As a fixed wing and rotary wing and jet mechanic + Inspection Authorization for over 40 years, I cannot praise your methodology and presentation enough. I also can’t tell you how many times I have corrected owners or other mechanics work. I had a reputation as a hard ass but had a sizable client base that put safety first. There is no substitute for subject matter knowledge, technical publications, proper tools, and for Gods sake the proper and cared for gauging and measuring equipment. Guessing or SWAG is totally UNSAT. Clear and concise narrative. Great camera work. No Rube Goldberg. This is pure gold.
This will unleash an avalanche of new gauging videos. Hopefully from people who understand the information in a broad context rather than in a "this part failed, this part passed" context.
Man I was having a really crappy day, but this just made my day 1000% better. Just got mine ordered. Thanks Chad! (I mean Rebel!!! We know who's really responsible for bringing these to us.)
MSP Manufacturing is dipping their toes into more firearm stuff after years in the aviation/medical/military fields with small companies like L3 Harris and Boeing. Already doing work with the boys at Ripcord Industries. Hope you get more products out and keep passing on your knowledge dude, you're doing great work.
Omg, I’ve so been wanting this stuff. Literally, an hour ago I was looking at the gauges you recommended on Amazon and was looking for a technical manual that would say the dimensions for go and no go
Hell yes Chad, I've been wanting to do this to my own stuff FOREVER. You better believe I'm buying a set as soon as I'm able. I hope these are worth your time.
Thanks for making these available. People HIGHLY underestimate how important this stuff is to a well running rifle. If you ask me, these should be in the armorers tool set of every military installation.
I installed a new Cmmg barrel in my AR today. Ive been struggling with this weapon for a few years. It refused to run 5.56 ammo even though it was a 5.56 nato barrel. I did the ink trick on a couple rounds. Sure enough, the chamber was tight. I purchased a new barrel and am halfway through the replacement. With the old barrel out, a 5.56 will stick in the bore short of seating. Waiting on a couple parts now. Ill be done this week. Cant wait to run it! Thanks for what you do here.
I’m so excited for you being able to make this available. I’m starting a savings account just for SOTAR. Maybe one day I can even make it to class. Thank you Chad for making me want to make myself better and then showing the path forward.
The availability of these are great! I'm commenting on the video itself though. I have looked and thought about the gauges, but wasn't 100% sure exactly what gauges I'd get, what would have to be purchased separately, etc. This quick video was on point and was needed to clarify that Good shit man!!
As always, you continue to come up with great ideas. As one of the other viewers stated I have spent years pausing and looking at the gauges you have used and started collecting many of these as I never thought you would ever sell them. I have virtually all of them now except the bolt tail gauges and the safety hole one as I have never been able to see the printing on it. LOL You mentioned they can be purchased from Vermont gauge, I just need the dimensions so I can order them. As an aside, I received my gas key staking tool from Ned today along with the Orks bolts. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.
😪 here I thought I did good with my updated version of the Tactical Firing pin Retaining pin Removal Tool. 😂 Good deal, glad to see you’re able to put the set out for sale.
Oh i was too slow saw that at 11:00am, got home and now they are gone. Congratulations on selling out, I glad there is a big demand for them and I hope in a few months you have more to sell!
I literally just went to the website a few days ago to see of you offered this for sale, I'm new to the channel. This is so awesome. You read mind. I just purchased a big lot of deltronic go and no-go gages and handles from ebay to start putting together my own.
I'm building my first are in 7.62 x 39, I don't even have the lower assembled yet and I've already got three different bolt carrier groups A Black rifle arms enhanced BCG with buffer technology, and Toolcraft BOTH NiB And a Nitrided that came with my Bear Creek Arsenel Upper I need these gauges 😮😮😮!!!!
Thank you for your support of the AR15 community with your knowledge and commitment! I hope to be able to pick up a set soon. Thank you so much for putting this together!
