  • After making the 8 hour drive to Breckenridge from our home city, we spent our first day exploring the best of what Colorado has to offer! We started by driving to Frisco, somewhere I (Ashley) used to spend my summers, to pick up our bikes to bike Vail Pass! After being shuttled to the top of Vail Pass, we started the 14 mile ride down. We really recommend stopping at some of the pull offs and enjoying the scenery. The bike ride doesn't take more than a couple hours, but the lakes, trails, and stop in Copper Mountain can make it as long of a ride as you'd like. The path ends back in Frisco, where you ride through the main street. Most restaurants and cafes have moved a lot of seating outside because of covid, so there's plenty of options for lunch! We stopped and ate lunch before dropping our bikes back off in Frisco. Thanks to Pioneer Sports for coming to the rescue when Christian's bike broke!
    After our bike ride, we went back to our airbnb and picked up our dogs to go on one of our favorite hikes in the area - Mayflower Gulch Grand Traverse! This is a good acclimation hike, and really great for social distancing. It's a bit out of the way, towards Leadville, but it's very worth the drive. We hiked past old mining ruins and streams before reaching the end of the trail. We really recommend this hike, it's accessible for all skill levels!
    Breckenridge has a lot to offer during the summer months, especially biking and hiking. Staying outdoors is the safest way to travel right now, and hiking is a great option!

    What an absolutely gorgeous bike ride! Nice little backroads and rock sculptures. Totally great plan coasting down versus grinding up, lol. Sorry to hear about the bike malfunction. Cozy and cool place to stay at, and glad you were able to bring your dogs too. Love the mountains and views! Awesome job, beautifully done!

    your brave doing that without getting used to the elevation first

    • @AshleyandChristian
      @AshleyandChristian  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Christian definitely was feeling the elevation during our hike haha. We've done this specific one multiple times over the years, so we knew what to expect!

    How much was the Airbnb?

    Is it consistent downhill the entire time...aka...*no* pedaling? Like, none, whatsoever.
