Tesla has long been one of my heroes. I'm too dumb to understand a lot of things he did but i know he was way ahead of his time. He deserved better than he got.

As I remember from Tesla literature, Tesla learned mostly from European sources about electric theory. He was a good experimentalist and quite inventive in his own right. Who can’t love the Tesla Coil - lots of fun. It was basically resonance in action. In my Radio adventures in the 1950s, almost all my fellow engineering students were building and experimenting with Ham radio in the 20 and 40 Megahertz bands. We also constructed Tesla coils and sometimes created havoc in the radio broadcast bands locally. I personally built and operated a 40 MHz Ham radio station where my Antenna was a wire circling our entire 2 story house. From my OHIO location Ham operators in upper NY state claimed my signal was one of the strongest ones in the 40 meter band (40 meters wavelength of about 120 ft). Our house was square and about 120 ft in circumference. Resonance plays a big help in the antenna world so my antenna circling the house was ideal (especially for vertical polarized antennas).

3:55 Tesla from Yugoslavia?! Tesla, an ethnic Serb, was born in the present day Croatia, then part of Austria-Hungary, and emigrated to the USA long before the “Yugoslavian Kingdom” was first established. In due course, he became a US citizen.

Tesla far outstrips Edison today as one of my heroes. It's sad that he didn't receive the recognition or remuneration he deserved during his lifetime. Who knows what could have been accomplished if his financial backing had been solid and steady, if he'd licensed his patents, and spent all his time researching and developing new ideas. Research and development seemed to have been his strong suits, but his backers mostly wanted inventions they could market.

You're an idiot. The traits you attribute to capitalism is human traits. Human beings do evil sht to each other regardless of a system of economy. It is why this idea of socialism and communism sounds amazing until it is enacted. Then once you add human nature into the mix you put those same evil powers at the top again only this time there is no ladder from poverty to riches for you anymore, and everyone becomes poor because the people at the top don't want you to have that wealth and they will stay at the top until the people revolt and murder them and replace it with another replica of the same person thinking theyl be any different. Communism and socialism inevitably centralizes power. Which means you have none, and regardless who is in charge they're still human beings who make mistakes, which has massive consequences for those that fall under that centralized power. Capitalism empowers the individual by allowing a free market away from governing powers and into the individual meaning their entire populace control the market through purchase, production and labor. What most people attribute to capitalism that's distasteful is human nature. But it's present in all forms of economies. The only difference is its not centralized. Capitalism is the most powerful system that produces wealth, and reduces poverty far better than any system ever created. So much so that the ccp became heavily reliant on it in order for them to catch up to capitalist countries. What you hate isn't capitalism, it's your nature you hate.

It didnt fail him, it killed him. They all saw how much advancement and money his inventions and ideas were capable of producing. So Instead of helping him advance, they Ridiculed him financially ruined him and eventually caused his “death” (assassination). Then his patents stolen, hidden and renamed to defame him and/or allow somebody else to claim “their new invention”. He was one of the greatest minds only to be squashed and called crazy and all is work claimed by an idiot o who couldn’t invent sliced bread. Tesla Brought a lightbulb to light in society🥲. Edison stole it and make it public to claim he invented it.

@@pyotrberia9741 Stop with the revisionist history....Tesla never sold his patents...he waived payments from his patents, allowing Westinghouse company, and others, to more rapidly implement the AC power grid. They certainly were not his "cash cow" as Tesla had to solicit funds from various investors and donors. It was only when his Wardencliffe tower venture to promote "free energy" did investors abandon his venture.
His humanitarian reason to forego patent fees cost him dearly, but did electrify America, and the world far more rapidly then otherwise.
In some moments of reflection from the Westinghouse corporation, the company paid for his suite at his hotel until his passing.

The discovery of alternating current (AC) before Tesla was made by several scientists and engineers, such as Michael Faraday, James Clerk Maxwell, and Heinrich Hertz. However, Tesla was the one who popularized and applied AC for practical purposes, such as power transmission and lighting. He also developed many innovative devices and concepts based on AC, such as the induction motor, the Tesla coil, and wireless power transmission. Tesla is widely regarded as one of the greatest inventors of all time.

