocks, pebbles and lovely they are too, Torquay with a bit of sand as a beach, (very nice too)is the opposite side of the peninsular, miles away.
Some of us from the local church have been going there for about 6 months or so now, absolutely solid breakfast. Literally just came back from there this morning and everyone's going nuts about the video review! Hopefully it won't be too busy for us now ;) Definitely recommended, it's cheap even for round here. It's supposed to finish at 10, but it's normally packed out till well after half past. Might have to subscribe and see where else you've discovered! ETA: Porridge is water based there, so if you like your oats you might have to improve it with a jam pot or two! Everything else is pretty perfect.
Got to be the best value meal anywhere, you've got to score it a 10 all day long. God bless them for doing this, no wonder it's packed. I love a hot breakfast buffet, better than waiting for it to come out of the kitchen.
OMG Lee. After trying the breakfast, we went today for the Sunday lunch. It is amazing! Everything feels home cooked and it is carvery style for £10. You have to come down and have one. The best roast I have ever had.
I've always understood cereal first, could probably nit pick at that breakfast but for £5 I won't, so nice to see somewhere offering that kind of value, I'd take that over a spoons brekkie any day, great vid :)
Come from Torquay, went there a couple weeks ago .For 5quid you can’t moan about anything. The other day they had 250covers plus hotel guest. They don’t do lunches there except on Sunday..👍
Torquay was famous for watery fowls and basil ,Manuel, Mrs Richards not having a view of the sea but was between the land and the sky that’s hotel looked like it from outside 😊
Great video! It reminded me of the time my 8yo son saw his first hotel buffet breakast and grabbed cereal and toast first. Sure enough, by the time he loaded up with eggs, bacon and hash browns, he said he was too full to finish. As a sympathetic dad, I told him "ROOKIE ERROR!"
Lee, I had Sunday lunch at two Michelin star restaurant in Marlowe. Famous chef. £150 for two of us. Lovely food spoiled by the fact each course (3) was merely warm, not hot. Plus you need a magnifying glass to find it on the plate. Never again. I’ve been to tow along food trailers that served superb food for peanuts. Keep bigging up the good ones.
Hi there, another fantastic video from you like always. Just to say I do enjoy these videos from you travel on the road over the UK. I think it’s great. Keep up the good work
Cereal and Orange Juice before cooked breakfast in that order then toast with jam or Marmalade then tea, Yorkshire TEA yummy, you did very well there, that should last you alday...10/10 from me. Then go back much later for Cod and Chip dinner....
I remember back in the day when you could get B&B for £5, they always served cereal first followed by egg and bacon. So that is the traditional order but you can do it whichever way you want.
Cereal (with coffee & fruit juice). Full English (with tea). Pastries (with coffee). That's the order, that's the rule 😄 For £5, it's 5 star. 10/10. Even Basil Fawlty would like it. Tip vid MacM
With being a buffet it's a bit different but normally at a hotel when they serve your full English the cereal etc are there so you've got a selection while waiting . What l loved about the video Lee was seeing all the OAP's there dining together .. thoughts of my mum ❤
I'm loving your videos lee, this one was really good value, the only thing is I had a sleeve operation last Monday and I can't eat that!!!! I'll still keep watching you though!!! Oh I have the cereal before!!! X
OK I think i've sussed this, it seems like a coach trip short break (Shearings ilk) where it's all inclusive, fair play to them to invite the general public in as well to eat what they have to deliver any way. every little helps
All you can eat for £5 excellent value for the money Lee,definitely worth a 10, cereal first then the breakfast followed by the toast and jams and pastries
Absolutely fantastic deal. Looked great to. Not sure I'd want cereal before or after a full English. Isn't it just an alternative? Don't know, I'm not sure? I'd certainly give that a 10\10.
I stayed in Torquay this summer with my fiencee Gloria and we had breakfast at the Anchorage Hotel and for £5 it's without doubt one of the best value and most delicious cooked breakfasts I've ever had. I rate it 10 out of 10.
A hotel in Torquay you say. Could you see the Sydney Opera House from your room? Or The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Or Herds of Wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain?
@Jon Tibbatts It's not the first time I've paraphrased Basil Fawlty and received a strange response. I assumed everybody knows these lines but apparently not, they are nearly 50 yrs old I guess. But you got the reference so at least somebody remembers good comedy.
Hot plates, always a bonus. Breakfast looked good but fry up before cereal isn't even a question Lee, my friend, always cereal first. No to cold milk on Weetabix too
I honestly don't know how they can do it for that price Lee, just absolutely fantastic value for money and I sincerely hope that they do really well. They look will Bookers sausages and they are 20p a sausage as they come frozen and straight lol. Hash Browns are 20p, Bacon at least 25p a slice and eggs are now around 20p each and bread, even cheap budget bread is 10p a slice. The jams and butter portions are 10p a portion and then you have the cereals at 40p a serving like you see. Just do the maths, £5.00 has 20% VAT (£1.00) so they are relying on big numbers to make anything. Sorry to be anal but I just wanted to give an honest opinion from the other side that the customer is unaware of. Absolutely brilliant value for money and good quality.
