Clay being from Maryland and doing a lot of offshore fishing there. I have a different theory on the mahi. During the summer mahi and other pelagic species will travel as far north as Maine, but heavily concentrated from the Carolinas to Hudson Canyon. Meanwhile you guys still have mahi in the keys. But as soon as the waters start to cool or the northeast those fish will head south. So during the summer you have 1000+ miles to scatter those fish, during the fall and especially winter, they get condensed in the southern portions of the Atlantic. That would be my guess on why you don’t see a lot of bigger mahi during the summer months.

Clay, I could say great video but I love that boat more. It really seems like you have all the room you need in back for fishing. Anything you wish it had?
Honestly, there’s nothing I would change on the boat other than its size some days. There are days where I wish I had a 27 Pathfinder but then again the 24 is smaller and thus easier to handle and clean as a one-man band. Thanks for watching.

You can do a lot with a boat like yours. If I didn’t live on the west coast of Florida and fish offshore so much, I’d probably trade my twin engine boat. Whenever someone who has never had a boat asks my opinion of what kind of boat they should get, I always tell them to get a big bay boat.
It has the most versatility of any boat. It makes the most sense if thats something that fits your lifestyle. We enjoy both the backcountry and going offshore. Thank you so much for watching.
