Thank you so much for the upload. I never knew TYA toured Japan. NIPPON BUDOUKAN was the biggest rock concert venue at the time, which goes on to show how big they were in Japan. I remember, however, listeners always complained about the bad acoustics of the venue, because it was originally designed for events for traditional martial arts, such as judo. I remember hearing echoes when I saw Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow there, which was the first-ever live gig I saw in my life.
Alvin said in an interview he didn’t like the acoustics in those big arenas. he liked it better playing in smaller venues like the Marquee or the Fillmore
Saw them 6-7 times when I use to live in Baltimore. They would play there just about every year and they always came to the Civic Center in Baltimore. The place would always sell out. And they definitely put on a great show. Man,, I miss those days.
It seems like TYA recordings are so hard to find. So finding one like this is always a real treat and greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏 for sharing this with us who love ❤️ Ten Years After!!!!!
It is one these moments were I wish I had the chance to see TYA in its prime. It doesn`t matter what year they came to Germany I was always way too young to go there. So this is one of the(many) uploads where I can imagine how awesome the band was on stage.
I have a friend that lived in Georgia as a promoter and he moved back to Kaukauna Wisconsin a city of 15,000 and he booked Alvin Lee around 89 maybe 90 at this tavern in Appleton Wisconsin and only a 100 people showed up and needless to say I don't know why everyone was sitting at the bar about 15 yards away and next thing you know is everyone else came up too what a fantastic show
I saw them in Fitchburg, Mass. in 1977, I was 17, driving my 71 cuda with my friends drunk with the cooler in the backseat between 2 friends, the state police pulled us over, I was tripping, oh, oh, I told the cop I was sick and not drinking while my friends are whooping loudly in the car while I'm outside with the cop, after opening my trunk he told me he's going to give me a break, lucky, my pupils were huge, I think he felt bad because of my rowdy friends, lol,
As an Air Force Brat, I was at this concert and also at their concert the previous year in May of 1972. Their 1972 date had Procol Harum as their opening act. This concert had Albert Hammond opening for them which was a mistake. Albert and his guitar were really good but the energy just wasn't there with Albert or Ten Years After either.
My first Arena Concert in Wpg April 8 th 1972 Like they say the best things in life is Free !! There was about 30 -40 of fans trying to find a way in the arena ! We went to the another end of the arena we found a vent door half door size with slats ! This skinny girl with tiny hand 🖐 opens this vent door !! Then we piled thru the vent door 30 -40 us running pass Giant Tanks!! Then we seen about 3 security guards chasing us they couldn’t catch us all ! I made it to the ice level floor it was dark and the opening band FLUDD !! a was playing! I sat on the floor watching Security taking some of the people they caught !! Fludd finshed their Set !! Then the house lights went on ! Then mabe 10- 15 minutes the house lights went out . I immediately went to the stage ! As their was no security like their is today ! So here I am with my elbows on the stage !! Then One of these Days !!! opens the show! Alvin got his Red Clogs shoes 👞! UNBELIEVABLE SHOW ! Then yrs later August 1987 in Vancouver Expo Theatre ! I got to see Alvin one more time Doing I’m going Home ! I hope some of the people that made it in the Back Door of the Wpg arena reads this story !!!

@@roncanada4981 Quizás porque estás contando una historia delictiva. It´s a crime.
there is no 10yrsaftr w/o Lee...
the one without him is a joke
Right cos he did so much when he left TYA, he tried putting them on wages then fell into "where are they now file"