Unbelievable deal. Amusing, and understandable, to see the blue rinse set scouting out a bargain. I guess they're the next generation from the old old ladies who hung out with Basil at Fawlty Towers, which was also in Torquay.
Lee to be honest mate , You need that Full Haerty breakfast for waiting around in the Freezing cold ...Waiting for that Motor of yours to Fully Charge up. , lol ...Great vlogs mate , keep Spreading the word about these daft and silly forms of Transport , Known has EV,s...
Got to say, we are on our way home from Solihull where we stayed in the Premier Inn town center. £40 for a room with a king size bed and small one for my daughter, bargain. Had breakfast at the onsite restaurant (not Beefeater, Brewers Fayre etc) £9.50 for each adult (we fibbed about my daughter's age so she was free!) It was a bargain. The sausages were excellent, all odd shapes and sizes, not perfect shape and length catering style and very meaty. Bacon lovely, hash browns crispy, beans nice as were mushrooms. Fried eggs I didn't have as I always avoid buffet ones unless they are served while I am there but there was some really nice scrambled in any case. Add to that, yoghurt, fruit, muffins, pastries, cereal and unlimited Orange, Apple, Cranberry juice, tea and coffee. All that for £9.50 a head you don't expect gourmet food but it was bloody good, much better standard than several cafes I have had recently (including the one you went to in Surbiton, tried that one last week and it was bloody awful in both standard and price!) I do think cafes have gone downhill over the past few years, all the ones near me no longer resemble the traditional "builders cafe" and now look like breakfast bistros serving breakfast for 3 or 4 quid more than the old days with less on the plate and of lower quality as the places just look the part.
Just been for our breakfast there and it was great. Well worth the money and more. They also do a £10 Sunday roast which is worth a try. You need to come down this way again and go to the Credit Crunch busting Cattleman's Arms in Paignton. £5 a couple of days a week for a proper home cooked lunch. Also the Crafty Issac Merritt which used to be a Spoons but now serves proper home cooked food at Spoons prices. There are bargains to be had in Paignton if you look!
Another mouth waterer, thanks. Nothing beats a fry-up 👍, unfortunately, l'll never look at a sausage in the same way anymore (will just think, poodles 🥴) 😂😂
An outtake in the Intro, PMSL! Short and Sweet, that was absolutely amazing value.10 is not a high enough score. Out of interest, Cereal & Juice 1st, then Fry Up with toast for egg or beans, finally Tea/Coffee & Toast and marmalade. I would have had 2 eggs though, but since its AYCE, I would probably go up for another plate full. Off the Charts as DJ says, 10+/10.
Well there you are - another business owner in place for 30 years - they wouldn't last that long if they were were no good. And well done for keeping those prices down when it has never been needed more - £5 - BRILLIANT - and here's to another 30 years for the family to keep the business running and way BEYOND! Try a bit of golden syrup or honey on your ONE weetabix - I thought man food included at least TWO or even THREE! Also if hot milk available - great on weetabix and shredded wheat. Lovely place and great review - thanks!
Amazing value that it sorta reminds me of a Spanish hotel buffet. Btw you put two slices of bread in the toaster but only took one slice of toast to your table 🤔
According to the Royal Butler you would start breakfast with a glass of freshly squeezed orange or apple juice. You then have a cereal such as bran or similar and then the full English breakfast. Bon Appetit.
Another brilliant video Lee. 10/10 for me. Can’t fault that price or quality. I will say 1 I think cereals should be before the hot food but each to their own .. 2 I’ve seen so many of your videos where you mention the beans touching the tomatoes … but then when you have fried bread you use both the tomato and bean juice 🤷🏼♂️👀😂 AND you have brown sauce together with ketchup that must be a English thing ? Lol
Wow great hotel & amazing value breakfast, I prefer tinned tomatoes as well and surely would be easier to prepare as well!!! Also Lee cereal always before you main breakfast easy 10 that one.
For me, I always have cereal before the cooked brekkie. I stay regularly at a hotel in Blackpool where the brekkie is a buffet, so I have cereal and tea, then get the cooked stuff and the toast! Lush! Well apart from the fact they don’t have tattie scones, but not everything in life is ever perfect, eh! So, to recap, cereal, hot food and toast. In that order!
Alright mate, any plans to hit the usa again soon? Maybe vegas at some point. So many great eats there. I heading there for the 6th time in February and can’t wait
I will mark this on looks and price 9.9 for nocked it back a bit because it’s not all day breakfast but it’s good value for money especially with it been an hotel I think more hotels should do this
That looked a bargain and nicely cooked. Drone threw a wobbly?! The other clientele looked as though they were down on their coach holiday/ Turkey and tinsel break, there you are, in 25 years time you can vlog those breaks, lol.
Forb 5 quid Lee it's really awesome but to be honest blackpool one looked to me what I'd prefer ,make your own toast at yer table it just had home cooked written all over it but this one i ain't knocking it looks lovely but a hotel breaky👍
Boy plenty of selection and you plate of breakfast looks spot on...the egg...done to perfection, cost etc 10+
Credit to you for promoting small family businesses, even for the best it's not looking like the future is going to be easy. Nice that you're giving them exposure.
Blue rinse brigade in full effect in Torquay Lee. Did you pull 🤣😉🙃

