Other K-pop companies couldn't wait for BTS to go on hiatus so their groups would have more of a chance to get popular. A year later, everyone's revenue went down and then the music companies all started saying they couldn't wait for BTS to come back and inject interest back into K-pop. Who's the King? Who's the Boss?

Oh, I just finished watching that event as well. The whole concert was fantastic, but ARMY's intense fanchant warmed my heart. Hobi, accompanied by the orchestra, rocked it! I hope everyone that got tickets enjoys his tour💜🙏!

BTS are the trendsetters. Trends follow BTS' steps, but not kpop's. BTS' return will generate 100s of new trends for sure 🤙 the viral sensation that they are.
Yes, before BTS, the last one who actually trended & made a huge impact & brought cultural changes to South Korean society was Seo Taiji, the Father of KPop, of which he & his Boys band are not KPop themselves, they only inspired its beginnings. He helped popularized & also trended Hiphop from the US into the country, of which now Hiphop is embedded into the mindset, especially in KPop. Not just that but he also continued, since the 1980s, to popularize rock & metal music from the US, as people forget that Seo Taiji & Boys were not Hiphop, but Hiphop-Rock. And also a lot of social commentary in his lyrics of which BTS also had been doing because of the butterfly effect from Taiji (yes there were other KPop groups doing social commentary prior but not at the level of Taiji & BTS). Now Taiji has passed the torch/mantle to BTS in 2017. I hope BTS has another future collab with Taiji. We need Metal BTS. Maybe Electro-Nu-Metal BTS. Remember JK lipsyncing to Linkin Park?

Global interest in kpop has reportedly peaked in 2018-2023, and has been going down since.this literally proves what armys have been saying since forever. bts paved the way for kpop globally, without bts to keep international interest afloat.. kpop falls into becoming short lived trends

I personally would say that I started liking kpop and kdramas after I started listening to BTS back in 2019. And honestly there has been no other kpop group that I listen to till this day. Yes I have listened to songs from other kpop groups however, not like I listen and support BTS. Is just not the same to me. BTS just has a different connection that I love and will forever support. No shade to other groups. But BTS pave the way globally and I stand by that!🤷🏽♀️💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@kath8474 I watched the first Squid Games with the eng dub because I thought I would have a hard time with the korean. But now that I have found BTS since then I am now enjoying the 2nd season the way it was meant to be. The language sounds beautiful to me and I wish I could learn it!

You’re sweet Jose. You won’t shade them but I will. When BTS left kpop went back to its noisy, lack luster, empty, boring niche it was before. They put their attention on physical appearance with no substance nothing the rest of the world would be interested in. Kpop makes music for Korea not world on the other hand BTS makes music the world recognizes. The only interesting thing about kpop is they insists on putting BTS’s name to draw attention to their product but SK hates BTS and it makes me nauseous. So let kpop drop off it won’t be missed by me. BTS drew attention to kpop by their awesome talent but SK does everything in its power to ignore them, let them continue to rely on their nowhere favs. Let them keep playing at making music like little kids playing house while BTS continues to make adult music. As time goes by as a BTS fan, I’ve learned to just laugh off the fan fights and fandom drama online. It’s all imaginary stuff that doesn’t exist outside social media -in real world. I’d rather enjoy BTS's content in peace and study their art and wonder if I’ll get tickets to the next concert!! People give antis way too much attention. Everyone has the right to think their favorite artist is the best. But for me, it's BTS all the way.!!...And honestly, I think GP would agree with receipts.. shhhh... ; )

Yes, I'm torn between wanting them to be as successful as possible, but also just wanting them to be welcomed back by ARMY in a comfortable way, and making whatever kind of music they want to make without pressure to be commercially successful... not that I doubt they'll be successful of course! But as a fan I want them to be able to concentrate on making art, expressing themselves, and having fun, rather than having the entire economic hopes of the industry riding on their back.

When bts left a lot of groups (new jeans, ive, aespa etc) mainly girl groups were trending everywhere and gained a lot of popularity. But yeah no one can actually come next to Bangtan they are the standard
I also noticed that. Some newer groups worked hard and rightfully achieved some success in BTS' Chapter-2 era (for example-SKZ, NJ, IVE, LSF, ATEEZ, etc). Although, as a whole, kpop's popularity still manages to decline since 2023. The genre isn't as talked/searched about in recent years. However, BTS effortlessly stays at the top of k-pop, as the most relevant k-pop act, even in hiatus 💅
Plus: Hybe was busy having girlgroup drama in 2024. Other agencies also have groups directly competing with each other. When BTS & Blackpink got big globally they had no competition within the company.

