Formed in Haiti as Shleu-Shleu, Skah Shah was reorganized by vocalist Joe Ely "Cubano" Telfort after he moved to New York in the mid-'70s. I'm sorry let's say the things right. Skah Shah was reorganized by the Drummer and migthy composer Arsene Appolon, Not by our famous Jean Elie Robert Cubano Telfort. Although Cubano gained a lot popularity after he was hired in Shleu Shleu by Manager Dada Jacaman, Maestro Serge Rosenthal, and lead singer Zouzoul in 1969, but he didn't take the lead shortly after, he became the charismatic lead singer in 1974 when the band moved to New York and changed their name to Skah Skah under the leadership of Maestro Loubert Chancy, and the Hit composer / drummer / founder Yves Arsene Appolon.