Very nice looking tools, and I mean that quite sincerely. Would love to have 'em, and absolutely understand that you've gotta get something for your effort, but I plain can't justify spending that much. They'd be used a few times to gauge-verify what I already know from having them out to the range: My rifles may not be "ultra-tuned", but they absolutely do the job they're intended for. Then that beautiful gauge set would sit idle, gathering dust (Which is no way to treat fine tools - they ought to be used!) until I did a new build, which isn't happening all that often anymore. No real need for it - Let's just say my inventory of functional bang-sticks is hovering somewhere between "adequate" and "ample" at the moment. :)
As soon as the link starts working again I'll be placing my order, but I'd really like to see a 556 go/no go/field guage added to this set since that is the most crucial and important aspect, at least in my opinion. Thanks SOTAR
Check out "Titans of CNC" they were the ones that were able to help Brandon Herrera make the parts for his Ak 50. I'm sure they would be able to manufacturer these tools for you in the tolerances you want.
Nice! Any chance you'll start selling cutaway bolts and BCG's? Whenever people start gauging their own stuff and realize how bad it is they can send you their crap bolts/bcg to be EDM wire cut and turned into more educational tools for the masses. Love your stuff, miss the autopsy videos and fire restorations though. Wish you'd do more of those, but I understand... TH-cam doesn't really pay the bills, not directly anyways, but these gauges are great start!
THAT IS AWESOME!! I've been waiting for you to do this since i started watching your channel, lol. Of course, i'm strapped for cash at the moment -that's my luck..😡 But i'll check prices and 'be back' like Arnold Swartzeneggererr-r from The Terminator.😜💥💥💥
I should have snapped up one of those gauge sets a day ago before it was sold out..... duh. Anyway, how bout your opinion on something I wondered about but could never figure out a way to check. See if this makes sense to you. The carrier has a hole in it with the cut for the camming to work. It's another machining process, yes? How do we know if that machining is cut for the proper timing and degree of rotation in relation to the barrel extension? Just a thought. Once again great job.
“Titans Of CNC” on TH-cam might be able to help find you a competent machine shop. Aerospace machine shops in Washington could be a great place to start looking but I have know idea if they take on jobs like this.
@@charlieghague Believe it? It happened! Here's another one, I tried to order some Glock pistol parts; trigger shoe, striker safety and recoil springs from KM Tactical out of Missouri and they won't ship here. Good thing I've got more years behind me than in front because I am running out of businesses that are gonna get my money.
Please advise and update availability of the gauge set. May I place a 'backorder' order? I really enjoy your videos, and I have learned so much about the AR platform. Thank you!
Hello. I have now watched a number of you BCG inspections. All of which are superbly done and very understandable. Almost hypnotic. But you already know that. However, I have a question. I see you always include in the inspection a test for magnetism. So my question is how would a tiny bit of magnetism of some of the BGC parts be an issue? Just curious. Once again great job and thanks for your work.
It will collect ferrous particles from steel cased ammo and wear your gun's parts out slightly faster. That's what I remember his reasoning being. Not so much an issue if you shoot only brass cased.
The web site is overloaded... not surprised... I have always wanted this.
Site seems to be working, I managed to get a set on backorder
Access was denied to me. Guess third world countries don't deserve freedom 😂

The great and powerful Chad once again shows us all why he's a legend of the game.
That the folks at Supressor Tools added a spot for the "tactical firing pin retaining pin removal tool," sure is a nice touch!
This will unleash an avalanche of new gauging videos. Hopefully from people who understand the information in a broad context rather than in a "this part failed, this part passed" context.

Ok, need a set for sure! Bummer I missed the first drop but I will get one on the next batch. You do excellent work and thanks for all you do!
You know that it's a hot item when you lock up the website! 😂

Worth the money for the class 👍
I really like the weed eater string in the display.
I asked about these in another video and here they are. Thanks ordering soon, I know it’s back ordered but I’m in no hurry.

Yay, thank you sir. Been waiting for this to happen
Another great video!!! thanks for making these tools available.
Heck yeah! Will be purchasing the other pin gauges when they become available.

You only really need a go and field. If it fails field, it shouldn't be used.
If you have trouble finding a shop to machine to precise dimensions, may I suggest Titan's of CNC in Texas.
It’s about time you got around to monetizing these tools! Congrats, I’d go check them out, but your website won’t let me in…😂
