    Great review, and thank you. Stumbled onto your page when trying to figure what watch to buy coming from a S3 Frontier. I'm getting sick of charging it everyday, even sometimes twice. I don't need all the fancy Smartwatch things, I need something that will help me get motivated. This watch seems like the watch to get. Now I have figure out do I need a epix or Fenix or this is good enough for me. Thanks again, and you gained a sub.

      Thanks man. I appreciate the sub. You're right these are pretty good watches. Nothing is perfect, but I'm happy with my Venu 2 Plus so far. Also I added your name for a draw in early Feb.
      Also just posted an umboxing of the Fenix 7 Solar. Have a look.

      @@RyansTechMedia your welcome and thank you. I'm going to look at that now. Just debating on the price tag and is enough to spend the extra $400 for the flagship.

      I had an Epix and swapped for a venu 2 plus! I kept flitting from an Apple Watch to Epix and realised I missed being able to take a call in my phone/siri! The venu 2 plus was perfect and I don’t need the advanced metrics of the epix. If this feature comes to an Epix 3, I would purchase, for now I’m v happy with my venu 2 plus

    Fenix 6x Pro arrived today (like it a lot so far) - am considering venu 2 + if Fenix doesn’t work out for me. Like idea of phone calling.
    7x I understand could be out tomorrrow?? Just returned AW Series 7 after 4 days - drove me crazy - in a couple of days had to charge twice in a single day!!grrr. Too many notifications and wrist twist functions - just too busy. Garmin makes proper watches.

    • @RyansTechMedia
      @RyansTechMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool. If you're more of a fitness guy and you're ok with the Fenix's size, just keep it. Especially knowing you get that much battery life on Fenix, downgrading to Venu 2 Plus might feel weird later. But if especially comfort and size matter to you then I'd give the venu 2 plus a shot.
      Yep, that's what I've heard. Can't wait to see the announcement.

    Hey Ryan great video review. I want to buy a Garmin watch with most if these features , but i want a watch with offline maps. Is this posssible? i cant afford an Epix or Fenix. So a Venu 2 is likely my best option. Are offline maps possible on this watch?

    • @RyansTechMedia
      @RyansTechMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vance! Unfortunately the Venu 2 Plus is not shipped with any kind of maps. Although it has navigational features. So you can go to a place and then save the location so in the future you can find it on the watch by way of knowing how close you are to it. So even that is not a turn by turn navigation. But there are third party apps that provide maps, some features free some paid that you can download from Connect IQ. But even then they're not as sophisticated as, say, Fenix 7 and you might need to download a specific route. Honestly I haven't tried them myself.
      Here's an example: apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/a64d3253-f976-405b-afdf-eef2e5dca6ec
      Try to search for maps for venu 2 plus in the search box to see more.
      Thank you for watching and the comment!

    Have you ever tested Suunto 7? I already own that watch and I really like it, but the battery became awful :/. Do you think is it worth it to change or the upgrade will not be noticeable? Im more a hard user with all the notifications, all day interactions and training 5-6x week

    • @RyansTechMedia
      @RyansTechMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing. This is a tricky one, because you would be moving to a different brand. And you might end-up with regret, even though this is a good watch.
      You probably don't even get 2 days of battery life out of it, right? I think this could be a good option for you, but with your level activity and usage pattern if you would really like to give Garmin a shot and would have the budget for it, I'd even recommend the Garmin Fenix. Both Fenix 6 and 7 are good options.
      Also if you're not in a hurry, I'll be doing a better in-depth review after one month of wearing it. And curious to know how long you've had the Suunto watch.

    • @michalstarski8486
      @michalstarski8486 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm using my Suunto for more than a year right now, we've made about 230+ training sessions and that's the case - I know Suunto's ecosystem, I like it and I think It will not be easy for me to change everything ;) but I'm starting to look for other possibilities because of the battery life - one day as a smartwatch and half day tracking training with music on headphones is really unacceptable for me :/ I need to look at those Garmins and I can't wait for full month review of this one :)

    • @RyansTechMedia
      @RyansTechMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't tried the Amzefit, but if you want very accurate sensors, I'd say go for the Venu 2 Plus. I have plenty of videos about Venu 2 Plus, Ticwatch Pro 5 and other watches as well. Thanks for watching!

      @RyansTechMedia thanks for the reply. :)
      I mainly use my current watch for, checking notifications, timers, weather, counting steps, checking heart rate, glancing at emails, checking my calender, tracking some walking, and tracking my sleep.
      Now the main thing i want is a GOOD battery, i appreciate it depends how you use it, this will see how long it lasts etc
      My current watch is a first gen Samsung, but I am put off by the battery life of the new samsungs.

  • @2u841
    @2u841 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are you planning to review the original venu 2 too?

    • @RyansTechMedia
      @RyansTechMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not, since there is not much of a difference between that and the Venu 2 Plus. Only the added microphone and speaker and of course the size. Otherwise they're pretty much identical. But because of the slightly bigger size of the Venu 2, you'd probably get a bit longer battery life. So if you find it on sale and don't need the mic and speaker, it's probably a good option to consider.

    The Body Battery on my Venu does not produce anything of value. For me it has very little relation to how I feel, and how ell rested I have been. The touchscreen on the Venu was very slow to respond, and battery life was average. The Venu 2 Plus seems to be a better upgrade after my experience with the first Venu. Time will tell.