I agree with this 100% but haters are on their job. This is why Bang Si-Hyuk is working for HYBE to expand in other industries. Other than my new found curiosity and enjoyment of Le Sserafim, I haven't been too interested in too many other K-pop groups. BlackPink are up there too, but they don't have a catalogue or the kind of influence as BTS. I think TXT and SVT and may have a global marketability, but the others...Idk. I hope BTS can help elevate the other K-pop groups, especially TXT and LSM.
I have a certain amount of respect for TxT they are sickly...but they always fall under BTS (asked for their help) and they have no problem saying that is what they do whenever asked in interviews. They are just sweet kids.
Bang PD already predicted this would happen in an interview, before BTS went on their group break, and enlisted in the military. The man knows what he's talking about. According to HYBE's shareholders meeting and their analyst projections, BTS coming back in 2025 will generate a lot of cash flow for HYBE, Big Hit. (BTS and ARMY are about to stimulate the economy). They are scheduled to release a much anticipated album in the second half of 2025, for their HYYH 10th anniversary, and they are also projected to go on a Global World Stadium tour in the first half of 2026. I can't wait!, and J-Hope will tour starting in February! I'm so excited.

Jose, I agree with EVERYTHING you said in this post, and I believe in BTS' ability to live up to expectations but, bc of each member's NEW insights and the changes that they'll bring as a group, is it possible that we're painting a bullseye on their backs that all the haters and nay-sayers will aim at?
We expect BTS to be SPECTACULAR, and they would NEVER let us down. I also believe that they will "recruit" tens of thousands+ more ARMYs with their return and their new music.
My ONLY concern is that there are miscreants who are just waiting for them to return, so they can try to hurt them. It's making me hella anxious.

It is usually the other fans and management that give our 7 a hard time. Most of the other artists are friendly with them and support each other. And, yes, even though they can't achieve BTSdom, many kpop artists have been working hard and putting out good music. Also, BTS attitude is fight it with positivity. What Hybe needs to do is push for radio play. I live in the northeast US and since Dynamite I have heard BTS on the radio less than a dozen times. Ridiculous!
It's understandable. however BTS would have to pay for that. They are not engaging in any corruption. BTS (& ARMY) has tried in so many ways for radio in the past. The industry is threatened by BTS & ARMYs power.
Radio is dead. Gen MZ don’t care radio. I live in Canada. I hear K-pop in many chain clothing shops and cafes often. This is more organic and I love it.
I also agree, I think people who are 20s and under "think" they are the only people who matter in the music industry, but it helps "greatly" for the majority of the population who is living and still thriving between ages 40-70 to hear BTS on the radio; radio exposure is essential. 40-70 year olds are the majority of the population, "have" the big jobs and run the economy in all 1st world countries.
No shade, really not but a lot of kpop groups still seem very cut and copy. There is a couple guy groups that peaked out, but now there is a in a way over saturation of kpop in the western market that it’s not as effective as it was before. Plus performance wise I think kpop fans and artist forget the west have a different expectation of live performances and attention grabbing performances that I don’t think all kpop groups have (without camera editing) that BTS has. I’m the reason I became a fan is how they performed for the fans and they didn’t seem like they were overthinking dance moves, trying to be cute or seem like “they have to” be there. I see some kpop groups and it looks very much “robotic” and like a “job” when they perform. I grew up with performers like Michael Jackson, Usher, Chris Brown, etc. That’s stage energy and style I think is untouched with BTS. But I blame the companies and choreographers of the other groups. They try and give them these over the top dance moves, styles that look in a way forced. It’s them trying to fit the performance style vs the performance style fit them. You can see it in the movement and facial expressions. I think each group needs more freedom to be themselves and creativity
BTS did not die. They are not disbanding. They are coming back on June 2025 of this year. People are just spreading rumors and they are just jealous because BTS are one of the most popular K-pop bands in the world and I’m so sick of hearing rumors about this people need to stop spreading lies about them and stop being jealous. BTS are great. Their music talks about loving yourself mental health youthful days. They are just awesome and amazing.