This is a myth. The battle of the currents was actually between Edison and Westinghouse. Edison and Tesla were lifelong friends. This is known from Tesla’s own diaries. Hollywood has made up the myth you refer to. And also it is little known that although Tesla was very intelligent within his field of work, in his personal life he was a lunatic. They tried many times to have him committed because he was extremely crazy. For example he believed that outer space was filled with a gas called orzone. Orzone was supposed to be ( Tesla’s words ) the breath of God.

Tesla did not discover/invent alternating current. It was first produced by Hippolyte Pixii in 1832, about 25 years before Tesla was born. Tesla did not invent the modern 3-phase distribution system, that was invented by Mikhail Dolivo-Dobrovolsky. Similarly for x-rays, radio, remote control, etc. Tesla fans claim he invented everything simply due to their ignorance of history.

    • @lilsammywasapunkrock
      @lilsammywasapunkrock 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

So a guy nobody has ever heard of, who used suggestions by others, to build a device, who did not even understand how it worked, invented alternating current? Here's an quote from his barely paragraph long Wikipedia page.
" Although Pixii did not fully understand electromagnetic induction, his device led to more sophisticated devices being constructed."
Not the guy that built, designed, produced, and standardized all electricity in use today, but the guy that couldn't explain how a magnet worked. Makes perfect sense.
Neither of them "invented alternating current", just as Thomas Edison didn't invent the light bulb. It was know to exist for decades before Tesla was born. There were also extremely non-effective ways of producing a c.
Tesla is considered to be the "inventor" because his system was drastically different, and much more efficient then any previous system.
Tesla is also the recognized inventor of the radio, macaroni own design was identical, other then being powered externally, instead of using the same radio waves as Tesla's, which is why the us patent office denied his patent, in 1900, which they reversed in 1904, which the supreme Court ruled to have been "politically motivated" in 1945.
Tesla had done multiple demonstrations publicly of "wireless transmission" as early as 1893, 11 years before macaroni's patent was even filed.
Tesla also never claimed to have invented x-rays, but had taken multiple x-rays and documented it years before anyone else had even experimented with them.
Tesla is a fad now, he is often misquoted, and rarely understood. But there is not one other person that changed so many industries, so many times, in such a short period of time, period.

I find it outrageous the Russia-lover Elon Musk can name his cars Tesla.
Tesla deserved more than the recognition he got. Edison was just a thief and a grumpy old man who did what he could to discredit Tesla and his brilliant work.
Btw..there is no such thing as "death rays" and a laser works totally differently than electric circuits.

Improper information is being put out for general consumption and nobody gives a $hit.

@@riderinsanjose337 Yes, you are correct. The technical term is "Yellow Journalism". Where publications deliberately Sensationalize stories -- to excite an ignorant, gullible public. This is a principle theme of the film "Citizen Kane".
Every year, on Tesla's birthday, newspaper reporters would throw a lavish party. Just to goad him into talking about his latest invention. Which they would distort, or blow way out of proportion. The most infamous example being his so-called "Death Ray".
All of these videos are by hacks who wish to ride on the coat-tails of Tesla's current wave of popular acclaim. But they never bother to learn the actual math, science, engineering behind his work.
I DID learn. Starting back in early 1970's. Drawing from libraries of 2 local colleges, the huge NYC public library, Library of Congress, Inter-library loan of microfilm from Colorado Springs, correspondence with experts, All his patents, even books imported from Europe.
Then, I deliberately accumulated a HUGE collection of lab quality electronic /metrology instruments and standards. 1,500 square feet of my house -- Stuffed floor to ceiling. Mostly General Radio, Leeds & Northrup, HP. The best which mankind could devise and build.
I tested and proved Tesla's principles. Today's hacks (including Neil deGrasse Tyson) are barking up the wrong tree. It took me 35 years to unravel the missing element of Tesla's "Magnifying Transmitter". NO one else knows what it is.