A really good breakfast and great value for money 10/10.
Always on warm/hot plates.
Cereal before the hot breakfast, toast and preserves after.
I'm going to be harsh and give it a 7. Black pudding is mandatory as an option. And don't think I haven't noticed the absense of mushrooms. A great effort for the price though.
All my life it’s always been cereal first, then the breakfast, then Toast and Marmalade or Jam, and Tea. I’m 70 now so that’s a few years. 😊
Lee, you should always serve hot meals on a hot plate. I have been to some restaurants where the meal has been spoiled by being served on a cold plate - schoolboy error!

Hate cold plates
Why does it need t be hot
@@s125ish keeps your food hotter for longer hun
Wow. Great good and so cheap. Lee you have outdone yourself this time.
What a lovely little hotel! Great find. Good luck to them, as you say Lee, support local businesses. Onwards!
Cereal always before. Isn’t Torquay where they filmed outdoor shots for Fawlty Towers?
It is. :)
Give it about 6 months max, that hotel will be requisitioned by the Home Office. Nearly all of the tourist hotels in Skegness have now become unavailable to British paying customers.
great looking breakfast amazing value for all that selection
Spot on! For me an full English starts with juice, then cereal, then onto the mains, followed by toast and jam or marmalade all swilled down by a builders tea, always in that order.
Torquay is the location of Fawlty Towers (based on a real hotel!). Food looks to be an 8.5 but price is great.
My sister lives in Torquay, loads of free hols all year round .Great place .
10/10 in this day and age wiv cost of living etc brilliant idea by the owner Lee in my opinion

Don't mention the war! Not forgetting the Major too who wouldn't have it that it was the worst hotel as he knew a place in Eastbourne!
Fully agree lee, I've ditched alot of the chain places now and choose local places to purchase goods.
I don't use amazon anymore.

Yes Lee,cereal first! The eggs should be fried & not like those grilled ones & deffo tinned tomatoes sprinkled with dried mixed herbs👍
I am glad you are having a good time. Reminds me on the great 'Mr. Hulot's Holiday' movie with great Jacques Tati, 1953 (I was not born yet).
Cereal (with coffee & fruit juice). Full English (with tea). Pastries (with coffee).
That's the order, that's the rule 😄

Looks an excellent breakfast Lee, by the way cereal is always before the full English 9.5/10. I/2 point deducted for lack of mushrooms. 😋👍

Could have been turkey and tinsel weekend very popular this time of year! I'd say cereal/toast before hot meal definitely a 10 what a bargain for £5
Lee, I would give it a definite 10 too. The value is so good. I would eat my porridge/ cereal first.
Good value Lee.......trouble with hot plates they continue cooking the egg yoke sometimes over cooking it 😁..... ❤️💎 X
Been in there 4 times over Xmas and new year excellent everytime
glad your down in devon lovely fresh air great video
Over Christmas have had the breakfast most Fridays. Price has increasedvto £7;but still outstanding value.

Goes to show a lot of places taking the public for a ride with inflated prices. While people are prepared to pay they will keep on doing it.
Mazing!! Don't know how they can do it for "FIVER" but glad to hear they do!!! If I'm ever down that way I wouldn't go anywhere else for breakfast!!
I always have my sausages with my tomatoes, eggs with my bacon and beans with my hash brown. No mixing. Is anyone else a Full English saddo??? 🤣🤣🤣
The bacon and those hash browns looked scrumptious.
Cereal before the fry up then after croissant with tea not coffee great way have breakfast and value for money. 10/10.