Ever since BTS take a left (or taken a break) my conversion about KPOP with my friends and other stranger have less and less. I become a BTS fan on the year of 2019 and I try to give other group a chance, I did like a lot of the group from the 2nd gen, 3rd gen, and 4th gen, but I just can't find other KPOP group with BTS aura and charisma. yes there is Big Bang with there explosive charisma and EXO's powerhouse aura, but BTS are just something else, and other KPOP fan who are not much fan of BTS can't see that.

@@ct7113 For me it's the message that BTS spreads in each song they make. I'm in America and artists here make some of the dumbest songs in my opinion. Our songs are about divorce, bling, gold diggers, drinking, parties, money, drugs, sex, sexualizing women, calling them hoes and the B word, which seems to be a thing now in America. I've heard some Kpop songs from really good groups who have made songs about some of those things recently. I won't name groups so i don't offend anyone, but BTS' songs are about positivity, loving yourself, healing, caring about others, etc. Their messages are truly for Army. That's why I can't get into other Kpop groups no matter how hard I try to listen to their songs. Don't get me wrong. I love EXO, Stray Kids and Ateez a lot but I only watch their funny stuff and may listen to some songs. With BTS i know every song they have as a group and all their solo songs as well as all the content I can find on them. BTS just hits different for me.

As an OG debut ARMY, I also want to raise the question: What happened in 2015 that suddenly sparked the rise in interest in kpop internationally? I'll answer it for anyone curious, that was the year the Tanie's popped off internationally, it was the year that marked the rest of their careers and they only kept rising from there. So anyone saying that BTS weren't extremely consequential to the rise of kpop as a whole and aren't the wind behind the sails of the "kpop wave" are lying to themselves and everyone else. I got to live it, experience it, and see it with my own eyes from the very beginning (something I will forever be grateful for), all the history rewriting happening is a testament to how much people STILL fear what they represent.
You all armys what's wrong with you??Even my favs are SEVENTEEN and i'm not like haughty and proud like you all saying that KPOP is nothing without BTS.Why are you all being so proud that BTS paved the way.Yes i agree that they paved the way,but at least have some respect to other artists too.Everyone in KPOP industry works hard for debut,but may not be as much popular as BTS still i value the efforts the idols put in.
Also,its not like everything revolves around BTS.BTS may be successful than other groups,but they may not hae much talent like other idols as everyone have their own strengths and weaknesses
Know that all other fandoms are going to work together to destroy BTS.

I am counting the days when OT7 are out of the military, I was shaking and crying at work when Jungkook went live at the end of December. I try to be fair and I have listened to ALOT of top boy K-pop and watched their variety shows over the past year( Stray Kids, SVT, TXT, Ateez). But the only ones that I really feel okay with is TXT they mention BTS ALOT and how much they helped them even with simple things like food. They are just sweet overall with amazing choreo and voices of course. But no one is BTS....TXT are just hard to dislike, they are very sweet and talented.
Let's just be honest!it's not about kpoop..er I mean kpop it's about BTS being beyond kpop !I don't know any other kpop group I don't plan to support any other ,if they disband it's about solo wether if they stay into the kpop genre.

It's not about BTS per se. It's because the music is not good. It is arrested development, and I am being kind in saying that. While I don't know all of BTS music, from what I have seen is that their music was evolving and growing. That is not the case for other groups. All they do is culture vulture and nothing else.

it´s crazy actually that jk was the most seached idol because imagine the other groups out there who each has a popular member who has 2-3 comeback a year and concerts and alot of activity and promotion. but JK only had since July with two singles and then in nov an album so the year was practically over by then. also Hybe keep making profit of BTS and kpop because they do solo careers with them too while BP dont they have their own label or American label so kpop dont get a single dime out of that. so that is why they keep a close eye on bts the industry will be doomed without them. but i dont like that they are pushing the boys to live up the the craze before they left. i mean sure they will have a successful comeback but i am not sure if it will bigger than dynamite and butter. but i hope it will.

Im warry of BTS being over scrutinize and overworked as a group coming back from the military in 41/2 months. I'm done with understanding how BigHit paid for the"free" Busan Expo bid concert! I was anxious for them before they left, and I feel that South Korea's economical dependency (though not huge) on Kpop, specifically BTS, might be a stressful environment going forward!😮
