That’s actually my main use case for the device (and it’s promised in Atomos’ teaser video) but I couldn’t figure out whether it’s currently available anywhere in the UI. I tweeted at Atomos asking this question yesterday but no reply yet. No manual yet either; feels almost like a beta release.
@@lukestein Eeek, mine too! I’m planning on using these for a USB web cam and PowerPoint for conferences. My units arrive on Friday. Does the overlay function have anything there with the sources?
I dug around and best I can tell overlay only gives access to image overlays and not sources so no PIP there. That said, it seems like there's not even any streaming/encoding capabilities yet. I wonder if all of this will require firmware update and/or access to cloud.atomos.com , which allegedly “Launched on 8th July” (i.e., tomorrow).
@@lukestein I just experienced something similar with the new Rodecaster Pro II. The launch firmware was beyond buggy, and USB connections didn’t work for about 80% of what it was said to perform. I don’t want to sound like an old guy shaking my fist, but technology is really treating us like un-paid beta testers.
Firmware update today (with useful release notes) and also a manual! I added links to the video description. There is now streaming. Note the firmware release notes includes a list of “known limitations to be fixed in future releases” that includes picture-in-picture 🤞
FYI, the 'manual' appears to be available here --> atomos.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/5085590576143-ZATO-CONNECT-USER-MANUAL The latest firmware update release notes are here --> f002.backblazeb2.com/file/atomos-uploads/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/08212545/AtomOS-Lite-10.01.00_Release-Notes.pdf and they speak to some of the current limitations.
Yes, thank you! Installed yesterday and added some notes to the video description on what’s now there (e.g., TH-cam streaming, some bug fixes) and what’s not (e.g., picture-in-picture).
Fast and complete video ...thanks !
Thanks for saying so. I just can’t deal with 20 minute unboxings 🐢💤
That is a T-0-N of functionality in one device. Having a larger video display monitor and H.264 recorder is tops in my book.
So cool to see, thank you! Have you discovered if you can have both input on the screen, PIP style? Thank you!

Excellent
So this monitor doesn't actually have monitoring tools like scopes and false colours? Does it let you apply a LUT?
Alas, it doesn’t, and nope. It’s really a recorder and streamer more than a monitor, I guess.
Can you incorporate something like streamlabs or stream elements into the overlays?
I don’t think so… just static images, alas

Is this bonding network?
I’m not doing any bonding… just tried regular wifi
